Thank You Card

Happy Sunday! I can’t believe that today is the last day of January. It has been a tough month for me, but I have been taking each day at a time. Little by little, happy memories are helping me to go through the sadness I still feel.  My mom had a soft voice, and when I was a child, I remember that she was the one in charge of waking me up every morning. Well, instead of a loud “wake up!”, she used to wet her hand, and then she would splatter the water over my face 🙂 I know, it sounds like a mean method, but it wasn’t. You could barely feel the tiny drops, but they were just enough to make my eyes open, and see her face with a big smile next to me. My mom was very sweet.

Anyway, here is a Thank You card that I created using some of the new products from the 2016 Hero Arts Catalog:

012816web_thakyou

To create the background I used a pad-dab inking technique that I showed last year and you can see by clicking >>>HERE<<< I used Kelly’s Outdoor Inks for this. Then, I simply stamped the  sentiment (Handwritten Thank You woodblock stamp) with Black Dye Ink, and I put Glossy Accents over the letters.

012816web_thakyou2

I adhered the panel over a card base, and I stitched the edge. Then, I die cut  the Delicate Butterfly using black card stock, and I adhered it with glue dots.  Finally, I embellished the butterfly with three gemstones. Quite easy, fast and fun to create.

Remember, all the new HA products will be available at the Hero Arts store on February 8th.

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another project.

RG Noteworthy Card

Hello everyone! I am back today to share a card featuring a couple of products from one of the new collections by Richard Garay: Noteworthy.

mg_happybirthday3

To create this card I used a stap set called Noteworthy and  patterned papers from the Noteworthy Prints 6×6 paper pad. I began by piercing the card base with some of the die templates from Pierced Stars  (Celebr’ations Collection).

mg_happybirthday2

Then, I stamped the sentiment over a white card stock strip with black ink. I adhere the paper strip over the card base and I added a stitch detail on the right side.

mg_happybirthday4

I die cut some stars from patterned papers, and I adhered them over the card with foam squares. Last, I embellished the card with a few clear gemstones and Journey Glaze over the sentiment.

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another project.

RG Make Amazing Happen Card

Hey there! I am back just to share another card that I created with the new Make Amazing Happen Collection by Richard Garay.

012816web_makeamazingB

For this card, I used watercolor paper to create the background. I clear-embossed flowers and leaves images several times over the panel (Amazing Blooms and Make Amazing stamp sets). Then, using  a couple of colors of Gelatos (Faber Castell), water and a brush, I covered the whole panel. At the end I splattered a little bit of Silver Shimmer. I adhered the panel over a card base, and I added stitches along the edge.

012816web_makeamazing3

The sentiment was stamped on white card stock with black ink, and die cut with its matching die.  I adhered it over the front panel with foam squares along with silver thread. I stamped the flower with pink ink, then I added Journey Glaze and Journey Sparkle Cuts over it. Once was dried, I fussy cut the shape and I adhered it with a foam square. I embellish the card with some clear gemstones.

If you haven’t seen all the new Richard Gary Collections, you can take a look in the link below. The new collections will be released in the next few months, so stay tuned 😉

RG Celebra’tions Card [Love You]

Hi! Today I am sharing a card using the a few products from the Celebra’tions Collection by Richard Garay. This collection includes a wide variety of elements that you can use for different occasions.

012816web_loveyouB

I created the background of this card using Chevron Prints washi tape. This tape is very wide, which makes easy to cover the card front.  Then, I used the Pierced Hearts  die template to create the big heart. I die cut this shape using Captivating Coral card stock. One of the things that I like about these type of dies is that you can either use or not the pierced detail.

012816web_loveyou2

Over the big heart I stamped a couple of times a brush stroke image (Brush Strokes stamp set) using Captivating Coral inkThen, I splattered a little bit of Silver Shimmer over the heart. After that, I adhered it onto the card front and I added zigzag stitches.

012816web_loveyou4

I used the All You die templates to die cut the word “Love” from white card stock and foam. Then, I adhered the word over the big heart.  The small heart was die cut from regular white card stock. Next, I stamped the word “you” using part of an image included in Cup for Two stamp set. I adhered the heart with a foam square. Finally, I embellished the card with a few small gemstones.

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another project.

Today’s Card: Happy Birthday

A quick post today just to share a card I created  using one of the new stamp sets from the 2016 Hero Arts Catalog. This new set is called Make a Wish Birthday, and it will be available at the Hero Arts store on February 8th along with all the new HA products.

010616web_happybirthdayb

I created the background with the Swirl Stencil, a few Shadow Ink colors and sponges.  To create the focal point of my card I used a sentiment included in the new Make a Wish Birthday set.  I stamped it over an oval shape with Black Dye ink. I arranged three strips of different colors of card stok onto the background, and I adhered the sentiment with foam tape.

010616web_happybirthday

The little flowers stamps are included in the same set, and I stamped them with different colors of ink over white cardstock. Then,  I fussy cut them with scissors and I used them as embellishments. Finally, I added pearls and gemstones here and there.

Today’s Card: Thank You

First of all, I want to thank you for the condolences you left on my last blog post. Knowing that my blog is like an open window to share and also to communicate with people like me, makes me feel better. I haven’t met the majority of you in person, I really appreciate that you took a moment to say something to comfort me and share a bit of your own life events.

012216web_thankyou

I know I am not alone, because losing a loved one is something that we all have to encounter sometime along our lives, which makes us more compassionate about others. I also know that everybody heals differently, but I am sure time will be a key to help me go through this, along with the support of my family and friends. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.

She Was a Good Mom.

Last week I went to Mexico to say goodbye to my mom. It was very hard and sad. I think about those moments, and tears start pouring. There are no words to describe this sadness.

mgmom1931_20162

I talked to her on the phone for the last time on New Years. Her voice sounded fine and strong, but I guess her heart was weak. She passed away suddenly on the 8th. I owe her a lot. She taught me to love animals,  to cook improvising and also to change the recipes. I remember her always doing something with her hands: sewing, knitting, painting. She taught me all that too.

She was very talented. She loved painting using watercolors, but she was always willing to try different techniques.  She collected a bunch of pictures from magazines or books, and kept them in a big folder, which was her inspiration folder. When I was living in Mexico, close to her, we used to get together and paint. Those were precious moments. She seems to be a very serious person, but in reality she had a very good sense of humor, and a big heart.  I loved that about her. Anyway, she had more than one hundred and fifty paintings, and  I want to share a few of them…

LEONOR92

LEONOR93

LEONOR99

LEONOR12

The next painting, I brought it with me. She painted it last month. It was one of her last ones.

LEONOR15

She will remain in my heart forever. Her name was Leonor, and she was a good mom, she was my mom.

Today’s Card: You Make My Heart Flutter

Happy Friday, everyone!

I love all the amazing cards that you can make with the current MMH! I think all  the products included in this kit are simply fabulous. Today I am sharing another card that I created with it:

010716web_youmakemyA

I die cut the heart shape using a piece of foam. Then I adhered the foam shape over an acrylic block, and I used it as a stamp to create the background of my card along with three different ink colors.

010716_youmakemy

Then, I die cut the background with the clustered hearts die (which I love!) After that,  I adhered the panel over a card base. Next, I stamped a sentiment and added Glossy Accents over it. Last, I embellished  the card with yummy sequins.

My Montly Hero Blog Hop

MMH_logo-01b

Happy Monday everyone!

Today is the release day for the first MMH kit of 2016!  This new wonderful kit will be available TODAY January 4th at NOON (Eastern time) at the Hero Arts store. The kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone.

The full kit will contain – two 3×4″ stamp sets, three dies including two paper layering dies, 2 ink cubes, an exclusive mix of sequins created by Lucy Abrams, gorgeous vellum with irridescent speckles, acetate, cards and envelopes. Take a look:

MH103

There is also an add-on die set (Valentine word and small hearts) to purchase separately.

DI179 Valentine and Three Hearts Fancy Dies

So today as part of this exciting release,  I created a card and pillow box using a few of the products included in the kit. I have to point out that this kit is so much fun to play with!  I really liked the dies as well as all the products included, perfect for Valentine’s day and so much more!

010216web_valentineI created a card using the heart nested dies as the focal point. First I die cut the scalloped frame on a white card stock panel, and I adhered it over a red card. Then, on a piece of white cardstock, I created the patterned background using different colors of ink and a sponge. After that, I die cut the heart  shape from my custom patterned paper and from a foam sheet (to give the heart dimension). I adhered the heart centered over the white panel. Next,  I die cut the valentine word from black card stock and a piece of black foam. I adhered it onto the heart, and I complemented it with a tiny sentiment. At the end, I added some pretty sequins and gemstones.
010216web_valentine2

I also made a pillow box. I randomly stamped little hearts over a piece of white card stock. Then, I created the pillow box with a punch board. I tied a bow and I added a little heart shaped tag that coordinates with the card.

One of the things that I like a lot about this collection, are the stamp images and beautiful patterned papers.  I created the background with two patterned paper rectangles over a card base. Then I simply stamped the shirt image onto a piece of card stock with black ink, and then I die cut it.

mg_lumberjack2W4

I stamped a sentiment over a pre-made bubble text shape, and I adhered it over the card with foam tape. After that, I placed the the shirt image over the card with foam squares. Next, I added a piece of  Linen Thread along with some mini wooden clothespins. Finally, I embellished the card with clear gemstones and mini staples.
