Sometimes I wish I would have had my I-phone when my sons were growing up and have taken lots and lots of pictures of them back then. Even though I am grateful that I had a camera at least to capture some of those moments, specially those experiencing new things for the very first time. Today I am sharing s letter size scrapbook page that I created of my oldest son when he went trick or treating for the first time. This page shows one of the few pictures I took that day. I know, he looks quite serious, but I bet the one that was smiling was me behind the camera! 🙂 Anyhow, I won’t explain the steps of this page, but I will mention the great Fun Stampers Journey products that I used to create it.
The Fall-O-Ween prints were obviously my choice for this page. I love that this collection includes papers perfect for the autumn celebrations. I used a Black Licorice cardstock panel matted with one of the prints. I stamped the Widows’s Web background stamp twice with Whip Cream True Color Fusion ink to cover part of the background. I cut a few rectangles of different sizes to layer them above the stamped area and underneath the photo.
I created a couple of clusters of elements. For the one on the upper right, I used the skeleton from the B&W Halloween stickers and the skull clip from the All Hallows Eve Clips. I also used a tag with my favorite twine, the Gift Twine. I also included some Journey tape pieces and some gems from the Spooky Eve Stickers. I complemented them with a few Toil and Trouble buttons and staples.
For the cluster on the left, I used one of the sentiments included in Strange Beauty stamp set as the title on my page. I was afraid that the sentiment was going to look small, but I think that with all the elements surrounding it looks just fine.
The pumpkin underneath the mushroom bunch is form a Fall set called Happy Harvest. As the final touches for this page I included some lines of journaling, Sparkle silk, and stitches.
Please remember that the Crush on Color promotion is available thru the month of September, and this is a good chance to get some of the colors you might have on your wishlist. For more details about it click on the image below:
