Hero Arts Color Layering Blog Hop

Welcome!

bloghop_600_A.jpg

Today I am happy to be part of this hop which marks the launch of Hero Arts Color Layering Catalog on the Hero Arts website 😉 Here’re some details about it:

“Color Layering uses the technique of stamping progressively, building color and detail, resulting in an elegant, dimensional look. We’ve asked our talented group of artists to recommend their favorite colors to best highlight each Color Layering stamp set. The results have been developed into 4-cube ink packs, featuring the championing artist’s name. While the inks were developed with a specific stamp set in mind, the packs offer wonderful and rich versatility; you’ll find they work well with most any set and often produce stunning and unexpected results.”

You will see that Hero has even combined the new ink packs with their Color Layering stamp set (and dies in some cases) into bundles 😀  You can find them by clicking >>>HERE<<<

Therefore, today  as part of this release I am sharing the cards and color combos that I created for the Catalog. I want to point out that when Hero Arts gave us this special assignment, I felt so honored! Besides selecting the color combos, creating a project for the catalog,  our names and signature were printed on the packaging too! 🙂 🙂 🙂 As you can imagine, I have been on cloud nine since then 🙂

The color combo ink packs are a great way to get a try of different colors, and give them a go on different projects.  Anyhow, today I am not writing a lot about the cards, because there are a lot of pictures and inspiration waiting for you along the hop. So, I will only briefly indicate the products that I used for each of the cards. You will find the links to these products by clicking on their names 🙂

The first card features the following products:

Color Layering Bird and Branch stamp set
Color Layering Frame Cuts
Mariana’s Cornflower ink pack

“I chose blue tones for this little bird because they are peaceful and they remind me about the freedom of the sky. A hint of a darker color was just perfect to accentuate the bird and floral details.”

My second card features the following products:

Color Layering Seahorse
Color Layering Seahorse Frame Cuts
Mariana’s Pool ink pack

“Imagining the creatures that live in the ocean, makes me think about fresh and light colors. I stamped this pretty seahorse with layers of soft Pool and Purple, with a final dash of a darker blue to tie the combo altogether. “
