Hero Arts Winter 2020 Catalog Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!

Winter Catalog 2020

As part of this hop, I created two cards. For the first card, I used the Color Layering Gingerbread House Combo. This combo includes a stamp set and matching frame cuts. The color layering stamp sets are a lot of fun to play with and the Misti Mini Hero Black or the Misti Regular Black are a great help when using this kind of stamps.

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission from Hero Arts at no cost for you. Thanks!

So, I created a plaid background and then, I adhered this panel over a folded card. Next, I stamped the cute gingerbread house using different colors of ink. Additionally, I stamped the small images and I die cut all the images.

I continued to stamp the sentiment over a white cardstock square and I adhered it over the card with foam tape. I adhered the house and other tiny images also with foam tape to add dimension. Last but not least, I finish off this card with some enamel dots and some Glaze details.

The second card features the Fawn and Friends Combo and I paired it with a sentiment from a set called Comfort and Joy Messages.

This time I created a subtle background over a white panel. I adhered this panel onto a folded card . I also used the Staircase Fancy Die to be part of the background for the cute friends there. The doggie and kitty were simply stamped with black ink, colored with watercolors and die cut with their matching frame cuts.

I complemented the card with a sentiment an some gifts images also included in the Comfort and Joy Messages set. I colored those too and I finish off my card with some Glaze details and some enamel dots.

FSJ • Spread Christmas Cheer

Eventhough we are fast approaching the Holidays celebrations, I think there is still time to create a few more last minute cards. So today I am sharing a card that I created using one FSJ stamp set called Whimsy Trees.

One of the things that I love is creating my own card backgrounds. This time I simply used the three layers of pine tree images along with four different colors of ink: Cool Pool, Limeade Splash, Blue Lagoon and Rich Coral. To obtain crisp images, I re-inked the pads before I started stamping just to be sure my images were going to have a bright even color. After that, I adhered the panel over a Rich Coral folded card.

Then, I stamped the pine tree three times (using different colors) over a Hemstitch Rectangle (Whip Cream cardstock) and of course, I also stamped a sentiment. I adhered the rectangle over a vellum mat and I adhered the panel over the card using foam squares. Finally, I added some enamel stars and Journey Glaze over the sentiment. Super quick and easy last minute card!

FSJ • Stamp of the Month: Penguin Waddle

Hey there! I am beginning this month with a card featuring the Stamp of the Month by Fun Stampers Journey: Penguin Waddle. This cute set includes a bunch of adorable penguins and various sentiments which are great to create winter cards 😉 Take a look:

I began by creating the background using a Catalina Splash Cardstock panel, and I simply rubbed Whip Cream PanPastel over the panel in a circular motion from the center towards the edges to create an ombré effect. Then, I simply matted the panel with Watermelon Fusion Cardstock and adhered the panel over a Pool Play Cardstock folded card. I flicked some Sparkle Silk over the background too.

I die cut the hill from Whip Cream cardstock and adhered it onto the card. Then, I stamped the penguins with Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink, I colored their feet and beaks with a color pencil, and stamped those cute hats. This set doesn’t have a matching die set, but they are super easy to fussy-cut with your detail scissors. Finally, I white embossed a sentiment and die cut it into a heart shape. I adhered penguins and heart with foam squares and embellish with Fashion Silver pearls, a piece of Silver Sparkle Washi Tape and a Petal Clip.

Oh What Fun Catalog Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome! Today I am happy to be part of the Hero Arts...

Hero is celebrating the release of the new Oh What Fun Catalog that includes many new products that I am sure you would like to have for the upcoming Holiday season. Please be sure to visit the Hero Arts shop so you can see them and start making your wish list!

So, I created a card using a few products included in the catalog. This time, I used my Misti to stamp the Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints over white cardstock. I started by inking the central area of the stamp with Soft Sky shadow ink, then I added Dusty Blue and Cornflower Shadow Inks towards the edges, to obtain an ombré effect. I repeated this until I got the stamped results I was looking for.

Next, I used the Joy Stamp & Cut set to stamp the large word with Light to Red Royal Ombré ink and the complementary words with Intense Black Ink.

I adhered the panel over a blue folded card, I added Journey Glaze over the word Joy, and I embellished the card with Silver Twine and some clear dots.

My second project were a couple of simple tags, that you see below:

I die cut the tags using the Tag Infinity Dies from light blue cardstock then, I die cut the Snowy Drifts Fancy Dies from white cardstock. I adhered those pieces to the lower part of the tags, and I stamped a sentiments “To: and From:” from the Christmas Messages stamp set with Intense Black Ink. I also stamped a bow from the Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut set using Pale Tomato shadow Ink and Strawberry Bold Ink. Of course, at the end I added some tiny gemstones, Sparkle Silk and red bakers twine.

As part of this blog hop, Hero Arts will giveaway $50 gift cards to the Hero Arts shop to two lucky winners drawn from all comments left across the hop. Comment by August 31 at 11:59 PST. Winners will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

The New FSJ Holiday Cheer Collection is here!

Oh, Yes! Fun Stampers Journey has just released their new Holiday Cheer Collection, and it it amazing!

The Holidays Season is not far from now, and obviously we all like having new products to begin creating for those important months to come. So today I am sharing two products that I created using two of my favorite stamp sets from the Holiday Cheer release.

My first card features a very cute set called Yeti Confetti. This is a fun set that includes images that you can use all along the Winter season. So, here you have it:

To create the background I used Lovely Blue Liquid Color along with shaving cream. I made a mix with those and transferred a bit of the the mix over an acrylic block, just enough to make a rectangular mark. Then I placed the block over a Whip Cream panel, removed the excess and let it dry.

To complement the background, I white-embossed some snowflakes, as well as a sentiment over a Black Licorice cardstock strip. The cute Yeti images were colored with Liquid Colors and I added some Journey Glaze details to them. Last but not least, I embellished the card with Fashion Silver pearls, Gift twine and a button (Holiday Mix and Match Embellishment pack).

The second card features one ATS stamp called Fall Thanks and it includes a big solid sentiment along with some small Fall related images. Take a look:

To create the background I used the same technique as the one from my first card, but this time using two different liquid colors. Quick and easy. So, for the beautiful sentiment I used one of the Create-a-Palette pads to create my own combo of Liquid Colors, and I used it to ink the large sentiment.

I really like these pads and the beautiful ombré effects that you can achieve with your own color combinations, so much fun!. So, I die cut the sentiment with its matching die, I added Journey Glaze and Sparkle Cuts and I let the piece dry. Meanwhile I die cut a rectangular frame from Whip Cream cardstock using the Fancy Edged Rectangles die set by Spellbinders.

I adhered this frame over the background panel, and then I adhered the sentiment with Journey squares. I finished up this card with some Sparkle Silk (a must have FSJ product!) and some Fashion Silver pearls.

I highly recommend you to to see the >>>new Holiday Cheer catalog <<< There are a lot of new stamps and lots of inspiration for you. If you missed the launch show, you can watch it by clicking >>> HERE <<< there were Guest designers, amazing card designs and a lot of fun.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas always bring memories to my mind of my mom, my dad, my siblings and my childhood dreams back then. The nostalgic feeling brings me a chance to create my own happy memories with my family, hoping that when my sons have their own families, they will also make moments that they can treasure in the future, like I do now.

Anyhow, this quick post is also to wish you wonderful time with your loved ones…

I hope this day is blessed with happiness, joy, lots of love and yummy food!

FSJ • Merry Christmas Card + Sketch

Don’t you like it when you can create a card that is easy to duplicate? I love when I can have my little assembly line and save some time when making several cards at a time. Today I am sharing a card that might work that way. I made it using a few Fun Stamper Journey products, so I hope you get some inspiration from me. Take a look:

I began by putting two strips of washi tape over a Whip Cream cardstock panel (Holiday Fun + Candy Apple washi tapes). Then, I adhered the panel over a Candy Apple folded card. After that, I die cut a hexagon from Whip Cream cardstock, and a pine shape from Kiwi Slice cardstock. I adhered the hexagon onto the card front and the pine tree shape over the hexagon using Journey foam squares. I want to point out that the pine tree shape belongs to a great die set called : Special Day Tags, and I consider it one of those “must have” in your stash!

The sentiment that I used belongs to a set called Holiday Joy and it was white-embossed over a Black Licorice cardstock strip.  I adhered it onto the card with Journey Foam Squares and I simply complemented the card with three pretty Holiday Sparkles.

Here you have the sketch for this card.Remember that sketches are versatile and you can always give them your personal spin!

FSJ • Stay Cozy Card

It’s that time of the year when days start being shorter and seems the hours are  not enough  because, there is a lot of things to do and accomplish before the end of the year. Well, besides other things I have been trying to do, I have been working hard to share a bit more cards this month. So today I have another wintery card! This one showcases a pretty Fun Stampers Journey stamp set called Stay Cozy.

I used an embossing folder called Cozy Knit to emboss a  Cool Pool cardstock panel and then,  I adhered it over a Cranberry Bliss cardstock folded card. After that I die cut two circles. One using the Circles Around die set and a b/w plaid print from the  Cozy Prints paper pack. The other pierced circle was die cut using the Journey Circles die set and Whip Cream cardstock. I want to point out that the circles from both of these sets are different so you can have more circle size options. I also used a strip of red plaid print and a piece of Silver Sparkle Washi Tape to create a few layers over the card, alternating the elements: tape, plaid circle, paper strip, pierced circle.

Next, I stamped the darling snowy village scene onto Whip Cream cardstock using Black Licorice ink. I colored the image using Color Burst Color Pencils and I added Journey Glaze and Sparkle cuts. I trimmed around the image with scissors and andhered the piece onto the pierced circle with Journey Foam squares. I  complemented the card with a  white-embossed sentiment over a Black Licorice cardstock circle,  and I finished it up  with a couple of staples and some silver sequins.

FSJ • It’s Cold Outside

It’s cold outside, indeed! Low temperatures make me want to stay home all day wearing my pjs and just play in my craft room! Well, since I have been doing some extra holidays cards here and there, today I want to share another one, featuring a cute stamp set by Fun Stampers Journey called It’s Cold Outside.

The card itself is quite simple. The background was made using the Tiny Dots embossing folder over a Whip Cream cardstock panel. Then, I rounded the four corners and adhered it over a Tin Pail folded card.

The images were stamped with Black Licorice ink onto Whip Cream cardstock and then die cut with its matching die. To color the images I used Liquid Colors and a small blending brush. The brownish color of the squirrel was made by mixing Orange Creamsicle and a little bit of River Stone.  If you see, the coloring does not have to be perfect, the images are very cute by themselves. The final touches for this card were gemstones and a Frosted Forest sticker.  Quick and easy.

FSJ • Inspired By | Holly Jolly Christmas

Sometimes when creating, and you are not pretty sure how to tackle a project, simplicity can make wonders. So, inspired by my talented friend Kim Kesti and this amazing card of hers, I created a card, using the same Fun Stampers Journey stamp set and the same design concept, take a look:

Rather than using very bright colors like Kim’s card,  I went for the route of  more traditional colors. The pretty set that we used is called Deck the Halls and the images included in it are perfect to create a fireplace Christmas scene. I began my card by stamping the fireplace, wreath and sentiment with Black Licorice ink over a Whip Cream panel. I matted the panel with one Cozy Prints Printed Paper rectangle, and I adhered the panel over a Kiwi Slice folded card.

The concept design of pop of color is simply genius. I stamped the bow, stocking and presents with Black Licorice ink over different colors of cardstock (Chambray Shirt, Candy Apple, Limeade Splash. Then, I fussy cut those images and adhered them onto the card front. I used foam tape to add dimension to some of those elements. To finish up this card, I added a Journey Glaze to the sentiment and I put a few Party Burst dots over the wreath.  Easy, pretty and fun.
