April has just begun, so that means a brand new Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month has just been released. This new stamp set is called Fresh Start. I love that this set features a bunch of flower images that are perfect to color using any of your favorite techniques. The sentiments included are also beautiful and just right for Spring.
For this card, I used Liquid Colors(Lemon Drop, Limeade Splash, Orange Creamsicle, and Sweet Pear) to create a fun background over a Whip Cream Panel. I adhered this panel onto a Lemon Drop folded card. After that, I stamped the images with Black Licoriceink over Whip Cream cardstock. I used a brush to color the images with Liquid Colors as well, and then I fussy cut the shapes with scissors.
Next, I adhered a piece of polka dot washi tape over a Whip Cream long strip of cardstock , and I trimmed one of the ends to make it look like a long banner. I also die cut a hollow circle from Lemon Dropcardstock, and I used it as the frame for my bunch of flowers.
Last, I white-embossed a sentiment over Black Licorice cardstock, and I die cut it into a circle and I adhered it onto the card using foam squares. To finish up this card I added some sequins and glitter gems. I loved the color combination I used, so here you have it:
Hello friends! I have a couple of projects to share today. The month of March is literally flying by and I can’t believe we will be celebrating St. Patricks Day this weekend! Do you celebrate it? Well, we are not Irish, but I think it is fun to pretend we are and wear something green that day, or have the excuse to make a card to give it to a friend or family member, don’t you think?
Anyhow, as I said in the beginning, I created two cards for this Irish day featuring an ATS stamp set called ExtraLucky and the Lucky Clovers Die Set. If you have seen some of my projecst before, you should know that I love creating backgrounds with Liquid Colors, so I created one using my JourneyGel Press, Limeade Splash and Sweet Pear Liquid Colors, a brayer along with a Whip Cream cardstock panel. The steps are simple: 1) Apply liquid colors over the gel press, 2) Spray a bit of water, 3) Spread the colors with the brayer, 4) Pick up the color with the cardstock panel, and 5) Let it dry.
Once the panel was dried, I adhered it over a Limeade Splash folded card. Next, I stamped the sentiment over it with Black Licorice Ink and I addedJourney Glazeover the words (I always love using it to make the sentiments stand out). I have to say that this product doesn’t take too long to dry, so that is why I like it a lot!
This sale includes lots and lots of products that you can get for $1, $2, $3, $5or$10 …. Papers, inks, dies, embellishments…. and much more! Believe me, these are HUGE savings so please jump over to the shop and start filling up your cart!
Happy Monday everyone! Hero Arts has always been one of my favorites stamp companies so I am very excited to be part of the My Monthly Hero Blog Hop this month! This new wonderful kit will be available TODAY March 4th at the Hero Arts store, but be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. Kits begin shipping from Hero Arts on Friday, March 8th. I want to point out that you have the option to subscribe and receive the kit monthly and never miss one.
This fabulous kit contains: a 6″x8″ clear stamp set, a set of 27 coordinating Frame Cuts dies that match the stamp set, a 5.5 x 4.25 Aquarium Fancy Die, three Water Reactive Ink Cubes (Sea Salt, Sea Glass, Blue Water) and Blue and Green Droplets. The kit value is $75.99, an amazing deal at $34.99
I created a couple cards using the great products included in the kit, here is the first one:
I began by die cutting the Aquarium Fancy Die from green cardstock, then I placed it over a watercolor background just to see where I wanted to stamp some images. So I used the Sea Glass and Blue Water inks to stamp a few plants, a turtle and a small fish.
I also white-embossed the sentiment. I adhered the Aquarium frame over the stamped stamped panel and onto a folded green card. To complement the card I stamped the jellyfish image with Blue Water ink and die cut it with its matching die, I then adhered over the card using some foam tape. Of course I also included some yummy droplets as the final touches for this card.
The second card is similar to my first one but in this case I used the inks for the background. I want to point out that the ink cubes that are included in this kit are reactive to water so they are just perfect to create amazing backgrounds. I use a round small sponge dauber to apply the two colors over a white panel, and then I simply flicked water over with a thin brush.
As you can see is the same concept of the first card, just that I this case I used only the center part of the Aquarium die to make a frame. I have to say that this kit is a blast! Lots of images and clever sentiments.
As part of this blog hop, Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. The giveaway closes Sunday, March 10th at 11:59pm, and the winner will be announced the following week on the Hero Arts blog.
Please be sure to visit all the participants blogs in order to increase your chances of winning:
I can’t believe January is gone and Valentines Day is around the corner. I am not a big celebrator of that day, but I do like to cook or bake something yummy for my husband and sons… Sometimes I give a little something or a card to some of my friends, just a little reminder that they are important to me. How about you? Do you celebrate it?
As I said on my last post, I love challenges. Well, my Fun Stampers Journey partner and friend Laura Williams and I decided to challenge ourselves and have some fun creating. Lately, I have been struggling a bit with that mojo that sometimes needs a little push, so we came up with the idea of posting a sketch challenge. I created a fun sketch and we made a Valetines themed card from it. Take a look:
I have always loved participating in card challenges and I think they are a great way to keep those creative juices flowing! Well, today I am sharing a card that I made to participate in the current CASE this Sketch challenge.
One of the things I like about this challenge is the simplicity of their sketches. You can either build your card with layers and details or create a clean and simple card, it is up to you! So I thought this sketch was just right to showcase a pretty patterned paper that belongs to the Playful Printscollection by Fun Stampers Journey. I used both sides of the paper to create the diagonal sections of the card and I adhered them onto a Fresh Sage folded card.
Welcome to the Seasons Givings Blog Hop! This is my very first time participating in this fun event and I hope you have been enjoying the fantastic inspiration through the whole list of participants. Be aware that each of us has a giveaway for all of the enthusiastic commenters, so each time you hop there is a giveaway opportunity for you!
The intention of this hop is to THANK YOU! Thank you for visiting my blog all these years or if you happen to be a first time visitor please be sure to visit me again! I really enjoy reading comments and seeing my blog being busy with lots of visitors!
This new stamp set is amazing, and the images are just perfect to create beautiful cards. I have to point out that this amazing set has a coordinating die set which is an add-on product, and honestly it is worth having!
This card features a background created with strokes of Liquid Colors, and a stamped keys pattern using Black Licorice ink. The wings were stamped over Bubble Gum cardstock and die cut with its matching die. The sentiment was white-embossed over a Black Licorice cardstock strip and adhered over the card with foam squares. Last but not least were silver sequins along with some heart shapes covered with Journey Glaze and Journey Sparkle cuts. Simple yet pretty!
Well, well, well… the fabulous giveaway I have for one lucky commenter is this brand new, just released…
For your chance to win, please leave a comment. I will randomly pick a winner and I will announce the lucky name on Tuesday morning, January 8th. This giveaway is only open to addresses in the US.
Christmas always bring memories to my mind of my mom, my dad, my siblings and my childhood dreams back then. The nostalgic feeling brings me a chance to create my own happy memories with my family, hoping that when my sons have their own families, they will also make moments that they can treasure in the future, like I do now.
Anyhow, this quick post is also to wish you wonderful time with your loved ones…
I hope this day is blessed with happiness, joy, lots of love and yummy food!
