SB Sunshiny Day Card Kit

A few months back, I received the Sunshiny Day Card Kit to complete a couple of projects for Spellbinders, and let me tell you that I was very pleased with what I could accomplish with it. It doesn’t really matter if you are a beginner or an avid card maker, the SB card kits are super fun to play with, and they will keep you busy creating for hours. The box that I received was full of products that I could use to create at least ten cards. Take a look:

This particular kit includes: 10 Cards & 10 Envelopes, 7 Sheets of 8.5 x 11” Paper/Cardstock, Set of 14 Dies, 6 x 6” Paper Pad, Pack of Die Cut Shapes, Epoxy and Foil Stickers, Clear Stamps, Sequins & Flowers, a Roll of Adhesive & Foam Dots.

So after I finished a couple of projects for SB, I ended up with a barely used card kit. Therefore, a couple weeks ago I went to a scrapbooking crop, and I brought the card kit with me . I planned to use only the products included in the kit and complete as many cards as I could. These are the projects I created:

The patterned papers are beautiful, the colors coordinate perfectly with the cardstock and die cut shapes included in the kit. As you can see, in the die cut shape package you get more than one of each shape, which in my opinion it is great, because you can duplicate your project or use the same shape in different projects!

The kit includes a stamp set and a die set too. I used a sentiment from the stamp set and I also die cut a cute starfish from the yellow cardstock provided. I also made the base cards from the purple and black cardstock included.

I was impressed with the amount of die cut shapes included in the kit, because after I finished all my cards, I still have many left over that I can use on more projects! On the second card, the Birthday sentiment (underneath the happy die cut sentiment) is not included in the kit.

For these two cards, I used two cute cars which are my favorite die cut shapes, and I included a few Epoxy stickers which are such a great detail for any card.

Another great product included are the Puffy Foil Stickers…. they are just great and they look amazing! I really had a fun time at the scrapbooking crop creating with this card kit.

Well, these are all the projects I created and the left overs from my kit…. pretty good, Don’t you think? I can still take advantage of my stamp set and my die set that I barely used…. I might do a few more projects with them soon!

I would like to point out that currently there are many beautiful card kits available to chose from, but you also have the option to sign up for the Card Kit Club, which is a monthly subscription, and that means that each month you will get a brand new kit at an incredible price. Please click >>>HERE<<< to read more details about it.

FSJ Stamp of the Month: Fresh Start

April has just begun, so that means a brand new Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month has just been released. This new stamp set is called Fresh Start. I love that this set features a bunch of flower images that are perfect to color using any of your favorite techniques. The sentiments included are also beautiful and just right for Spring.

For this card, I used Liquid Colors (Lemon Drop, Limeade Splash, Orange Creamsicle, and Sweet Pear) to create a fun background over a Whip Cream  Panel. I adhered this panel onto a Lemon Drop folded card. After that, I stamped the images with Black Licorice ink over Whip Cream  cardstock. I used a brush to color the images with Liquid Colors as well, and then I fussy cut the shapes with scissors.

Next, I adhered a piece of polka dot washi tape over a Whip Cream  long strip of cardstock , and I trimmed one of the ends to make it look like a long banner. I also die cut a hollow circle from Lemon Drop cardstock, and I used it as the frame for my bunch of flowers.

Last, I white-embossed a sentiment over Black Licorice cardstock, and I die cut it into a circle and I adhered it onto the card using foam squares. To finish up this card I added some sequins and glitter gems. I loved the color combination I used, so here you have it:

FSJ SOTM • Some Hearts Understand…

Hey friends, months are flying and before March ends, I want to share another card that I made using the FSJ Stamp of the Month of March: Good Places.

This is a layered card using a River Stone folded card, a Tin Pail cardstcok panel, a Pool Play rectangle and a strip of Whip Cream Sparkle washi tape as the base for the main components of the card. The focal point of this card wast the pretty windmill that I stamped with Rustic Rose ink over Whip Cream cardstcok. Then I die cut it with its matching die.

I also used the Bunch of Hearts die to create a Fresh Sage rectangle and then, I adhered it over a Whip Creamrectangle. I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Ink over a piece of Whip Cream cardstcok and then I die cut it into a heart shape. I arranged and I adhered the pieces over the card front using glue dots and foam squares. Last, but not least, I included a Heart paper clip and Fresh Sage tiny bow and some Sweet Candy Drops. Quick and easy as you can see 🙂

Next week we are starting a new month, so that means a new SOTM will be released!!! Please stay tuned for that, a beautiful set and lots of inspiration will be shared though out the month.

FSJ SOTM • We Rise Up By Lifting Others

Hello, hello! I have a quick post today just to share another idea of a card using the Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month: Good Places.

For this card, I chose to make a mixed background using some paper scraps and a soft tones color combo. I used a piece of gingham printed paper from the Good Life Prints collection along with a couple of Banana Cream and Tin Pail rectangles. I embossed the Tin Pail rectangle with the Tiny Dots embossing folder just to add a bit of texture. I adhered those pieces over a Whip Cream folded card, and I also added a border detail (Tin Pail cardstock + Pocket Trims Die Set).

Using Black Licorice ink, I stamped the sentiment over a tag shape (Whip Cream cardstock + Special Day Tags die set) . Then, I stamped the windmill on Tin Pail Cardstock with Chambray Shirt ink, and die cut it with its matching die. Next, I white embossed the heart image and die cut it as well. After that, I arranged the tag, windmill and heart over the card, and I adhered them using glue dots and foam squares. Last but not least, I embellished the card with some pearls and some rhinestones.

FSJ Stamp of the Month: Good Places

Good Places is the name of the current Stamp of the Month by Fun Stampers Journey. I have a card that I made with it and I want to share with you, take a look:

The set is so pretty and includes images like windmills, a tulip, wooden shoes and some sentiments. For this particular card I created a background made of different colors of cardstock: Pineapple Smoothie, Haystack, Rustic Rose and Peaches & Cream. I created different sizes of rectangles and arranged them over a Whip Cream folded card. Then I used the Green House die to cut a label from Whip Cream cardstock which I used to stamp the sentiment with Black Licorice ink.

After that, I stamped the windmill images over Whip Cream cardstock with Pomegranate Splash ink and I die cut it with its matching die (Matching dies are sold separately) . I also white-embossed the wooden shoes overPeaches & Cream cardstock and die cut it as well. I arranged them over the label and adhered them using foam squares. To finish up this card, I only used a few Sweet Candy Drops and presto!

If you like the color combo I used, here you have it:

I also want to share that currently Fun Stamper Journey has a Select Tools and Accessories Sale! Thinking of You Card

Happy Friday, friends! Here is a card that I created featuring a pretty stamp set called: Strength and Hope along with some others fabulous Fun Stampers Journey products.

I used the Diamond Netting Embossing Folder and Sweet Pear cardstock to make a background panel. I adhered the panel over a folded card of the same color. This is one of my favorites embossing folders, the diamonds pattern is clean and simple, so pretty! I also used the Ornate Blooms ATS stamp and Liquid Colors (Cool Pool, Peaches & Cream, Lemon Grass) to create a stamped panel. This time, it did not really matter if the image was perfect, I knew that just a bit of it was going to be shown so, I think it looks imperfectly perfect for my card. I trimmed the image into a rectangle and I adhered it onto a Cool Pool cardstock mat.

I stamped the butterfly, flower and sentiment using Black Licorice ink over Whip Cream cardstock. I only added Journey Glaze and Sparkle Cuts to them. Next, I die cut the butterfly and flower with their matching die, and I trimmed the sentiment with scissors. After that, I adhered them over a Whip Cream tag that belongs to the Special Day Tags die set. No need for embellishments this time, the card looks so pretty as it is!

I also want to share that currently Fun Stampers Journey has a sale called: Encore-Returning Favorites promoting some fabulous stamp sets, dies and printed papers that were previously retired but now are back at the store. Be aware that these products will be available while supplies last. Please be sure to click >>>HERE<<< to see the complete list of products, you might want to get some of them!

Sending You Sunshine Card

The Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month of February was just released last week and this great set is called Orange Blossoms. So today I am sharing a card that I made with it along with a few other FSJ products.

The cluster of oranges is the main image and I have to say that it is a quite fun image, perfect for any coloring technique, although for this card I chose to keep the image black and white contrasting with background. The background was made with Liquid Colors, a brayer and the Gel Press. The FSJ Gel Press is a fun tool that allows you to create unique backgrounds using inks, acrylics, or liquid colors. This time I used Lemon Drop, Orange Creamsicle and Rich Coral to create a fun mix of colors.

I know it is difficult to see, since my pictures are a bit grainy due to the lack of light when I took them, but I used the Bloom Wall Stencil along with Journey Gel Medium to create a subtle glossy patterned layer over the background.

The sentiment was simply white-embossed over a piece of Black Licorice cardstock. Then I paired the strip with a piece of Pop of Color washi tape and Journey Twine Licorice Twist. As the final touches a few Rainbow Drops were just perfect to complete my card.

I would love to point out that the Stamp of the Month is a subscription and by joining this club you will have some great benefits, like special deals and savings at the Spellbinders/FSJ store. For more details please click >>>HERE<<<

You Stole My Heart Card

I can’t believe January is gone and Valentines Day is around the corner. I am not a big celebrator of that day, but I do like to cook or bake something yummy for my husband and sons… Sometimes I give a little something or a card to some of my friends, just a little reminder that they are important to me. How about you? Do you celebrate it?

Well, today I am sharing a card that I create using a cute set by Fun Stampers Journey called: Love Bandit along with some other fun products.

I used Journey Color Burst Pure Color pencils to color this cute image, along with its matching die. I also created a patterned background with the sentiment, using Fresh Sage ink over a Cool Pool cardstock panel.

I adhered the background over a Rock Candy folded card, and then I placed a large Whip Cream stitched circle. I used the circle as the base for the cute bandit. I added a strip of Black Licorice cardstock and a strip of polka dot tape. Above all of that I added the sentiment which was white embossed over a Candy Apple heart shape. To finish up my card I adhered some silver sequins here and there.

FSJ • Love You Card + Sketch

As I said on my last post, I love challenges. Well, my Fun Stampers Journey partner and friend Laura Williams and I decided to challenge ourselves and have some fun creating. Lately, I have been struggling a bit with that mojo that sometimes needs a little push, so we came up with the idea of posting a sketch challenge. I created a fun sketch and we made a Valetines themed card from it. Take a look:

There is no technique or any other requirement but the sketch to create a card. In my case, I kept it simple. I used a Whip Cream panel over a River Stone folded card, and then I adhered a Follow Your Heard Print rectangle to cover the lower half part of the panel. Then, I die cut different sizes of Hearts using Whip Cream, Bubble Gum and Raspberry Berry cardstocks.

I layered the hearts and white-embossed a sentiment over a Black Licorice cardstcok strip. To finish up this card, I used a piece of Silver Sparkle tape, Sparkle silk and some silver sequins. Simple, fun and pretty!

So, you are welcome to grab this sketch and join us. So please don’t be shy, and leave your link in the comments area… we would love to see what you create!

Laura also created a lovely project using a fun technique, and you can see her project by clicking >>>HERE<<<
