FSJ • Llama Riding

One of the many things that I like about scrapbooking is that every moment captured in a photograph is a scrapbook page opportunity… at least that is the way I look at it. My sons are young men now, and from each of them I have pictures that I love when they were kids, so since I don’t work on my pages in a chronological order, it doesn’t really matter if I’m using an old or new picture to create a page. Any picture that I choose and make into a scrapbook page makes me remember about it, and makes me smile again.

Today I am sharing a page that I created a few weeks ago, using Fun Stampers Journey products along with one fabulous sketch by the talented Laura Whitaker.  I had a lot of fun creating this page, specially because I had the chance to use many great products like the No-Prob-llama stamp set, which  I thought it was just perfect for my son’s picture riding a llama:

061118web_llamapage1

I have to confess that I am not a fast scrapbooker, so that is why sometimes I like to rely on pre-design sketches. They save me time, but still have the freedom to play with balancing colors, textures and images. Anyways, to create all those layers I used the Lots of Dots die  to make the long Candy Apple banner, along with one of the papers from the Birthday Pop Printed  papers. I also chose other cardstock colors that coordinate with my picture and colorful dots paper.

061118web_llamapage5

As for the title I used the Solid Bet  stamp set and the Outline Bet die set . I completed the title with the Sunshine Alphabet stickers.  The Notebook Page die that I put behind the title is one of my favorite dies, because it is very versatile! Anyhow, I also stamped a sentiment over a piece of Candy Apple cardstock strip,  and I added some other embellishments like the text bubble, a wooden heart and a couple of paper clips (glasses and note).

061118web_llamapage3

For the top and bottom parts of the page I added a border from the Borders Details die set.  To complete my page I also included the super cute llama image from the No-Prob-llama stamp set, and some Sweet Candy drops here and there. I think the final touches of every project I make are always the most fun ones!

FSJ • A Day in the City

The 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page size has always been my favorite to work with since the large size gives you plenty of room for pictures and many products like patterned papers and embellishments. However, I also have done some of my pages in 8″ x 8″ or 6″ x 8″ sizes. These last two, are fun since you can finish a page faster, but the size of the page kind of limits the amount of details and pictures you can use. Anyhow, I was curious about trying another size for a page: 8.5″ x 11″ or Letter size. I have seen many  scrapbookers creating using this size and they always seem to achieve beautiful pages where the amount of elements seems to be just right.

Well, today I am sharing a letter size page that I made using wonderful Fun Stampers Journey products to document a short visit to the city that my husband and I did last year. I won’t be describing each of the steps I followed to create this page but I will highlight a few of them.

020418web_adayinthecity8

I used the clouds paper that is included in the Spring Filled Prints pack, as the background for the double layer of buildings I made with the Hero City die. For the other part of the page, I used the dotted paper included in the Birthday Pop Prints pack. To disguise the joint in between, and to connect the upper and bottom parts of the page, I used two lines of Journey Tape. You can barely see them since the pictures and title are right on top of them.

020418web_adayinthecity5

For the word “city” I aligned the letters on an acrylic block leaving enough space in between them, so I could die cut them later. I inked the whole letters with Beach Ball ink and then, using a sponge dauber and Huckleberry Fusion Ink, I applied color over half of each letter to achieve an ombré effect. This part has to be done fast because you don’t want the ink to dry over the stamp. For this step be sure that both of your ink pads are quite juicy.

020418web_adayinthecity6

For the words “A Day in The”, I stamped each letter with Black Licorice Ink and I die cut each of them with their matching die. I used a circle as a base to adhere the letters. Using a circle was in part, because we rode the Ferris wheel 😉 and because I could put more letters along the circle than if I tried to put them all in a straight line over the word “city”. I think they fit and look better. Besides that, I punched a couple of hearts using Mirror Gold cardstock, just to embellish and link both lines of the title.

020418web_adayinthecity7

Besides the pictures, I also used the memorabilia from that day as part of my page. Since the page already had a lot of elements so far, I did not want to add that many embellishments, so I only used a bubble text, a piece of view film, and a camera clip. Overall I can say that I liked the letter size for a page, I made it quite fast, and I loved how my page turned out at the end.

FSJ • Happy Birthday Card

Since the Bloom This Way mini catalog was released, I have been having a a lot of fun creating with some of the great products included in it. If you are curious about this fabulous catalog, please click >>>HERE<<< so you can see it!

Today I am sharing a fun card using one of my favorites sets from this catalog: Story Book Occasions.  So, I chose the little lamb image and I stamped it three times with Black Licorice Ink over a Whip Cream cardstock  panel. To achieve the overlapped images I made a mask with a sticky note.

011018web_lHappyBday

Then, I die cut the panel into a pierced rectangle. I also gave the images a hint of color  with my Color Burst pencils and using a craft knife I cut out the balloons centers to create three mini shaker windows.  I used a little bit of Clear Sparkle Confetti to fill in the tiny windows. I matted the panel with Cool Pool cardstock.

011018web_lHappyBday2

After that, I layered a Spring Filled Print rectangle over a Bubble Gum card base, and adhered the shaker panel on top of it.  Last, I finished up the card with a sentiment, Sparkle silk, Bubble Gum Thread and a Fun Day Elements paper clip.

Please don’t forget that this month’s promotion is still going on:

Fun Stampers Journey has recently released the new Bloom This Way mini catalog which includes lots of new products perfect for the upcoming important festivities on our calendars!

Today I am sharing a card that I created using a super cute Host Exclusive stamp set  called Bug Love and its matching die set. Take a look:

011018web_lovebug

To create my card, I stamped a Watermelon Fusion panel  using Black Licorice ink and a background stamp called Graduated Dots. I adhered this panel onto a Black Licorice card base.

I stamped the pretty lady bug image and sentiment over Whip Cream cardstock with Black Licorice Ink. I colored the bug with Candy Apple and River Stone Liquid Colors and I die cut both shapes with their matching dies. After that, I added Journey Glaze details and I let them dry.

011018web_lovebug2

I also die cut two hearts from Bubble Gum cardstock and a different heart from  Sweet Berry cardstock to create a base of layers underneath the sentiment and lady bug. I finished up m card with Journey tape, Sparkle silk and some yummy heart shaped dots.

One of the advantages of hosting a Fun Stampers party is, besides spending time with your friends creating,  you have the opportunity to purchase some exclusive items like the Bug Love 🙂 If you are curious about how to host a party and get to know more about the fabulous Fun Stampers products, please be sure to visit their website and search for a coach in your area.

FSJ Concept Designers Gel Press Print Swap

The FSJ Concept Designers have been having a little fun together (well, a LOT of fun) and today we want to show you what we’ve been working on! We had ourselves a little print swap. The six of us divided up into pairs. Three of the designers created an 8.5×11″ print on the Journey Gel Press. Then they cut their print in half and sent half to their partner. Each partner created a card using that print, and today we’re going to share what we’ve created! It was a really fun swap and I can’t wait to see all three of the prints, and how each designer used their print on a project!
I was one of the designers that made an 8.5×11″ print, and I created it by using warm acrylic paint tones  (I was thinking of the Fall season ), with a pop of white. I really liked how it turned out ! Besides the acrylic paints, I used stencils and modeling paste. This is my half:
DSC_0373

I mailed the other half of the print to my partner for the swap who is Michelle, and  I have created this card with my half:
112317web_thankscard

Since the colors were warm, I thought about making a thank you card for the Fall season. I used the Journey Gel Press print to make a background for the card, and I paired it with a thank you sentiment from a set called: Summer Garden.  I also used one Foiled Frame, some leaves and a zig-zag border.
112317web_thankscard4
To finish up my card I used some Gold Fashion dots and Gold ThreadSo now, if you haven’t visited Michelle yet, please click here to see what she has come up with her half!
Then, hop around to the rest of the teams, and see the prints they created, plus how they each used those prints!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of the swap stops, and don’t forget to pin everyone’s projects for inspiration later on!”

FSJ • All Hallows’ Eve Card

Hello friends, I am back today to share a card that I created using some Fun Stampers Journey products.  I want to point out that this time I  used a simple and fun  SplitcoastStamper sketch (SCS664) to create my card.

092917web_hallows2

The stamp set that I used is called Hallows’Eve and it is  included in the Journey Holiday Mini. I want to mention that this set is a Host Exclusive product. To learn more about how to host a Make-It Party, please click >HERE<  This set in particular is a large set with thirty one stamps. All the images included are very cute and they are perfect to use for Halloween themed projects.

I also used a background stamp called Widow’s Web, and I simply stamped it with Tangerine Fusion ink over Citrus Cooler cardstock. The little figures were stamped with  Black Licorice ink  onto Whip Cream cardstock.  I added some details with Journey Color Splash watercolor pencils and then cut trimmed the tiny images with scissors.

092917web_hallows1

To create an ombré effect for the the little spooky house image, I inked the stamp with three different tones of purple (Pretty Amethyst, Lavender Fusion and Grape Fusion). Then,  I stamped the sentiment over a pierced oval matted with a larger vellum oval.   I layered all the elements of the card and I added a few other things to complement the cute scene: Journey tape, sequins and Sparkle silk.

By the way, a new fun promotion has started at Fun Stampers Journey, check it out:

FSJ • Praying for You

Hi there! I have always liked to create my own backgrounds. Sometimes when I am just playing with some fun products like the Fun Stampers Liquid Colors and the Journey Gel Press, it is hard to stop… I usually end up making many backgrounds! Today I am sharing a card that I made using one of those backgrounds along with some other products by Fun Stampers Journey

081217web_prayingforyou

To create the background I simply put Lemon Drop and Fresh Forest Liquid color drops over the Journey Gel Press. Then, I sprayed a little bit of water with a mister  and  I spread the color with a brayer. I waited a few seconds until dots of color were formed over the Journey Gel Press and then I placed a Whip Cream panel over to pick up the color.  The beautiful flowers image is from a set called Beauty Blooms. To give the stamped image an ombré effect, I applied different colors of ink over the stamp with sponge daubers. To complement the focal point, I stamped a sentiment with Black Licorice ink over a strip of Whip Cream cardstock. Then, I fussy-cut the images with my favorite scissors, the Details Pro Shears!

081217web_prayingforyou2

I also die cut a tag from Fresh Forest cardtsock and then, I  layered all the card components using foam squares. I added some details like Journey tape, rainbow drops, Natural Thread, and a vellum strip behind the sentiment.  I was very happy with the results.
