FSJ • Merry & Bright Card

I love when you can mix and match stamp sets to create cards. Today I am sharing a card that I created using three different Fun Stampers Journey stamp sets: Snowmen Days, Sparkle Trims and All Roads.

I began this card by creating a Whip Cream cardstockpanel. I stamped a Christmas tree image with two colors: Limeade Splash and Kiwi Slice. I inked the stamp image with the lighter color first and then, with the darker color  to create a subtle ombré effect.  After that, I adhered the panel over a Cool Pool cardstock mat and then, onto a Kiwi Slicefolded card.

The cute snowmen were stamped with Black Licorice Ink and colored with Color Burst color Pencils. Next, I die cut them with their matching dies and I added some Journey Glaze + Sparkle cuts details. After that, I adhered both elements over the card with Journey Foam squares.

The sentiment was white-embossed over  Black Licorice cardstockand die cut into a small stitched circle.  I placed a couple of washi-tape strips underneath the sentiment (the red stripes washi was trimmed  into a thin strip) and then, I adhered the sentiment with a Journey Foam square. I finished this card up with some Party Burst dots,  a tag clip and Gift twine. I love how this card turned out, the snowmen are super cute and fun.

FSJ • Stay Cozy Card

It’s that time of the year when days start being shorter and seems the hours are  not enough  because, there is a lot of things to do and accomplish before the end of the year. Well, besides other things I have been trying to do, I have been working hard to share a bit more cards this month. So today I have another wintery card! This one showcases a pretty Fun Stampers Journey stamp set called Stay Cozy.

I used an embossing folder called Cozy Knit to emboss a  Cool Pool cardstock panel and then,  I adhered it over a Cranberry Bliss cardstock folded card. After that I die cut two circles. One using the Circles Around die set and a b/w plaid print from the  Cozy Prints paper pack. The other pierced circle was die cut using the Journey Circles die set and Whip Cream cardstock. I want to point out that the circles from both of these sets are different so you can have more circle size options. I also used a strip of red plaid print and a piece of Silver Sparkle Washi Tape to create a few layers over the card, alternating the elements: tape, plaid circle, paper strip, pierced circle.

Next, I stamped the darling snowy village scene onto Whip Cream cardstock using Black Licorice ink. I colored the image using Color Burst Color Pencils and I added Journey Glaze and Sparkle cuts. I trimmed around the image with scissors and andhered the piece onto the pierced circle with Journey Foam squares. I  complemented the card with a  white-embossed sentiment over a Black Licorice cardstock circle,  and I finished it up  with a couple of staples and some silver sequins.

FSJ • It’s Cold Outside

It’s cold outside, indeed! Low temperatures make me want to stay home all day wearing my pjs and just play in my craft room! Well, since I have been doing some extra holidays cards here and there, today I want to share another one, featuring a cute stamp set by Fun Stampers Journey called It’s Cold Outside.

The card itself is quite simple. The background was made using the Tiny Dots embossing folder over a Whip Cream cardstock panel. Then, I rounded the four corners and adhered it over a Tin Pail folded card.

The images were stamped with Black Licorice ink onto Whip Cream cardstock and then die cut with its matching die. To color the images I used Liquid Colors and a small blending brush. The brownish color of the squirrel was made by mixing Orange Creamsicle and a little bit of River Stone.  If you see, the coloring does not have to be perfect, the images are very cute by themselves. The final touches for this card were gemstones and a Frosted Forest sticker.  Quick and easy.

FSJ • Inspired By | Holly Jolly Christmas

Sometimes when creating, and you are not pretty sure how to tackle a project, simplicity can make wonders. So, inspired by my talented friend Kim Kesti and this amazing card of hers, I created a card, using the same Fun Stampers Journey stamp set and the same design concept, take a look:

Rather than using very bright colors like Kim’s card,  I went for the route of  more traditional colors. The pretty set that we used is called Deck the Halls and the images included in it are perfect to create a fireplace Christmas scene. I began my card by stamping the fireplace, wreath and sentiment with Black Licorice ink over a Whip Cream panel. I matted the panel with one Cozy Prints Printed Paper rectangle, and I adhered the panel over a Kiwi Slice folded card.

The concept design of pop of color is simply genius. I stamped the bow, stocking and presents with Black Licorice ink over different colors of cardstock (Chambray Shirt, Candy Apple, Limeade Splash. Then, I fussy cut those images and adhered them onto the card front. I used foam tape to add dimension to some of those elements. To finish up this card, I added a Journey Glaze to the sentiment and I put a few Party Burst dots over the wreath.  Easy, pretty and fun.

FSJ • A Hug in a Mug Card

Coffee and tea are always part of my creative process, specially on cold days and when I am making my cards late at night! So today I want to share a card that I created using the stamp set included in the Fun Stampers Journey November Bloom Box Kit which is called Cup of Tea

This set includes a couple of cute tea pots and cups, as well as some sentiments and other pretty images.  So, using one of the tiny images, I created a simple background with Sweet Berry ink over a Watermelon Fusion cardstock panel. I die cut a circle window on that panel and I also used a larger pierced circle around the window. I matted the panel with a Whip Cream panel, and I adhered the panel over a Blue Lagoon folded card.

The tea pot ombré effect was created with Candy Apple and Cranberry Bliss inks. For the tea cup I used Turbo Teal Ink  and I also stamped the little spoon using Black Licorice Ink. I arranged those elements over the card and I complemented it with a sentiment, which was white-embossed over a  Black Licorice circle.  To finish up my card I adhered some silver sequins, and Gift twine.

So, since the Fall|Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop  is going on right now, I am linking this card to join the fun there. Please be sure to visit them to check out all the fabulous inspiration and to know more details about the blog hop. There are a lot of fabulous prizes and one of them is the one that Fun Stampers Journey has for one lucky participant:

FSJ • Wishing You…

It’s hard to believe that the month of December is about to begin, so I think today is a good idea to start sharing with you one of the Christmas cards that I have made so far using Fun Stampers Journey products. This card was made using a nice stamp set called Holiday Joy along with the Branch & Cone die set.

I began this card by making the background. I know is a bit hard to see but I used a Fresh Sage cardstock panel, and using a small dauber dowel and Whip Cream ink, I created a bokeh effect. It is actually a ver subtle effect that lightens the color underneath and makes it softer and uneven. It is really pretty in real life! Once the background panel was completly dried, I Gold-embossed the sentiment. I adhered the panel over a Oatmeal Cookie cardstock panel and then, onto a Fresh Forest folded card.

The pine branches were die cut from Green Olive cardstock, and the pine cones from Oatmeal Cookie and Hazelnut Blend cardstock. I arranged the shapes and adhered them using a bit of Journey Craft Glue,  Glue Dots and Foam Squares to add a bit of dimension. To finish up this card, I used Gift Twine, Sparkle silk and some Gold Friendship sequins.

Always Christmas cards are so much fun to make, no matter what technique, type of products you use, or colors! I like to improvise, and also enjoy my projects as I create them! How about you?

FSJ • Autumn Colors Layout

Hello there! Today I am sharing a page that I made to document a late Autumn day that my husband and I spent together at the botanic garden. I always have loved the colors of this season, so I made a 8.5 x 11 page  to showcase one of my favorites pictures of that day using several wonderful  Fun Stampers Journey products.

I used a sheet of  Oatmeal Cookie cardstock  as the page base.  I used the Tag Set to die cut some shapes  from Rock CandyPumpkin Bread and Pomegranate Splash cardstock colors which were also stamped with different backgrounds (Playful LeavesGrid PaperColor Me Fall). Additionally, I die cut a couple of tags from a sheet of patterned paper that belongs to the Through The Year prints collection. All those tags were arranged around the picture to create a kind of frame/background.

I complemented the page with the Pretty Leaves Die Set. These leaves are beautiful and you can use them as the perfect embellishments for any of your Fall projects. The word Autumn belong to a stamp set called Harvest Wreath, and the word “colors” were die cut using the Journey Serifs steel rule die. I used small pieces of foam squares to add dimension to each of the letters.

I added some final details like a wood leaf, Gold Friendship Sequins, Journey tape, a partial Border Essential at the very top, and a strip of embossed Pumpkin Bread cardstock.
