An i {heart} papers Card [Many Thanks]

Hi there!

Today I am sharing a tiny card (3″x3″) that I created using some products that I bought at the i {heart} papers store…

I used patterned papers from a 6×6 paper pad collection called Be Different by Fancy Pants, and cute stamp set called You are a Hoot by Lawn Fawn (along with its matching dies.) That owl is super cute, don’t you think? Additionally I used a sentiment by Paper Smooches (Word Salad), wiggly eyes and Glossy Accents over the sentiment (I love Glossy Accents!)

As you all know, the i {heart} papers store is closing and their merchandise is currently on liquidation, so don’t forget to visit them to see what great products are still available. The current discount is 50% off! Use coupon code BYEIHP at checkout.

Well, that’s all from me right now, I will be back soon to share another card!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂 Have a wonderful crafty week!

i {heart} papers Card [XoXo]

Quick post today, just to share a card using products from the i {heart} papers store 🙂

I used a cute bunny included in a set called A Magical Spring by Paper Smooches. I stamped the image on patterned paper, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After I cut out the image, I used a white cardstock rectangle and a patterned paper strip as the base for the bunny. Additionally to the little stamped heart, I stamped a sentiment by Hero Arts. I embellish this card with a piece of Earthy Hemp Twine, and some Kaiser Craft Basic Rhinestone gems. As you can see, quite simple. I always like to have sketches that can use many times and also can save you time, specially when you need to make “last minute” cards.
Well, today I am also sharing the sketch of this card, so please feel free to grab it!

Well, that’ all from me today. Thanks for visiting, have a nice crafty week!

Virginia’s View Challenge #3 [Guest Designer]

Today I am thrilled to share that I am the Guest Designer at…

V.V. Challenge (May)

This month’s theme as you have seen is Stitching. I created two cards based on the inspiration images and colors, along with the required stitching details. If you have seen my work before, I am sure you have noticed that I like to add stitches details to my cards, but usually I use my sewing machine. Well, this time I challenged myself using a needle and embroidery floss 🙂 So Here is the first one…

This card features a Hero Arts woodblock stamp that belongs to a set called Words & Flowers. The image was stamped with black ink on a sticky-back canvas card. I love the texture of the canvas, and I also added handmade stitches along the edge to create a rustic look. The flower was also stamped twice on orange cardstock to be trimmed onto two pieces (outer and inner shapes). Then,  the two pieces were layered with foam tape on top of the canvas image. Additionally, I put Glossy Accents details, to make the leaves and flower center to stand out.  I used patterned paper as the background (6×6 Harvest Lane Paper Pad by Simple Stories) and I complemented this card with a thanks sentiment by Jane’s Doodles (Cube It).

The handmade stitches were not so complicated after all, so I created  a second card…

This card is quite simple. I used embroidery floss to make the flowers, stems and leaves. To obtain perfect circles I used a circle template and pierced the holes using a piercing tool  (even numbers of holes work perfect). Then, I simply handmade the stitches to create the flowers.

For the stems I used a stitch template, and I also made some extra holes for the leaves. A sentiment by Paper Smooches ( Word Salad)  and three enamel dots were the only extra details for this card.

Well, I hope you have liked my projects. Please be sure to stop by Virginia’s View blog for more inspiration and ideas, and why not? …you can also join this challenge!

That’s all from me today 🙂 Have a fabulous crafty week!

A SC Card [Many Thanks]

Happy Friday everyone!

Just super quick today to share the last card of April! I know the month of May has already started, and of course I am behind schedule 🙂 Well, another April card won’t hurt anyone, so here is a card featuring a Silhouette shape called Rainy Day Bear with Umbrella….

This shape is very cute, I used the theme colors of April. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches (Word Salad) and the patterned paper is by Pebbles (6×6 pad Sunny Side collection). I added a bit of dimension with foam tape and Glossy Accents. I almost forget!…The raindrops are by Jane’s Doodles (Raindrops).

I have to confess that I also found inspiration on this picture of  my furry Shelby 🙂 She looks great wearing her pink raincoat! Don’t you think?

Well, I will be presenting the new inspiration picture and theme colors on Monday… so hopefully May will be a better creative month for me!

That’s all from me today 🙂 I hope you all have a fabulous crafty weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

A JD Card [Happy Everything]

Happy Monday, everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was great, but the thing is that when you have lots of fun, it seems like the days are too short and the weekend ends too fast! Well, I didn’t do anything crafty, but I went shopping… and that was really fun. Anyways, here is a card that I created with one of the sets I designed for Jane’s Doodles: Raindrops and a sentiment included in Simply Said by Paper Smooches

I love when with just card stock, a couple of stamps, ink colors and Glossy Accents you can create a fun card 🙂

That’s all from me today 😀 I hope you all have a fabulous crafty week.

A SU Card [Hey Buddy] + Giveaway

Happy Monday, everyone!

I am back today to share a card featuring a cute set by Stampin’Up: Aviary

This is a CAS card, with a minimum of details. I don’t think these cute images need a lot to stand out by themselves. The stamps are cling style and I like that they come in a thin plastic box, similar to the video games ones.  I added a sentiment included in a set named Simply Said by Paper Smooches

Lately, I have been organizing my stamps… again. I already  have added some of my used stamps to my page  4 SALE, because I am trying to have more free space for other things on my shelves, so that is the only reason. I wish I could keep everything, but I can’t. I have a couple of stamps that are new, and those I will be giving them away from time to time here on my blog. The first one that I would like to giveaway to a lucky winner is  a brand new  Hero Arts set called Hooray. The only request: leave a comment telling me about your current favorite stamp company… Easy peasy. Contest will be open to US  residents only and You have until Thursday midnight central time (03/13/14) to leave your comments and I will randomly choose a winner.  I will announce the name of the lucky one on Friday (03/14/14)… So, stay tuned  :)

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a wonderful crafty week!

A FC & SC Card [Now and Forever]

Happy Monday, everyone!

I am back today to share a card that I created using Faber Castell Gelatos and my Silhouette Cameo.  Let me tell you first, that I just love the yummy colors here. This was one of those projects that you start making with something in mind, but as you go, you change your mind a couple times to end up with something completely different, but what it really matters is that you are happy with it…

I found inspiration on the Faber Castell blog to create the background of this card. I have to confess that I am in love with my Gelatos 🙂 So, I created the background using watercolor paper and Gelatos  mixed with water.  I also added a little of stamping,  and a bit of dimension with an stencil and lightweight spackling… I promise, I will make a video to show how I created the background, because is hard to explain. This card is a total mix of different things 🙂 Anyway,  after my background was dry and ready for the focal point, I cut a shape called Butterfly with my Cameo using patterned paper and Kraft. Additionally, I stamped a sentiment included in a set called Simple Said by Paper Smooches. The final touches were stitches and gems.

Here the colors if you liked them…

Please comeback on Wednesday… The February  Guest Designer of my blog will be sharing a fabulous card!

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a wonderful crafty week!

A JD Card [You are so Nice]

Happy Monday, everyone!

I am sharing today a card with a fun technique called “No Line Coloring”. I have been a bit out of the crafty world, and I am sure this technique has been around for a while. Well, I just found out about it. The recommendation for this technique is to use Memento dye ink (Angel Pink color) or (Desert Sand color). So I look for these particular colors at local craft stores, but I couldn’t find them,  and because I wanted  to try out this new technique (at least for me) as soon as possible,  I found in my stash a HA Shadow dye ink (Soft Pink color) that I think it worked just perfectly fine for my first card.

For the card I used a JD doll stamp image called Little Miss Mia (currently this image is only available as digi-stamp), and two clear sets: Sweet Heart (heart image) and Holiday Patterns (Faux stitch image). The sentiment is by Paper Smooches (Word Salad).  I also used Copic Markers to color the doll, and Distress Inks for the heart garland 🙂

Well, that’s all from me for today, so thanks for your visit :) I hope you have a wonderful crafty week!
