WB1101 Mystery Stocking Stuffer:  – a grab bag of 5 little Christmas-themed stamps, good for filling advent calendars or stuffing stockings!

The November kit was designed as a DIY, with ornaments, advent calendar containers, garlands, and lanterns (when cut-out in vellum and placed over tree lights) in mind – and beyond Christmas as party and wedding favors. This is a versatile kit that you don’t want to miss!  For today’s blog hop,  I created a card using some of the products included in the main kit. Check it out:

I have always thought that simple makes wonders. For my card,  I used one blue patterned paper to create a card base. After that, I created a rectangular panel with the metallic blue card stock and I silver-embossed a sentiment. I matted the panel with vellum card stock and I adhered the panel over the card base with foam tape.

Then, I die cut the triangular snowflake shape from a piece of blue metallic card stock, and I trimmed it into a triangle using a craft knife . I adhered a piece of vellum paper from behind and I adhered  the piece onto the card with foam tape as well. To finish off the card, I used a silver sequin  and twine from my stash.  Quite simple, but I think it looks very pretty.

As always Hero is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. Giveaway closes Sunday, November 13 at 11:59pm, and the winner will be announced the following week. Here is the complete list of participant blogs:

  1. I absolutely love the way that you’ve combined so many elements of the kit to create this beautiful and elegant card, Mariana!

  2. Wow! I didn’t think I’d ever get to the comment section! And I really, really wanted to tell you how beautiful this is. There is probably nothing I can think of than a monochromatic blue color scheme! This is simply elegant. Thank you.

  3. Wow – that is really beautiful! Love the blues and the use of vellum. I’ll be making cards when I get my kit – thanks for the inspiration!

  4. I love love love Chrissy and I especially love the little special touches. This set is perfect for so many reasons and the ideas are endless.
I love the beautiful soft colors and the simple design. So effective. T xx

  5. Your card reminded of a starting of some movie that had a shape with a star in the middle …oh wait isn’t there something like that on our paper money? Lol

  6. That metallic card stock looks fantastic. I love how you can use the die decoration for the diamond ornament die in a different way.

  7. I love the monochromatic look of this card with focal point being the lovely die cut in the centre of the card. This set is so versatile, from 3-D decorations to cards, awesome. Have a lovely day. Cheers Donna Z 🙂

  8. The blue shade and vellum combo add to the wintery wonder of this card. A stunner indeed. Brilliant card kit from HA and excellent value for money.

  9. Simple is truly beautiful! I am new to card making and crafting in general so many ideas can be a bit intimidating. Your card is simply stunning and gives me ideas I feel comfortable trying out! Thanks for this opportunity!

  10. This card is elegant and serene. A little serenity is just what we need during the Holiday excitement. I am making myself a promise to make some cards with blues and silvers this year:)

  11. It is simple, lovely and elegant and best of all, I think I could make some like it! Am looking forward to receiving my kit! Thank you!

  12. Your right, the card is simple but it doesn’t look simple. The shades of blue are so festive and I am a snowflake lover! I live in CT so usually we see plenty of snow in the winter except for last Christmas when it was 65 degrees on Christmas Day. The first snowfall is beautiful but then when all the sand trucks come around and the snow turns black, it’s not beautiful anymore. I wish the snow looked like your card all the time. It’s so pretty.

  13. The simplicity of your card and the cool blue colors really reinforce the sentiment of peace. Great work, and thanks for sharing.
