HA 2017 Valentine’s Collection Blog Hop

vday_bloghop_800

Welcome! Today I am happy to be joining this hop that celebrates the launch of the 2017 Valentine’s Collection in the Hero Arts store! Be sure to visit the Hero Arts store to see the complete collection!

As part of this launch, I created a card using three fabulous products which I definitely love: Destination Paris, Heart Pattern Bold Prints and the new Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies.

120716web_paris

I stamped the Heart Pattern Bold Prints over a card base ( Blush mix Layering Papers  -Carnation color) with Pale Tomato Shadow Ink. After that I stamped the Destination Paris image over Snow Layering paper with Intense Black Ink. I colored the image using Chameleon Markers and then, I die cut this panel into a large heart. I applied Glossy Accents and glitter over the colored image. I let this dry.

120716web_paris3

I also die cut a large heart from Blush mix Layering Papers  (Punch color) and I adhered this heart over the base card. I adhered the stamped heart over the card with foam tape (If you trim off the right side of the hearts before you adhere them, makes things easier). To finish off this card I simply added some sequins and thread.

For this special ocasion I created two cards. The first one, features images from the main kit. Check it:

120416web_cheers1

I created the background panel by simply using a sponge dauber and different colors of Hybrid inks. I love how the round sponge marks make sort of bokeh effect.  After that I stamped the bottle image over a piece of Snow layering paper, I colored it with Chameleon markers and I die cut the shape with its matching die.  I also die cut the Cheers fancy die from black card stock.

Once I had those elements ready I place them over the background panel, just to see where I was going to stamp the complementary text, little bubbles and sparks.  I used Intense Black ink to do that.  Finally, I adhered bottle and sentiment with foam tape, and I embellished with some sequins here and there.

120416web_cheers2

My second card features some of the Add-On products which I think are fabulous! Check it out:

120416web_celebrate1

This time I used the DI339 Party Confetti Fancy Die along with the dark blue metallic card stock. I adhered over a gold foil card stock panel  and then, over a Snow Layering paper card base. I used one  infinity die circle to die cut a frame for the champagne glasses, and  I gold embossed the bubbles (CM123 Birthday Celebration).  I adhered the circle over the card with foam tape.

120416web_celebrate2

Then, I die cut two of the glasses (DI343 Birthday Celebration Frame Cuts )  with Snow Layering paper and other two with gold foil card stock. I trimmed off the upper part of the gold ones with scissors, just because I wanted them to look like as if they were clinking 😉 Then I adhered the gold ones over the white ones. I   adhered them over the circle with foam tape as well. To finish off this card, I gold embossed the sentiment (CM123 Birthday Celebration) over a strip of dark blue metallic card stock, I adhered it over the circle and I embellished the card with some gold sequins.

As always Hero is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. Giveaway closes December 11 at 11:59pm, and the winner will be announced the following week. Here is the complete list of participant blogs:

HA 2016 Planner Catalog Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!

bloghop_600_logo

Today I am joining the launch of the Hero Arts 2016 Planner Catalog! This catalog is full of fun designs by both Hero Arts and talented Kelly Purkey! There is a a lot of great stuff to make planning fun, as well as to use it on cards and other projects! The products have been shipping to retailers for a couple weeks now, so you may have seen them out and about. But this blog hop marks the launch in the Hero Arts online store.

I created a few projects for the catalog, and I had a lot of fun mixing and matching different stamp sets to decorate some planner pages. This is not as difficult as it seems.  I promise!  You can make your planner pages as simple or as complex as you wish, and there is not such a thing as making mistakes!

101216web_palnnerpage

The other thing that you can do with this type of stamps, is that you can use them to make cards as well as other projects (tags, notes, etc.)

101216web_hellohello

To create the card above, I used the Calendar Bold Prints stamp to create the background over a Snow Layering Panel. I adhered it over a card base. Then, I used one of the dies included in the Everything Smiles Stamp & Cut set, to create the text bubbles. I used three different colors of Layering Papers and I stamped a”hello” sentiment with Intense Black ink. This sentiment is from another set called: Fun Day Planner.

101216web_hellohello2

I adhered three pieces of decorative tape over the card, and then I arranged the text bubbles. Additionally, I stamped some Emoji Icons over Snow Layering Paper. The Emoji Icons come in a Mini Tube, and they are one of my favorite HA products! I colored them with Copics, and I make them into a circle with a punch. I adhered the emojis over the card and I embellished the card with some enamel dots.

HA • Holiday Cardmaking Challenge

thumbnail

Hey there! I like this time of the year because is just perfect to start working on your Holiday cards. Today is the kick off  of the Holiday Cardmaking Challenge at the Hero Arts blog. I love that they do this, because it is a fun way to motivate you to start creating.  I created a card for today, using some of the products included in the 2016 Winter Catalog.

101016web_holidaygreetings1

I used a stamp set called Winter Scene + Die Combo to create the jar scene. I started by die-cutting the jar from Pool Mixed Layering Paper. I stamped the pine tree with Moss Hybrid Ink, and then I White-embossed the snow on the ground. I also Sparkle-embossed the falling snow. I stamped and die-cut the house and deer (Red Royal and Soft Brown Shadow Inks). I adhered the little deer with a glue dot, and the house with foam tape. I added sequins and  beads details.

101016web_holidaygreetings2

I stamped the jar image over acetate with StazOn ink, and I die-cut the piece with its matching die. I stamped the lid part over Blush Mix Layering Paper, and  I fussy cut it. I adhere the lid over the acetate piece. After that I adhere the acetate jar over the jar scene with foam tape behind the lid.  This creates dimension and it kind of simulates a real jar (according to me)  🙂

101016web_holidaygreetings3

The rest of the card were a few layers of stamped backgrounds over a Snow Layering Paper card base:

And the final touches: gemstones, pearls, sequins and hemp.

Of course Hero will be giving FIVE $50 Hero Arts shopping sprees awarded. The challenge runs October 10 – November 15. So you have plenty of time to create and participate. You can find more details by clicking >>> HERE<<<

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop • September

MMH_logo_1000x1197

Happy Monday everyone!

Today is the release day for the My Monthly Hero kit of September! This new wonderful kit will be available TODAY September 6 at 1pm (Eastern time) at the Hero Arts store. Be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone.

This month’s kit includes many beautiful products for the coming  Holidays season. Additionally, the stamps in this month’s kit feature talented Creative Team member Clare Prezzia‘s hand lettering 🙂 🙂 🙂

The main contains: A set of three Fancy Dies designed for building your own wreath,  4×6 clear stamp set, ten coordinating Frame Cuts dies, three ink cubes in Mustard, Rust and Deep Burgundy, six half sheets of cardstock (Kraft, Sunset Orange and Metallic Copper), Custom Freckled Fawn enamel dots in red, brown gems, Brown and Natural Jute twines. I want to point out that the kit value is over $65, which is an amazing deal at $34.99. Check it out:

There are three optional add-on items: DC197 Halloween Trimmings Stamp & Cut , DC195 Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut , DI327 Branch Wreath Fancy Die (D)

This kit is simply amazing. I love all the beautiful dies that are included in it and the endless possibilities for your projects! Today I am sharing a card that I created  using just a few of the items included in the kit.

I began by die-cutting the partial foliage branch from the Metallic Coper cardstock. Then I adhered it over a Snow Layering Paper card base. Then, I die-cut a tag shape (Infinity tags) from Kraft, and I layered it on top of the foliage with foam tape.

090516web_thankfulforyou

I  Gold-embossed  the sentiments over two thin strips of Sunset Orange card stock. I trimmed diagonally the left side of each strip, and  I layered them on top of the tag with foam tape.  I complemented the cluster with some small leaves that I die-cut from green card stock (I also  inked them a little bit directly with Pine Hybrid Ink). To finish off the card, I added twine, brown gemstones, gold and green silk sprinkles.

Hero Arts 2016 Winter Catalog Blog Hop

Hello, and Welcome!

Winter_bloghop_600.jpg

Today we are celebrating the launch of the Winter 2016 release in the Hero Arts store!! The products have been shipping to retailers for a few weeks now, so you may have seen them out and about. As of today, you can see and get all the new fabulous Winter products at the HA store. So exciting!

As part of this hop, I created a card using a Stamp + Die Combo that I definitely like a lot: Holiday Mittens. I always like to make some small Holiday cards, because I think they look super cute and they are just perfect to give to some of the students at school.

I thought about making three  cards from a single sheet of card stock instead of two. So,  I placed my 8.5″ x 11″sheet of Snow Layering Paper horizontally  into the trimmer, and I trimmed at 10.5″, 7″ and 3.5″. I folded each of the cards in half to created folded cards that measure 3.5″ x 4.25″

082116web_warmestw1

Then, I simply stamped the small mittens images using the colors of Mariana’s Pool ink cubes to create a pattern over the card front. Next, I used  the Soft Pool ink cube to color a piece of Snow Layering Paper, directly dabbing the pad over it. Additionally, I stamped the mittens image with Deep Ocean ink cube, and die cut the shapes.

082116web_warmestw2

After that, I stamped the mittens cord, and the sentiment over the stamped card. To finish off the card, I adhered the mittens with foam tape, and I added some clear gemstones. I also experimented creating another size of card: 3.5″ x 5.25″, which is also a nice size and you can see below:

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop • August

MMH_logo_1000x1197

Happy Monday everyone!

Today is the release day for the My Monthly Hero kit of August!  This new wonderful kit will be available TODAY August 1st at 1pm (Eastern time) at the Hero Arts store. Be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone.

This month’s kit was inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and features a gorgeous forest fairy theme. The main contains: a 4×6 clear stamp set, three matching Frame Cuts dies, An oval border with frame Fancy Die set, Pretty Pink Posh Droplets, Ranger Star Dust Stickles, Three ink cubes in Bubble Gum, Orchid and Green Apple, Woodgrain Cardstock and Vellum, Other gems and cardstock. Check it out:

MH0816_850x850.jpg

There are four optional add-on items as well: Floral Border with Frame Fancy Die,  Dreamy Nights Stencil, Dreams Are Made 4×6 clear stamp set, and Shakespearean Poetry 4×6 clear set. You can see them below:

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I like the mystical feeling of fairy lanterns, so the inspiration for my card came from them:

072816web_MMHaugust1

I used two different tones of inks and a sponge dauber to create the ombré background onto a snow layering paper panel. Then, I stamped the fairy image and sentiment with black ink. I filled in  the fairy outline with a black marker to create a silhouette.

072816web_MMHaugust2

I adhered the panel over a Black Layering paper card base, and after that, I used a black Snow Layering paper panel to die cut the forest oval border. I adhered this panel over the card with foam tape. Finally, I used Glossy Accents to add glitter over the fairy, and to adhere the clear droplets.

Well, as part of this release, Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. Here is the list of bloggers so you can get lots of inspiration:
