You Make my Heart Smile Card

Lately, I have been using some amazing products by Jane Davenport that have really made me get into the creative mode and get a bit messy too. There is something about the beautiful packaging and the GREAT quality of these products that make me want to stop doing whatever I am doing and start using them! Really!

One of my favorite products are called Inkredible Inks ArtEssentials. These are twelve beautiful colors and each of them come in a bottle that can be used to create wonderful backgrounds or used as paints to color stamped images too. But we all know that when we get into the artsy mode, there are no rules to create and let your creativity flow!

So today I am sharing a simple card, that features a quick and easy background made with Inkredible Inks. I am attaching a quick video at the end of this post so you can see how easily you can create it. Here is my finished card:

I love how easy you can layer the Inkredible Ink colors and if you paired them with a Color Splash Watercolor Sheets, you can achieve beautiful results!

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission at no cost for you. Thanks!

To avoid my watercolor panel from curving, I put it underneath something heavy to dry, and I also put a piece of scrap paper over the panel to absorb some of the moisture. While waiting for the background to dry, I used a wonderful FSJ stamp set called Cottage Bouquet to stamp the images with Black Licorice Ink. After that, I die cut it with its matching dies.

After that background panel was dried, I stamped a sentiment and I adhered it over a folded card. As always, I embellished the card with some pearls plus some gemstones and I added some Journey Glaze details. Journey Glaze is a must have product, it dries faster than other similar products on the market and it gives your cards a beautiful finishing look.

So, let me tell you that lots of Jane Davenport products are currently on sale, so this is a great opportunity to put some wonderful products in your shopping cart πŸ˜‰

Hero Arts Winter 2020 Catalog Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!

Today we are celebrating the launch of the Winter 2020 Catalog Release in the Hero Arts store with a fun inspirational Blog Hop. As of today, you can see and get all the new fabulous Winter products at the HA store. Very exciting! Check it out:

Winter Catalog 2020

As part of this hop, I created two cards. For the first card, I used the Color Layering Gingerbread House Combo. This combo includes a stamp set and matching frame cuts. The color layering stamp sets are a lot of fun to play with and the Misti Mini Hero Black or the Misti Regular Black are a great help when using this kind of stamps.

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission from Hero Arts at no cost for you. Thanks!

So, I created a plaid background and then, I adhered this panel over a folded card. Next, I stamped the cute gingerbread house using different colors of ink. Additionally, I stamped the small images and I die cut all the images.

I continued to stamp the sentiment over a white cardstock square and I adhered it over the card with foam tape. I adhered the house and other tiny images also with foam tape to add dimension. Last but not least, I finish off this card with some enamel dots and some Glaze details.

Supplies Card 1: SB259 Color Layering Gingerbread House Combo | Hero Arts Cardstock

The second card features the Fawn and Friends Combo and I paired it with a sentiment from a set called Comfort and Joy Messages.

This time I created a subtle background over a white panel. I adhered this panel onto a folded card . I also used the Staircase Fancy Die to be part of the background for the cute friends there. The doggie and kitty were simply stamped with black ink, colored with watercolors and die cut with their matching frame cuts.

I complemented the card with a sentiment an some gifts images also included in the Comfort and Joy Messages set. I colored those too and I finish off my card with some Glaze details and some enamel dots.

Live Every Week Like it’s Shark Week Card

Hey there! Since this week is Shark Week… I have a fun card that I want to share showcasing a FSJ Set called Shark Attack and its matching die set:

I began by stamping the two cute sharks with Black Licorice Ink and I colored them with different color of Mermaid Markers… which I love, because of their bright colors! After that I die cut them with their matching dies. I also used a fun die called Pool with a View, to make a swimming pool for those sharks with their floaties.

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission. Thanks!

Then, I created the background. To do that I used a plain Beach Breeze Cardstock panel, and a Snow Queen Story Time Paint Pen to create a polka dot pattern. Next, I adhered the panel over a Rock Candy folded card. Additionally, I white-embossed a sentiment over a Black Licorice rectangle and I adhered with foam squares. I finished off the card with some wiggle eyes for the sharks and some silver sequins.

By the way, there is a fantastic deal at the Spellbinders Shop right now, so please be sure to visit them…

This bundle is called Craft Happy and includes a high quality clear photopolymer stamp set and a coordinating die set. The clear stamps are a new addition to the FSJ products, so you might see from time to time a new clear stamp is added to the shop.

Craft Happy Clear Stamp & Die Set Bundle

As you can see the set showcases craft supplies. Yes! many stamp images of tools and embellishments perfect to color with your favorite coloring technique. It also includes some clever sentiments that will help you to create pretty cards for your crafty pals.

So for this card I simply created a subtle background with Limeade Splash Liquid Color and a Sponge dauber, Then I matted the panel, and adhered it over a folded card. The images were stamped with Black licorice ink and colored with liquid colors. Then I die cut them with their matching dies. I finished it off with a white embossed sentiments, some Sparkle Silk and some Sweet Candy drops.

I have to point out that with all those cute images with their matching frames, whatever images you chose, your card is going to be awesome. These images are ideal to color, so in this case I used markers. Additionally, I added some Glaze/Sparkles details to the images, just to make them a bit more fun.

Oh yes! We already have to start our winter projects and for that I am happy to share that the NEW Joy & Wonder Project Kit by Fun Stampers Journey is now available at the shop, take a look:

Joy & Wonder Project Kit
Joy & Wonder Project Kit

This kit comes with an assortment of  ONE Embossing Folder, TWO die sets, TWO Stamp Sets, and a card making project kit to make FOUR cards. Also included are full color instructions and an online Video Tutorial. You will be guided through every step of the way as your create die cut projects:

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission at no cost to you. Thanks!

I chose one of the sets included in this kit create two different cards. This stamp set is called Arctic Wonder and I also used its matching die set. So the first card features three of the bear images over a striped background made of cardstock strips.

This is an easy way to create a colorful background for your cards that will make your stamped images stand out. The sentiment was simply white-embossed over a Black Licorice stitched circle, and of course some sequins made the trick to embellish this cute card.

Supplies Card #1: Joy & Wonder Project Kit | FSJ 8.5″ x 11″ Cardstock | FSJ True Color Fusion Inks | Splash Zone Sequins|

The second card showcases the other three bear images included in the set. With that many bear images you have a lot of choices to create the perfect arctic scene, don’t you think? I stamped the images over Whip Cream cardstock with Black Licorice ink, and I arranged them over a Whip Cream panel. After that, using my Misti I stamped the sentiment and I enhanced it with Journey Glaze.

This time, I used a Holiday Cheer Prints rectangle as the background/mat for my card. I used front and back of the same sheet. The snowflakes pattern for the largest panel and I used the other side of the paper to create a strip, which also serves as the base for my bears, so they don’t look like they are floating πŸ˜‰

I finished off this card with a silver snow flake, some silver-embossed tiny snowflakes and some silver sequins.

You Make My Heart Smile Card

Making handmade cards is always fun, specially when you are creating a card for somebody in particular. I think that when those cards arrive to their final destination and make the recipient smile is when you know that all that work and creativity accomplished their goal.

Today, I am sharing a card that I made for a friend, and I had a lot of fun creating it. This time, I used the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month (June 2020), check it out:

This exclusive designed die set is called Handing You a Smile and it belongs to one of the clubs that month after month Spellbinders offers you as a Membership. Other clubs also available include stamps, hot foil kits, or card kits that you can use to create whatever your heart desires. Please be sure to check out all those fabulous clubs that SB brings to you >>> HERE<<<

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission. Thanks!

For this card I created a subtle background using Banana Cream Liquid Color and a Dowel Dauber. You can see this fun and easy technique >>>here<<<

Then, using different colors of FSJ cardstock I die-cut the different flower parts to create a bouquet and the pretty hand. It seems like a lot of work, but believe me, it is really fun to put all the pieces together. First, I assembled the flowers, then I flipped them over and I affixed their stems in place with a square foam. After that, I played a bit placing the flowers in the right place, and once they looked perfect to me, I used a piece of Glad Press’n Seal to hold the bouquet in place. I carefully adhered one flower at a time, and once everything was glued to the card, I adhered the leaves. At the very end, I stamped a sentiment over Whip Cream cardstock with Black Licorice Ink, I trimmed around it with my detail shears and adhered it with a foam square. I finished it up with some Fashion Gold embellishments and some Gold Friendship Sequins.

FSJ β€’ Life is Short Make it Sweet Card

Summer is just perfect to do many things outdoors, like walks, gardening, or simply sitting outside to enjoy the warm weather. Lately, since we have been spending more time at home, we have been enjoying a scoop of frozen yogurt sometimes after dinner. So, thinking about those yummy summer moments, I created this card:

My card showcases a FSJ stamp set called Sweet Life and its matching die set. I chose a color combo that reminds me of the sweetness of ice cream, so to create the duo-tone background I applied Lovely Blue and Banana Cream liquid colors over my Whip Cream cardstock panel with a dauber dowel. I let it dry and after that I matted the panel, and adhered over a Bubblegum folded card.

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission. Thanks!

I stamped the images with Black Licorice ink over Whip Cream cardstock, I colored them using my Journey Splash Watercolor Pencils and I die-cut them with their matching dies . I added some Journey Glaze and Sparkle Cuts details too. The sentiment was simply stamped over a stitched circle and enhanced with Journey Glaze as well. I finished up this card by adding some Sweet Candy Drops and some Sparkle Silk.

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

Please remember that you have the option to subscribe and receive the kit monthly and never miss one.  Pre-order your kit today – we estimate kit shipping will begin Friday, July 17th and continues throughout the following week.

The amazing MMH of July features a lots of cool products perfect to create under the sea themed projects, take a look:

The Kit includes: 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set, 9 Coordinating Frame Cuts, 1 Fancy Edge Die, 6 Sheets of Sticker Paper (2 each of Diamond Blue, Teal, Purple), 5 Reactive Ink Cubes (Blue Hawaii, Splash, Pool Party, Key Lime Fizz, Taffy), Coral Embossing Powder 0.5 oz. Kit Value: $76.50 Kit Cost: $34.99

As in every month, there are also some wonderful Add-On products, and with some of those, I created two cards that I am sharing with you today. My first card features Deeply in Love stamp set, its matching frame cuts and a wonderful die called Underwater Pillar Window Die, take a look:

Using Hero Arts Orchid and Indigo Bold Inks I created a two color background. I used a sponge dauber to achieve an ombrΓ© effect. After that, I die cut the the pretty Underwater Pillar Window Die from it. I took a shortcut to create this shaker card, because I used a clear pocket envelope which I filled with green confetti and some gold sequins instead of creating it with acetate and foam tape as we normally do. Although, the sequins and confetti don’t move around as much as a normal shaker card. The envelope comes with a sticky back, so I stuck it over a folded card. Then, I simply affixed the window shape over it with a few foam squares.

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission from Hero Arts. Thanks!

Next, I used the Deeply in Love stamp set and matching frame cuts to create the dips diver and algae foliage. Notice that I use a bit of marker details over the diver, just so the image doesn’t look so flat. I adhered the stamped images over the card with glue dots and foam tape and I complemented the card with a stamped sentiment, sequins and some tiny hearts that I cut using the HA Nested Hearts.

Supplies Card 1: CM457 Deeply in Love | DI782 Deeply In Love Frame Cuts | DI779 Underwater Pillar Window Die |Nested Frame Cuts Hearts

Card #2 showcases the Submarine Fancy Die. So, I die-cut the submarine from four different colors of cardstock and using detail scissors, I trimmed off different parts of the shape, kind of like assembling a tiny puzzle. I put the pieces together using craft glue.

Then, I made a few strips from different colors of cardstock and I adhered them over a white panel to create a striped background. After that, I simply adhered the panel over a folded card and I adhered the submarine with foam tape.

Additionally, I stamped a sentiment from the Deep Sea Messages over white cardstock and I die cut it into a circle. I want to point out the this stamp set was designed to go with the HA Peek-A-Boo dies, but of course you can use the sentiment and images to create whatever your heart desires πŸ˜‰ Finally, I simple adhered some Blues Hero Hues Enamel dots to complement my card.

New FSJ Happy Place Collection | Hope Everything is Going Swimmingly Card

The new Happy Place Collection by Fun Stampers Journey is here! Yes! I am quite excited about this collection because it is so fun to play with. The collection includes stamps and dies perfect to create summer projects. Today, I am sharing a card that I created using a die set called Pool with a View die set and a sentiment included in Make a Splash stamp set

The die is so versatile, you can either use it to simply create a swiming pool or create a swiming pool shaped shaker window… It is just perfect for both looks, it is up to you! For this card I began by making a printed paper rectangle and matting it with Whip Cream cardstock. Then, I adhered the panel over a Haystack folded card. After that, I die cut the summer umbrella, pool, leaves and ladder from different color of cardstock. Then, I simply arranged them over the card.

Be aware that my post includes affiliate links, which means that if you click on and shop through them, I will receive a tiny commission. Thanks!

I continued by stamping a sentiment and I trimming it with scissors. I included a stripe of Whip Cream cardstock and I complemented with some tiny flowers, gemstones and hearts. Always fun to create with new awesome products!
