Hero Arts Winter 2020 Catalog Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!

Today we are celebrating the launch of the Winter 2020 Catalog Release in the Hero Arts store with a fun inspirational Blog Hop. As of today, you can see and get all the new fabulous Winter products at the HA store. Very exciting! Check it out:

As part of this hop, I created two cards. For the first card, I used the Color Layering Gingerbread House Combo. This combo includes a stamp set and matching frame cuts. The color layering stamp sets are a lot of fun to play with and the Misti Mini Hero Black or the Misti Regular Black are a great help when using this kind of stamps.

So, I created a plaid background and then, I adhered this panel over a folded card. Next, I stamped the cute gingerbread house using different colors of ink. Additionally, I stamped the small images and I die cut all the images.

I continued to stamp the sentiment over a white cardstock square and I adhered it over the card with foam tape. I adhered the house and other tiny images also with foam tape to add dimension. Last but not least, I finish off this card with some enamel dots and some Glaze details.

The second card features the Fawn and Friends Combo and I paired it with a sentiment from a set called Comfort and Joy Messages.

This time I created a subtle background over a white panel. I adhered this panel onto a folded card . I also used the Staircase Fancy Die to be part of the background for the cute friends there. The doggie and kitty were simply stamped with black ink, colored with watercolors and die cut with their matching frame cuts.

I complemented the card with a sentiment an some gifts images also included in the Comfort and Joy Messages set. I colored those too and I finish off my card with some Glaze details and some enamel dots.

FSJ • Spread Christmas Cheer

Eventhough we are fast approaching the Holidays celebrations, I think there is still time to create a few more last minute cards. So today I am sharing a card that I created using one FSJ stamp set called Whimsy Trees.

One of the things that I love is creating my own card backgrounds. This time I simply used the three layers of pine tree images along with four different colors of ink: Cool Pool, Limeade Splash, Blue Lagoon and Rich Coral. To obtain crisp images, I re-inked the pads before I started stamping just to be sure my images were going to have a bright even color. After that, I adhered the panel over a Rich Coral folded card.

Then, I stamped the pine tree three times (using different colors) over a Hemstitch Rectangle (Whip Cream cardstock) and of course, I also stamped a sentiment. I adhered the rectangle over a vellum mat and I adhered the panel over the card using foam squares. Finally, I added some enamel stars and Journey Glaze over the sentiment. Super quick and easy last minute card!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Quick post today just to wish, that you all have a great time with your loved ones celebrating and creating new memories together on Thanksgiving.

I also want to share a card featuring some of my favorites stamps from the FSJ Holiday collection: Fall Thanks and Happy Harvest. For this card I selected a non-traditional colors combo, take a look…

I used Journey Color Burst color pencils to color the pretty scarecrow and the small images, I added Journey Glaze + Sparkle Cuts details over them to make them shine. Then, I simply fussy-cut the images with scissors.

I also created a pallete of Liquid Colors using a Create-a-Palette pad and then, I stamped the sentiment over Whip Cream cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with its matching die, and after that I arranged all the images over a Whip Cream panel. I embellished the card with a few All the Things Embellishments and adhered the panel over a Sweet Pear folded card.

This time I created three projects using some of the add-on products. The first card features the Tri-fold Edge Winter Pine Fancy Dies:

This is quite a simple card design where I die cut two of the dies to create a double layered card. I adhered them over a subtle background and I included a gold-embossed sentiment from the May your Home be filled with Joy stamp set. I embellished this card with just a few gold sequins.

My second card showcases one of my favorites sets of this release, the Christmas Gingerbread Cookies…

I stamped the images with Intense Black Ink and I colored them with markers. I die cut the images with their matching dies. The sentiment was white-embossed over black cardstock, and then I die cut it into a label using one the dies included in the Holiday Meal Stamp and Cut set. I arranged and adhered the images over a subtle background sprinkled with Sparkle Silk.

My third project features a fun set called Mountain of Joy and its matching frame cuts:

I stamped the large image with Intense Black Ink and colored with markers without adding details of light or shadows… Then I added Glaze with Sparkle cut details over the bows and the ornaments. To create the background I put polka dot decorative tape over a white panel, then I adhered the colored image and I included a white-embossed sentiment to finish up this card.

FSJ • Stamp of the Month: Mistletoe & Holly

Hard to believe that we are already in November and of course, this means that a new Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month has just been released. So, this month’s wonderful set is called Mistletoe & Holly, and it features a couple of adorable fawn images along with some other complementary images and sentiments.

I began by creating the background using a sponge dauber and Limeade Splash Liquid Color. Then, I stamped the fawn and the leaf images with Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink over Whip Cream cardstock. I colored them with Journey Color Burst color pencils and I added some Journey Glaze details.

I fussy-cut the images with detail shears and arranged them over a Nestabilities Hemstitch Circle . I complemented with a sentiment, and a long vertical banner. I finished up this card with a silver Tag Clip w/ a Journey Twine Candy Apple bow, a few Holiday Elements sequins and some tiny Fashion Silver pearls.

FSJ • Stamp of the Month: Joyous Bird

Hello, hello ! I am back today to share a project that I created with the brand new Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month! The name of this pretty set is Joyous Bird and it features images perfect to create Christmas cards, tags, etc.

So, using the main image I created this card:

The background was simply created with Lovely Blue Pearl Splash. I applied the color over a large acrylic block and I picked up the color with a Whip Cream cardstock panel, and then I also splashed a bit more to add tiny color dots of. Once the panel was dried, I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice ink. I also stamped the branch and the dove over Whip Cream cardstock. To color the image I used my Journey Color Burst color pencils. I was actually coloring the tiny details inside and outside of the lines, just to make the colors pop a bit more.

I matted the background panel with Limeade Splash cardstock and then I adhered it over a Candy Apple folded card. After that I adhered the dove and branch with foam squares. Finally, I embellished it with Fashion Silver pearls and of course I applied Journey Glaze details!

Oh What Fun Catalog Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome! Today I am happy to be part of the Hero Arts...

Hero is celebrating the release of the new Oh What Fun Catalog that includes many new products that I am sure you would like to have for the upcoming Holiday season. Please be sure to visit the Hero Arts shop so you can see them and start making your wish list!

So, I created a card using a few products included in the catalog. This time, I used my Misti to stamp the Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints over white cardstock. I started by inking the central area of the stamp with Soft Sky shadow ink, then I added Dusty Blue and Cornflower Shadow Inks towards the edges, to obtain an ombré effect. I repeated this until I got the stamped results I was looking for.

Next, I used the Joy Stamp & Cut set to stamp the large word with Light to Red Royal Ombré ink and the complementary words with Intense Black Ink.

I adhered the panel over a blue folded card, I added Journey Glaze over the word Joy, and I embellished the card with Silver Twine and some clear dots.

My second project were a couple of simple tags, that you see below:

I die cut the tags using the Tag Infinity Dies from light blue cardstock then, I die cut the Snowy Drifts Fancy Dies from white cardstock. I adhered those pieces to the lower part of the tags, and I stamped a sentiments “To: and From:” from the Christmas Messages stamp set with Intense Black Ink. I also stamped a bow from the Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut set using Pale Tomato shadow Ink and Strawberry Bold Ink. Of course, at the end I added some tiny gemstones, Sparkle Silk and red bakers twine.

The New FSJ Holiday Cheer Collection is here!

Oh, Yes! Fun Stampers Journey has just released their new Holiday Cheer Collection, and it it amazing!

The Holidays Season is not far from now, and obviously we all like having new products to begin creating for those important months to come. So today I am sharing two products that I created using two of my favorite stamp sets from the Holiday Cheer release.

My first card features a very cute set called Yeti Confetti. This is a fun set that includes images that you can use all along the Winter season. So, here you have it:

To create the background I used Lovely Blue Liquid Color along with shaving cream. I made a mix with those and transferred a bit of the the mix over an acrylic block, just enough to make a rectangular mark. Then I placed the block over a Whip Cream panel, removed the excess and let it dry.

To complement the background, I white-embossed some snowflakes, as well as a sentiment over a Black Licorice cardstock strip. The cute Yeti images were colored with Liquid Colors and I added some Journey Glaze details to them. Last but not least, I embellished the card with Fashion Silver pearls, Gift twine and a button (Holiday Mix and Match Embellishment pack).

The second card features one ATS stamp called Fall Thanks and it includes a big solid sentiment along with some small Fall related images. Take a look:

To create the background I used the same technique as the one from my first card, but this time using two different liquid colors. Quick and easy. So, for the beautiful sentiment I used one of the Create-a-Palette pads to create my own combo of Liquid Colors, and I used it to ink the large sentiment.

I really like these pads and the beautiful ombré effects that you can achieve with your own color combinations, so much fun!. So, I die cut the sentiment with its matching die, I added Journey Glaze and Sparkle Cuts and I let the piece dry. Meanwhile I die cut a rectangular frame from Whip Cream cardstock using the Fancy Edged Rectangles die set by Spellbinders.

I adhered this frame over the background panel, and then I adhered the sentiment with Journey squares. I finished up this card with some Sparkle Silk (a must have FSJ product!) and some Fashion Silver pearls.

FSJ • USA Land That I love!

This is just a quick post to wish everyone a Happy Memorial day and to share a card that I created using a fabulous Fun Stampers Journey stamp set called Old Glory, which is perfect to create project for important days like today or the 4th of July:

The color combo that I used for today’s card is Pool Play, Catalina Splash, Candy Apple and Whip Cream. I created a simple background with the word “Liberty” and I placed it diagonally over a folded card. I also stamped the stars and stripes strips and placed them over the background. I die cut a couple of circles from Whip Cream cardstock, and I stamped the sentiment over one of them.

I stamped the different elements over Whip Cream cardstock and I die cut them with their matching die. I arranged them over the card and I finished it up with Sparkle Silk, silver pearls and a red star dot.

Well, I hope you all have the opportunity to spend time with family and friends, and maybe can attend to a parade or event to honor the brave men and women who have died serving our country.

Good Luck Cards + FSJ & SB Online Warehouse Sale

Hello friends! I have a couple of projects to share today. The month of March is literally flying by and I can’t believe we will be celebrating St. Patricks Day this weekend! Do you celebrate it? Well, we are not Irish, but I think it is fun to pretend we are and wear something green that day, or have the excuse to make a card to give it to a friend or family member, don’t you think?

Anyhow, as I said in the beginning, I created two cards for this Irish day featuring an ATS stamp set called ExtraLucky and the Lucky Clovers Die Set.  If you have seen some of my projecst before, you should know that I love creating backgrounds with Liquid Colors, so I created one using my JourneyGel Press, Limeade Splash and Sweet Pear Liquid Colors, a brayer along with a Whip Cream cardstock panel. The steps are simple: 1) Apply liquid colors over the gel press, 2) Spray a bit of water, 3) Spread the colors with the brayer, 4) Pick up the color with the cardstock panel, and 5) Let it dry.

Once the panel was dried, I adhered it over a Limeade Splash folded card. Next, I stamped the sentiment over it with Black Licorice Ink and I added Journey Glaze over the words (I always love using it to make the sentiments stand out). I have to say that this product doesn’t take too long to dry, so that is why I like it a lot!

Next, I die cut a clover from Kiwi Slice cardstock. I continued my project by adhering the clover over the card front with foam squares. To finish up this card I used Black Licorice Silk, some green sequins and Lemon Grass thread.

For my second project, I used the Note Pocket Die to create a Sweet Pear cardstock pocket for a small card. After I assembled the pocket, I adorned it with a couple strips of Journey tape and a clover that I die cut from Limeade Splash cardstock. Quick and easy!

Then, I created a folded card from Whip Cream cardstock, and I stamped some Sweet Pear clovers over the card front and a sentiment with Black Licorice ink. As always, I also added Journey Glaze over the words to make the sentiment shine!      I flicked some Gold Silk onto the card and I embellished it with some gold sequins. Finally, I tucked the card into the pocket and I added a clip and Lemon Grass thread bow to finish up this card.
