Hello Card

Hey there! Days are flying by, but one of the things that I like to do everyday, no matter what, is to dedicate an hour or so to do my crafts. I have been organizing, doing scrapbooking, and of course my cards. Another thing that I have been trying to do is to order some craft supplies from some of my favorite stores including local stores. I really wouldn’t like to see any craft store closing their doors forever, so I am trying to help a little bit.

Anyway, here I am sharing a card that I create with some cool products from Hero Arts. I am including a quick recipe and a list of supplies too. Check it out:

My card showcases a pretty set called Hello Toucan. This set includes cute toucan images that are perfect to color. Coloring can be a good stress reliever. So nowadays it has been good for me to keep my color pencils and markers handy all the time 😉 This time, I chose my color pencils to color the cool toucan, flowers and leaves. The rest, two green tones of cardstock, a sentiment, enamel dot and glaze details.

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission. Thanks!

Quick Card Recipe:

  1. Create a folded card from Pesto color cardstock.
  2. Use the Leaves & Vines Fancy Die and a Palm color cardstock rectangle (3″ x 5.5) to create a partial background. Adhere to card with craft glue.
  3. Die cut a rectangle from Dove White cardstock. Stamp sentiment with black ink. Adhere over card front with foam tape.
  4. Stamp images with black ink over Dove White cardstock. Color with color pencils. Die cut with their matching dies. Arrange and adhere over card.
  5. Apply glaze details, enamel dots and a wiggle eye.

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

The new My Monthly Hero kit has just been released and it will be available as of TODAY March 2nd at the Hero Arts store, but be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. For this month, Hero will start shipping the kits and add-ons on March 16 due to some supplier delays. We all know you are excited to get your kit and Hero will work to ship earlier if possible. Thank you for your wonderful patronage and patience. Please remember that you have the option to subscribe and receive the kit monthly and never miss one.

The theme for March features a wonderful color layering set that comes with dies and other great products perfect to create amazing projects for Spring with an oriental touch, take a look:

The kit includes: 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set, 5 Coordinating Frame Cut Dies, 5 Ink Cubes (Green Hills, Field Greens, Dusty Blue, Rose Madder, Cotton Candy), 6 5.5″x 8.5″ Sheets of Cardstock (2 each of Peony, Kiwi and Mist),  Pink Puff Embossing Powder 0.5 oz. The value of this kit is $70, but it can be yours for only $34.99… so this is really a good deal!

This month, there also some phenomenal add-ons products, and I had the chance to create with some of them. My first card features Dreams Will Blossom Stamp set and its Frame Cuts:

The set includes a couple of flower bouquets and some sentiments. I stamped one of the flowers stamps over white cardstock, and I added some color details with markers. This stamp is so pretty that it doesn’t really need much color to look lovely! I complemented the image with a sentiment that I white-embossed over a black cardstock strip. I placed both of them over a double layer of rectangles.

Then, I created the background using a stencil called Leaf Pattern (this stencil came along with the June MMH kit). I used it to embossed a dark pink cardstock panel, and after that I adhered it over a black folded card. I adhered the focal point layers over the card, and I embellished it with yellow enamel dots.

My second card shows a cute and fun set called Kittens in Kimonos.

I began by creating the stamped background. Using the Parasol Bold Prints stamp with red ink over a red cardstock panel, I created a subtle image. I added the panel over a black folded card.

After that, I stamped two of the kittens over white cardstock and colored them with markers. I die cut them with their matching frame cuts. Then, I white-embossed a sentiment over a black cardstock strip. To finish up the card I arranged the stamped element over the card and I complement them with a white circle shape, decorative tape and some enamel dots. Simple yet fun!

You Are One in a Chameleon Card

Happy Friday! I have a Hero Arts card today that features a pretty Stamp & Cut set called Chameleon. This type of sets are fabulous because they make things easier for you. You get the stamps and matching dies in the same package at a great price. So, take a look of the card I created:

For this card, the images were simply colored with Chameleon Markers (how clever, right?) and then they were die cut with their matching dies. I arranged them over a circle shape and I of course I also white-embossed sentiment onto a black small circle to complement the focal point.

To make the background I used a a green panel that I previously created with FSJ liquid colors. Then, I stamped the Jungle Bold Prints background over it with Lime to Forever Green Ombré Ink Pad. This kind of pads are one of my favorite products from Hero Arts, just because they make your stamping more interesting and fun! I matted the panel with a darker green panel and adhered it over a folded card. After that, I placed the main elements over the card, I embellished it with some Sunset Hero Hues Enamel Dots, Journey Glaze and Journey Sparkle Cuts details.

Toucan Do It Card

Hello, hello! Quick post today just to share a shaker card that I created using a fun and pretty Spellbinders die set called Shapeabilities Botanical House Etched Dies, take a look:

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 020720web_toucandoit-1.jpg

I don’t often create shaker cards, but I have to say that they are fun to make. In this case the house frame and the leaves were placed above the acetate. I affixed them between the frame and the acetate and then, the confetti was placed underneath the acetate so it could move freely.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 020720web_toucandoit2-1.jpg

I thought that pretty house was missing some visitors, so I used a couple of toucan and flower stickers to create a fun scene. I also stamped a sentiment from a FSJ stamp set called Toucan Do It. If you like this set, please be sure to visit the SB store and see all the new stuff that they have i

HA• Thank You Card

Hello there! Quick post today, just to share a thank you card that I created using a cute stamp set by Hero Arts: Teacup Flowers. I love the flower images that remind me about how fun and pretty Spring is!

Well, one thing that I liked a lot about this particular set is that it includes a variety of different blooms, leaves, and other floral details that are perfect to create bouquets. For my card, I stamped the images with Intense Black ink and then, I colored them with markers, with very little details… They are just very pretty by themselves! Then, I die cut them with their matching frame cuts.

I arranged them over a white panel using glue dots and foam tape to add dimension. After that, I white embossed a simple sentiment over a strip of black cardstock. Finally, I adhered the panel over a folded card, and I added some clear dots as the final touches. Simple, colorful and fun.

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

The new My Monthly Hero kit has been just released and it will be available as of TODAY November 4 th at the Hero Arts store, but be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. This month the kits will begin shipping from Hero Arts on Friday, November 8th, and you can pre-order it today. I want to point out that you have the option to subscribe and receive the kit monthly and never miss one.

The theme for November features adorable images and dies perfect to create Holidays projects, take a look:

The kit includes: 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set, 13 Coordinating Frame Cut Dies, 1 Doorway Fancy Die, 5 Fancy Dies, , 2 Plastic Ornaments, 6 Envelopes (Size A10), 6 Glassine Bags, and 1 Glitter Lacquer Pen. The value of this kit is $81.50, but it can be yours for only $34.99… so this is really a good deal!

This time I created three projects using some of the add-on products. The first card features the Tri-fold Edge Winter Pine Fancy Dies:

This is quite a simple card design where I die cut two of the dies to create a double layered card. I adhered them over a subtle background and I included a gold-embossed sentiment from the May your Home be filled with Joy stamp set. I embellished this card with just a few gold sequins.

My second card showcases one of my favorites sets of this release, the Christmas Gingerbread Cookies

I stamped the images with Intense Black Ink and I colored them with markers. I die cut the images with their matching dies. The sentiment was white-embossed over black cardstock, and then I die cut it into a label using one the dies included in the Holiday Meal Stamp and Cut set. I arranged and adhered the images over a subtle background sprinkled with Sparkle Silk.

My third project features a fun set called Mountain of Joy and its matching frame cuts:

I stamped the large image with Intense Black Ink and colored with markers without adding details of light or shadows… Then I added Glaze with Sparkle cut details over the bows and the ornaments. To create the background I put polka dot decorative tape over a white panel, then I adhered the colored image and I included a white-embossed sentiment to finish up this card.

Hero will give away one $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, November 10th at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

The new My Monthly Hero kit has been just released and it will be available as of TODAY October 7th at the Hero Arts store, but be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. This month the kits will begin shipping from Hero Arts on Friday, October 11th, and you can pre-order it today. I want to point out that you have the option to subscribe and receive the kit monthly and never miss one.

The theme for October is Christmas and the main kit includes fun images perfect to create fun Christmas scenes, check it out:

The kit includes: 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set, 19 coordinating frames, 2 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of Chrome Cardstock, 6 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of Neon Cardstock, , Clay Snowflake Embellishments, and Prisma Glitter 0.5 oz. The value of this kit is $75.00, but it can be yours for only $34.99… so this is really a good deal!

So for this special occasion I created three cards. For the first one I used the main kit stamp set:

I stamped the images with  Intense Black Ink and I colored them with markers. Then, I simply arranged the images on a white cardstock panel to create a cozy Christmas scene. A piece of washi tape and some enamel dots were the final touches for it.

The second card was created using one of the Add-on sets and its matching frame cuts. This set is called Out of This World Christmas, take a look:

For this card, I white-embossed the sentiment and some stars over a navy blue cardstock panel and I added some Sparkle Silk. Images were also stamped with  Intense Black Ink and colored with markers. I adhered the images with foam tape and I embellished the card with some silver sequins.

My third card features another add-on set which is one of my favorites sets:

The set is called Meowy Christmas and I also used its matching frame cuts. I used markers to color the images and I added some Glaze details here and there. I included tiny enamel dots as the ornaments and a white embossed sentiment over a piece of red cardstock.

Oh What Fun Catalog Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome! Today I am happy to be part of the Hero Arts...

Hero is celebrating the release of the new Oh What Fun Catalog that includes many new products that I am sure you would like to have for the upcoming Holiday season. Please be sure to visit the Hero Arts shop so you can see them and start making your wish list!

So, I created a card using a few products included in the catalog. This time, I used my Misti to stamp the Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints over white cardstock. I started by inking the central area of the stamp with Soft Sky shadow ink, then I added Dusty Blue and Cornflower Shadow Inks towards the edges, to obtain an ombré effect. I repeated this until I got the stamped results I was looking for.

Next, I used the Joy Stamp & Cut set to stamp the large word with Light to Red Royal Ombré ink and the complementary words with Intense Black Ink.

I adhered the panel over a blue folded card, I added Journey Glaze over the word Joy, and I embellished the card with Silver Twine and some clear dots.

My second project were a couple of simple tags, that you see below:

I die cut the tags using the Tag Infinity Dies from light blue cardstock then, I die cut the Snowy Drifts Fancy Dies from white cardstock. I adhered those pieces to the lower part of the tags, and I stamped a sentiments “To: and From:” from the Christmas Messages stamp set with Intense Black Ink. I also stamped a bow from the Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut set using Pale Tomato shadow Ink and Strawberry Bold Ink. Of course, at the end I added some tiny gemstones, Sparkle Silk and red bakers twine.

As part of this blog hop, Hero Arts will giveaway $50 gift cards to the Hero Arts shop to two lucky winners drawn from all comments left across the hop. Comment by August 31 at 11:59 PST. Winners will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

As always, the beginning of the month means that a new My Monthly Hero kit is being released. This fantastic kit will be available TODAY August 5th at the Hero Arts store, but be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. This month the kits will begin shipping from Hero Arts on Friday, August 9th. I want to point out that you have the option to subscribe and receive the kit monthly and never miss one.

Anyway, as you can see below, this time the theme for the kit brings up the medieval times and its magic…. kings, queens, castles, dragons, princesses, you name it!

The kit contains the following: 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set, 17 Coordinating Frame Cuts, 1 Fancy Castle Die, 2 5.5″ x 8.5″ sheets of Mirri Matte Lava Purple Paper, 2 5.5 x 8.5″ sheets of Parchment Paper, 3 Glimmer Ink Pots (Gold, Purple, Red), Dragon Scale Sequins. The value of this kit is $83.49, but you only have to pay $34.99 for it… so this is really a good deal!

So, I created two cards for today’s release, and for my first card I used the stamp and die sets from the main kit along with the Trefoil Bold Print cling background stamp and the Paper Layering Castle (add-ons products).

I began by die cutting the Paper Layering Castle die from white cardstock, and I colored the tips of the towers with a red marker. I adhered the castle over a light gray folded card. Then, I stamped the Trefoil Bold Print cling background stamp with green ink over a green cardstock rectangle to create the lower part of the card, just to give a little of detail to the panel.

After that, I used the main stamp and die sets to create the focal images which are the knight, the dragon and a sentiment . The knight and dragon were simply stamped with black ink over white cardstock and then colored with markers. The sentiment was white-embossed over a piece of black cardstock and as the final touches, I used clear dots, glaze details and decorative tape.

Here is my second card:

For this one, I created the background using two different liquid colors and a sponge dauber to create long strokes over a white cardstock panel. Blue for the sky, green for the grass. After that, I used the As You Wish stamp set and its coordinating frame-cuts to create a fairy-tale scene. Of course a castle image had to be included too! I stamped the castle from Build a Castle stamp set and die cut it with its matching frame-cuts. Then, I colored the images with markers, arranged them over the background and adhered them with foam tape. After that, using a stamp positioner tool, I stamped a sentiment directly over the background with black ink.

As I normally do, I added glaze details and some clear dots to finish up this card. I think is easy to get pretty cards when you have great products in your hands!

Here I am sharing the pictures of the add-ons products that I used to create the cards, so you can see more details of them. Please be sure to see the complete collection by clicking >>>HERE<<<.

As part of this blog hop, Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. The giveaway closes Sunday, August 11 th at 11:59pm, and the winner will be announced the following week on the Hero Arts blog.

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

The beginning of the month means, that a new wonderful My Monthly Hero kit will be available TODAY July 1st at the Hero Arts store. Be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. This month the kits will begin shipping from Hero Arts on Monday, July 8th. I want to point out that you have the option to subscribe and receive the kit monthly and never miss one.

https://heroarts.com/pages/mmh-july-2019-kit

This kit contains: 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set, fourteen Coordinating Frame Cuts, two Fancy Dies, five Ink Cubes (Dusty Blue, Lime Green, Forest, Cocoa, Sand Stone), four 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of New Hero Hues Premium Cardstock (two of each Meadow and Lapis) and a Blue Pearl Embossing Powder 0.5 oz.

I love the theme of this month’s kit, mountains, forest, fishing, water…. (sigh), so perfect for Summer! Check out the card I created with this kit:

I began by stamping the mountains, forest and dock. It is hard to see in the picture, but I clear-embossed over the stamped images using the large solid images. After that, I used a distress ink to create the sky and water (embossing-resist technique), and of course I flicked a bit of water with a brush. I stamped one of the sentiments included in the stamp set and then, I trimmed out the image, I matted it with the Meadow Premium cardstock and adhered the panel over a white folded card. To finish off this card, I stamped the kids images with Intense Black Ink, die cut them, and adhered them over the card with foam tape.

My second card features a couple of the ad-ons products. The stamp set that I used is called Camp in the Wild and I also use Forest Sunset Fancy Die.

For this card I used the Forest Sunset Fancy Die upside down to create the forest silhouette behind the bears. I know, I should have used it the other way, but I thought the die was also perfect using it this way too! 😀

Anyway, the images were simply stamped with Intense Black Ink and colored it with markers. I die cut them with their matching dies and I created a cute bonfire scene with them. A sentiment and Journey Glaze details were the final touches for this card.

As part of this blog hop, Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. The giveaway closes Sunday, July 7th at 11:59pm, and the winner will be announced the following week on the Hero Arts blog.

Hero Arts Anniversary Blog Hop • Day 1

Welcome! Today I am thrilled to be joining a fun Hero Arts Blog Hop that celebrates the launch of the 2019 Summer Catalog as well as the 45th Anniversary of Hero Arts in the crafting industry! So exciting!

This is a three day event in which each day a different group of talented crafters will be sharing projects using products from the new catalog. Please be sure to visit the Hero Arts store to see the new catalog as well as all the new amazing products!

As part of this celebration, I created two cards using a stamp set called: Curious Cat, which is absolutely adorable!

The images were stamped with Intense Black ink and then colored with markers. I die cut the images with their matching frame cuts, which are also available at the Hero store. Additionally, I created a subtle background with a stencil, ink and a sponge dauber, and I finished up this card with some twine and clear dots.

For my second card, I used a different cat and fish images that are super cute too. This time I stamped the fish bowl using Soft Sky ink and then I colored the water with markers. I colored the images with markers as well, then I adhered the fish over the bowl image with foam tape.

After that, I stamped the bowl again over a clear acetate with StazOn Jet Black ink , and then I die cut it with its matching die. I added a drop of Glaze over the fish and I placed the clear bowl over the fish. Then, I simply arranged the cat to complete the cute scene. The final touches for this card were, a white-embossed sentiment, washi tape and some dots.

Hero Arts have gathered some fabulous prizes from some industry friends and partners for this hop, so take a look of the amazing list of sponsor and prizes:

As always, Winners will be drawn from people who leave comments along the blog hop over the three days – comment all three days for more chances to win! Comment by Sunday, June 2 at 11:59pm PST, and Hero Arts will announce the winners on the HA blog the following week.
