HA• Thank You Card

Hello there! Quick post today, just to share a thank you card that I created using a cute stamp set by Hero Arts: Teacup Flowers. I love the flower images that remind me about how fun and pretty Spring is!

Well, one thing that I liked a lot about this particular set is that it includes a variety of different blooms, leaves, and other floral details that are perfect to create bouquets. For my card, I stamped the images with Intense Black ink and then, I colored them with markers, with very little details… They are just very pretty by themselves! Then, I die cut them with their matching frame cuts.

I arranged them over a white panel using glue dots and foam tape to add dimension. After that, I white embossed a simple sentiment over a strip of black cardstock. Finally, I adhered the panel over a folded card, and I added some clear dots as the final touches. Simple, colorful and fun.

FSJ Stamp of the Month: Fresh Start

April has just begun, so that means a brand new Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month has just been released. This new stamp set is called Fresh Start. I love that this set features a bunch of flower images that are perfect to color using any of your favorite techniques. The sentiments included are also beautiful and just right for Spring.

For this card, I used Liquid Colors (Lemon Drop, Limeade Splash, Orange Creamsicle, and Sweet Pear) to create a fun background over a Whip Cream  Panel. I adhered this panel onto a Lemon Drop folded card. After that, I stamped the images with Black Licorice ink over Whip Cream  cardstock. I used a brush to color the images with Liquid Colors as well, and then I fussy cut the shapes with scissors.

Next, I adhered a piece of polka dot washi tape over a Whip Cream  long strip of cardstock , and I trimmed one of the ends to make it look like a long banner. I also die cut a hollow circle from Lemon Drop cardstock, and I used it as the frame for my bunch of flowers.

Last, I white-embossed a sentiment over Black Licorice cardstock, and I die cut it into a circle and I adhered it onto the card using foam squares. To finish up this card I added some sequins and glitter gems. I loved the color combination I used, so here you have it:

FSJ • Thank You Card

This month’s promotion at Fun Stampers Journey is called Crush of Color and it is all about colors! All the solid cardstock colors along with their coordinating ink pads have a 20% discount this month! Additionally, each week they are showcasing one or two of the FSJ color families, and adding some amazing coordinating bundles. So please be sure to hop over to their website and FB page to see more details and inspiration.

So Today I am sharing a project that I created using some pretty cardstock and ink colors. To create this card, I used a stamp set called Poppy Days. The images of this set can be layered to create a couple of different blooms, take a look:

090818web_thankyou5

I only used two of layers of one of the blooms, so the first layer was stamped with Pineapple Smoothie and Bubblegum inks over a Whip Cream  panel, and then the second layer was stamped with Black Licorice ink.  After that, I simply adhered this panel over a Fresh Sage card base.

For the flower I used a Host Exclusive die set called Bold Bloom. Before I die cut the layers of the flower I created the lines of the petals on a piece of Whip Cream cardstock by using the the Bubblegum ink pad edge to make some clockwise marks.  After that, I die cut the bloom layers.

Additionally, I inked the edges of the blooms using a sponge dauber. After that, I layered the flower.  I added a Bubblegum cardstock banner and a sentiment from a set called Everyday Script to complement the card.

FSJ • Best Wishes

I have to confess something about Fun Stampers Liquid Colors… They are one of my favorite products to create fun and unique backgrounds! Recently, five new fabulous colors were added to the already wonderful collection. 070218web_BestWishes

This card is featuring one of the techniques used to create the backgrounds of  one of the cards from the current Bloom Box. If you are curious about it, please follow this link to see the complete July Bloom Box as well as the way to subscribe.

Anyhow, the technique is fun, and it only takes a few strokes of Limeade Splash Liquid Color and a square paint brush to create it.  The pretty flower stamp is actually an AT stamp called Fragant Camellia, and it can be also be purchased with its matching die set. I used Lemon Grass True Color Fusion ink for the leaves and Watermelon Fusion True Color Fusion Ink for the blooms.

070218web_BestWishes2

I layered the background panel over a Sweet Berry cardstock mat and a Denim Days card base. I adhered some strips of my favorite polka dot Journey tape and I affixed everything with a couple of silver staples.  The sentiment belongs to the  Everyday Script set and it was stamped with Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink over the background and enhanced with Journey Glaze (another of my favorite FSJ products).

070218web_BestWishes3

I adhered leaves and flowers with foam squares and of course I included some Sweet Candy Drops, Candy minis, and a tiny paper clip as the final touches of this card.   If you like this color combo here you have it:

FSJ • Life is Art… Live Yours in Color

Working with Liquid Colors can be so much fun. There is no right or wrong way to use them when used to create strokes or splatters of color. Before I continue, I would like to point out that in our New Fun Stampers Catalog there are among others,  FIVE new liquid colors added to it: Peaches and Cream, Rustic Rose, Sweet Pear, Fresh Sage, and Turbo Teal.

So today I am sharing a card using some of my favorite Liquid Color hues.  The background panel was created by simply applying strokes from side to side of different liquid colors (Lemon Drop, Lovely Blue, Cool Pool and Limeade Splash) over a Whip cream rectangle with the Square Paint Brush.  Then, I stamped one of the sentiments included in the brand new Color Pop stamp set with Black Licorice Ink. Since my sewing machine was handy, I affixed the panel over a Whip Cream folded card.

071018web_LifeisArt

I used the Colorful Bloom Die set to create the flowers from Whip Cream cardstock . Then, I put a little bit of Lemon Drop Liquid Color over an acrylic block, I spread it with the Square Paint Brush and waited a few seconds so the color could form some  spots. Next, I placed the flower shapes over the watery mix to pick up the color and let them dry.

071018web_LifeisArt2

I adhered the flowers on the card with Journey Glue Dots and I embellished them with three red Party Burst Dots as their centers. To finish up this card,  I flicked Sparkle silk and of course applied Journey Glaze over the sentiment.

FSJ • Thank You Card

One of the Fun Stampers Journey Products that I can never get tired of using are the Liquid Colors. Liquid Colors are dye based and they are available in twelve different colors.

101317web_thankyoucard1

The colors are vibrant and can be used to create backgrounds, or to color images as well. For this card I payed with some of the colors,  and I used a stencil too.  I like to create several backgrounds at the time, since I know I can use them later for other projects.

101317web_thankyoucard2

The stamp set that I used is called Dahlia Burst  with its matching dies.  In the beginning I thought of leaving the flowers plain white, but in the end I added a hint of color using my Journey Color Burst color pencils to kind of integrate them more into the background.

101317web_thankyoucard3

I matted the background panel with white cardstock and stitches along the edge. I adhered the stitched panel to a base card. I layered the flowers and leaves, and adhered them with Journey squares and dots. I complemented the cluster with a white-embossed sentiment, sparkle cuts, silk and  a few sequins.  This card was so much fun to make!

FSJ • Thinking of You Card

Hi there! I am back today to share a card that I made using some products from the Fun Stampers Journey Catalog.  This is one of my favorite stamps sets from the Blooms section named Peony Blooms.

092217web_thinkingofyou1

To color the blooms I used the Journey Color Burst color pencils and I applied Journey Glaze andJourney Sparkle cuts .  The background of this card was created using the same technique that I used on my last posted card, Lemon Drop and Fresh Forest Liquid color drops over the Journey Gel Press. Then, I sprayed a little bit of water with a mister  and  I spread the color with a brayer mixing well the colors in between to create the ombré effect. I waited a few seconds until dots of color were formed over the Journey Gel Press and then I placed a Whip Cream panel over to pick up the color.

092217web_thinkingofyou2

As I have mentioned before, creating backgrounds with the liquid colors is so much fun. If you happen to create several, save them for later… they come in handy when you need to create last minute cards.  Anyhow, to finish this card, a pierced square, Journey tape, a sentiment and some sequins were the rest of the components of this card.

Currently there is a Mix Media Sale at Fun Stampers Journey, and lots of inspiration on the FSJ blog too. Please don’t forget to visit them for more details.

FSJ • Praying for You

Hi there! I have always liked to create my own backgrounds. Sometimes when I am just playing with some fun products like the Fun Stampers Liquid Colors and the Journey Gel Press, it is hard to stop… I usually end up making many backgrounds! Today I am sharing a card that I made using one of those backgrounds along with some other products by Fun Stampers Journey

081217web_prayingforyou

To create the background I simply put Lemon Drop and Fresh Forest Liquid color drops over the Journey Gel Press. Then, I sprayed a little bit of water with a mister  and  I spread the color with a brayer. I waited a few seconds until dots of color were formed over the Journey Gel Press and then I placed a Whip Cream panel over to pick up the color.  The beautiful flowers image is from a set called Beauty Blooms. To give the stamped image an ombré effect, I applied different colors of ink over the stamp with sponge daubers. To complement the focal point, I stamped a sentiment with Black Licorice ink over a strip of Whip Cream cardstock. Then, I fussy-cut the images with my favorite scissors, the Details Pro Shears!

081217web_prayingforyou2

I also die cut a tag from Fresh Forest cardtsock and then, I  layered all the card components using foam squares. I added some details like Journey tape, rainbow drops, Natural Thread, and a vellum strip behind the sentiment.  I was very happy with the results.
