FSJ • Happy Halloween Card

Halloween is around the corner, and there is still plenty of time to begin creating your Halloween projects. There is a particular stamp set Journey Holiday Mini Trends Catalog that I really like and it is called Skeletons Dance. The images are quite fun and they can be used to create cards, scrapbook pages or many tags for goodie bags.  So, I created a card using two of the cute skeletons.  Take a look:

HappyHalloween091518

I started this project by creating a card base from Black Licorice cardstock. Then I adhered a Whip Cream cardstock panel over the card.  This panel measures 5.5″ x 3.75″, so that way I left a bit of black color showing on top and a bit more on the bottom. After that, I die cut a stitched circle from Electric Lime cardstock, and the tree silhouette from the Spooksville die set using Black Licorice cardstock. I layered both and put them over my card base.

The sentiment that I used is from another pretty set called Eyes on You. I placed the sentiment over my acrylic block slightly bending the stamp as I placed it over trying to mimic the curve of the stitched circle (It helps if you first put your acrylic block over the green circle, and since the acrylic block is clear, you can see the circle underneath).

Next, I  simply stamped two cute skeletons with Black Licorice Ink over Whip Cream cardstock and then, I die cut them with their matching dies. It is so nice to have matching dies! I adhered them using Journey Foam squares and I added some Spooky Eve Stickers to complement the scene along with silk splatters and a tiny paper clip.

FSJ • Happy Birthday Card

Happy Monday, friends! The Party Pop color family  from Fun Stampers Journey is one of my favorites. Although, I have to say that all of the six family colors that are available are great and it is difficult to choose just one! So, today I am sharing a card that I created using some colors from the Party Pop family, and a fun stamp set called Birthday Pop:

091518web_HappyBrithday

This set includes different sizes of balloons that perfectly match a die set called Uplift.  I used Watermelon Fusion, Lemon Drop, Limeade Splash, Tangerine Fusion and Candy Apple True Color Fusion ink colors to stamp the balloons and tiny stars.

I also stamped one of the sentiments included in the same set with Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink, and as the final touch, I used a couple of Party Burst Dots, a couple pieces of Journey tape, a Paper Clip Element and Gift Twine (I love this twine).

FSJ • Thank You Card

This month’s promotion at Fun Stampers Journey is called Crush of Color and it is all about colors! All the solid cardstock colors along with their coordinating ink pads have a 20% discount this month! Additionally, each week they are showcasing one or two of the FSJ color families, and adding some amazing coordinating bundles. So please be sure to hop over to their website and FB page to see more details and inspiration.

So Today I am sharing a project that I created using some pretty cardstock and ink colors. To create this card, I used a stamp set called Poppy Days. The images of this set can be layered to create a couple of different blooms, take a look:

I only used two of layers of one of the blooms, so the first layer was stamped with Pineapple Smoothie and Bubblegum inks over a Whip Cream  panel, and then the second layer was stamped with Black Licorice ink.  After that, I simply adhered this panel over a Fresh Sage card base.

For the flower I used a Host Exclusive die set called Bold Bloom. Before I die cut the layers of the flower I created the lines of the petals on a piece of Whip Cream cardstock by using the the Bubblegum ink pad edge to make some clockwise marks.  After that, I die cut the bloom layers.

Additionally, I inked the edges of the blooms using a sponge dauber. After that, I layered the flower.  I added a Bubblegum cardstock banner and a sentiment from a set called Everyday Script to complement the card.

To finish up this card I included decorative tape a sparkle drop, stitches, Fresh Sage silk and some silver sequins.   Please be sure to click on the image below to know more details about this great promotion and current bundles deals:

FSJ • Oh So Happy

The mixed media concept itself can be a little bit intimidating if you are not familiar with the mediums or  simply because you don’t like to get your working area messy (let’s be real: more than normal). Well, maybe it can get a bit messier, but that doesn’t take the fun part away. Once you start, it is hard to stop creating. I have to say that what I really like is that even though you are working on an specific project and you have something in mind, in the process you end up creating more pretty stuff and at the end, nothing is wasted. Since you can create many backgrounds, and even though you don’t use them right away, it will save you time to create another project another day. Anyhow, today I am sharing a card that I created using one of those extra backgrounds that I created a couple weeks ago using some  mixed media products…

080118web_ohsohappy1

The background was created using the Circle Bliss stencil along with Citrus Cooler and Sweet Berry acrylic paints.  I also used Modeling paste, Oatmeal Cookie acrylic paint and the Flower Power stencil, just to add an extra detail over the already pretty background.

080118web_ohsohappy2

To create the flowers, I die cut the Colorful Bloom dies from Oatmeal Cookie cardstock and I stamped the Grid Paper and Lace Background stamps on them with Outrageous Pink ink.  I added a pierced detail, a stitched circle,  a sentiment, cut rhinestones, natural twine and a couple of brush silver staples.

The current promotion at Fun Stampers Journey is  called Prepped to Play and the products on sale are some of the ones that belong to the Mixed Media category. So if you already have some of those products on your wishlist, this  is a good chance to get them 🙂 Please be sure to click on the image below to see the complete list of mixed media products that are for sale this month:

FSJ Cards for Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Welcome!

FSJ_CLC Blog

If you are coming from Michelle Woerner ‘s blog,  you are in the right place. I am happy to be participating in the Fun Stampers Journey Collaboration Blog Hop.  As you can see, we are siding with our friends from the Coffee Loving Cardmakers for a fun inspirational hop, full of wonderful creations and a great prize.

So for today I created a couple of cards using the same design and stamps on both, and only making a change in the selection of colors and papers. I made these cards smaller than the normal size. They measure 3.5″ x 4.25, so you can get three cards from one letter size piece of Whip Cream cardstock. The cards feature a fun stamp set called Coffee Helps and its  matching die set, which is quite convenient.

071818web_Lifehappens2

For the first card I chose the small gingham print from the Good Life Prints collection. I made a partial background panel over my card and I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink.  I adhered the panel over my card base along with a circle. I also put a piece of Girl’s Life Tape and I used a Brush Silver Staple.

071818web_Lifehappens4

I stamped the cup of coffee with Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink and I colored it with Cool Pool Liquid color.  Before I adhered the cup over the circle, I stamped the vapor lines over the circle. I use some Journey Squares to adhere the cup and I complemented my card with a Love Filled heart.

071818web_Lifehappens3

Second card is the same process. I used Hazelnut Blend True Color Fusion Ink for the stamping part and a different sheet from the Good Life Prints collection.  I used the new Rustic Rose Liquid Color for the cup, and the Lemon Sparkle tape. Overall I had a lot of fun creating these cute cards 🙂

FSJ • Life is Art… Live Yours in Color

Working with Liquid Colors can be so much fun. There is no right or wrong way to use them when used to create strokes or splatters of color. Before I continue, I would like to point out that in our New Fun Stampers Catalog there are among others,  FIVE new liquid colors added to it: Peaches and Cream, Rustic Rose, Sweet Pear, Fresh Sage, and Turbo Teal.

So today I am sharing a card using some of my favorite Liquid Color hues.  The background panel was created by simply applying strokes from side to side of different liquid colors (Lemon Drop, Lovely Blue, Cool Pool and Limeade Splash) over a Whip cream rectangle with the Square Paint Brush.  Then, I stamped one of the sentiments included in the brand new Color Pop stamp set with Black Licorice Ink. Since my sewing machine was handy, I affixed the panel over a Whip Cream folded card.

071018web_LifeisArt

I used the Colorful Bloom Die set to create the flowers from Whip Cream cardstock . Then, I put a little bit of Lemon Drop Liquid Color over an acrylic block, I spread it with the Square Paint Brush and waited a few seconds so the color could form some  spots. Next, I placed the flower shapes over the watery mix to pick up the color and let them dry.

071018web_LifeisArt2

I adhered the flowers on the card with Journey Glue Dots and I embellished them with three red Party Burst Dots as their centers. To finish up this card,  I flicked Sparkle silk and of course applied Journey Glaze over the sentiment.

Cool in the Pool Layout

For some reason, since I have been organizing my craft room, a picture of my two sons landed on my desk and of course, I ended up making a 8.5″ x 11″ scrapbook page.  So looking for some inspiration, I found a video by Heather’s Crafty Life which was very helpful saving me some time creating my page.  Currently, I am working 100% with Fun Stampers Journey products, so stamps have came really handy to create embellishments or motifs to decorate my pages.  Among other fantastic products, I used one new stamp set called “All Year Long” to create this page. This set is a Host Exclusive set, that I absolutely love since it includes lots of images and sentiments that can be used for many occasions.  For this page I used the sentiment “Let’s Chill” and the three Flamingo Floaties. (If you are wondering how you can  Host a FSJ Party, please click >>>HERE<<< for more information.

070218web_CoolinthePool

I used the Journey Serifs to create the “Cool” word using Whip Cream, and Black Licorice to create a shadow. The rest of the title was stamped using the Solid Bet Stamp set along with Turbo Teal and River Stone inks.

070218web_CoolinthePool2

I die cut some tags using the Steel Rule Tag Set using different colors of cardstock. The red scalloped border is actually one die included in the Pocket Trims die set,

To create the “Best Friends” text bubble I used a set that just got retired 😦 It was called Sunday Morning and belongs to the Spring into Summer Catalog.

070218web_CoolinthePool3

The paper I used are from the new Playful Prints Collection. I complemented this page with Sweet Candy Drops, Forever Heart Chips, Vagabond Chips, Summer Fun Chips,  a threaded Button Up, Sweet Slice and Classic Elegance Journey tapes.
