FSJ • Trick or Treat Layout

Sometimes I wish I would have had my I-phone when my sons were growing up and have taken lots and lots of pictures of them back then. Even though I am grateful that I had a camera at least to capture some of those moments, specially those experiencing new things for the very first time. Today I am sharing s letter size scrapbook page that I created of my oldest son when he went trick or treating for the first time. This page shows one of the few pictures I took that day. I know, he looks quite serious, but I bet the one that was smiling was me behind the camera! 🙂  Anyhow, I won’t explain the steps of this page, but I will mention the great Fun Stampers Journey products that I  used to create it.

The Fall-O-Ween prints were obviously my choice for this page. I love that this collection includes papers perfect for the autumn celebrations. I used a Black Licorice cardstock panel matted with one of the prints. I stamped the Widows’s Web background stamp twice with Whip Cream True Color Fusion ink to cover part of the background.  I cut a few rectangles of different sizes to layer them above the stamped area and underneath the photo.

I created a couple of clusters of elements. For the one on the upper right,  I used the skeleton from the B&W Halloween stickers and the skull clip from the All Hallows Eve Clips.  I also used a tag with my favorite twine, the Gift Twine. I also included some Journey tape pieces and some gems from the Spooky Eve Stickers. I complemented them with a few Toil and Trouble buttons and staples.

For the cluster on the left, I used one of the sentiments included in Strange Beauty stamp set as the title on my page. I was afraid that the sentiment was going to look small, but I think that with all the elements surrounding it looks just fine.

The pumpkin underneath the mushroom bunch is form a Fall set called Happy Harvest. As the final touches for this page I included some lines of journaling, Sparkle silk, and stitches.

Please remember that the Crush on Color promotion is available thru the month of September, and this is a good chance to get some of the colors you might have on your wishlist. For more details about it click on the image below:

FSJ • Happy New Year + 5 Faves Cards & Products

The year is almost over, and by now we all should have a list or at least, a tentative list of  resolutions for the upcoming year, right? Well, mine is a short list that of course, includes sharing projects more often here on my blog. 2017 was a busy year for our family, so between two jobs, having the task of selling our old house, finding a new one, and moving in, was challenging to me. On the good note, the 2017 resolutions “selling the house” and “buying a house”  have a  big check mark on the side! I can not complain, everything worked perfect for us.

Anyways,  today I am sharing a card that I made for New Years. I have to say that using patterned papers can always save you a lot of time, specially if you are short of time. I used one of the prints from the Through the Year prints pack, an with one of these 12 x 12 sheets you can make as eight backgrounds for a card like mine below:

The focal point was simply stamped with Black Licorice Ink over a Whip Cream small panel. I put some Journey Glaze over the words and glasses of Champagne. While the Journey glaze was still wet, I added some Silver Shavings over the glasses just to make them shine, and they actually look like tiny pretty bubbles 😉

I complemented the background with strips of different kinds of Journey tape, some mirror gold stars, silk and some stars that I cut out from the Star Struck  strip. That was it!

To end this year and to share again with you, I chose five card that are my 2017 favorites. Please click on them if you want to see more details about them:

FSJ • Believe Card

The holidays are around the corner, and this is a great time to do a little bit of everything: planning, shopping, wrapping presents, cooking, baking, and why not?… create some cards 🙂 Today I am sharing a Christmas card, using some Fun Stampers Journey products, take a look:

120617web_Believe

I used two of my favorites stamp sets suited for this season: Poinsettia Burst and Holiday Script. These two sets have a matching die set, which makes crafting easier. I used one of the papers that belong to Christmas Cheer Prints pack as the background panel. That specific print was my starting point to select the cardstock and ink colors.

I layered a piece of vellum, and a pierced rectangle on top of the background panel and then I simply layered two stamped poinsettias, a gold-embossed sentiment, and another pretty foliage element from the Timeless Foliage steel rule.  Last, I complemented the card with some loops of Gold thread, a few rainbow drops, Journey tape and staples.

Today I also want to share the new promotion that Fun Stampers Journey just launched:

FSJ • Happy Thanksgiving

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a card that I created to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. This card features wonderful products from the Fun Stampers Journey Holidays catalog. Take a look:

112317web_happythanksg

I used one of the paper prints from the Fall Fest Prints as the background. Then I stamped some of the leaves from the Hello Fall stamp set using different colors of ink. I die cut those images with their matching dies.

112317web_happythanksg2

I created the sentiment with the Happy Merry stamp set, and I want to point out that this is one of the sets you need to have for the holiday season. It has lots of sentiments that can be combined to make sentiments from Halloween to New Years. Anyway,  once I have stamped it, I cut it into a strip and I matted it with a strip of Kraft cardstock.  Then, I layered the leaves and sentiment over the card, and I used s few Rainbow Drops and Gold Thread to complete my card.

Well, that’s all from me for today.  I hope you enjoy this special day spending time with all your loved ones and eating lots of yummy food!
