FSJ • Merry Christmas Card + Sketch

Don’t you like it when you can create a card that is easy to duplicate? I love when I can have my little assembly line and save some time when making several cards at a time. Today I am sharing a card that might work that way. I made it using a few Fun Stamper Journey products, so I hope you get some inspiration from me. Take a look:

I began by putting two strips of washi tape over a Whip Cream cardstock panel (Holiday Fun + Candy Apple washi tapes). Then, I adhered the panel over a Candy Apple folded card. After that, I die cut a hexagon from Whip Cream cardstock, and a pine shape from Kiwi Slice cardstock. I adhered the hexagon onto the card front and the pine tree shape over the hexagon using Journey foam squares. I want to point out that the pine tree shape belongs to a great die set called : Special Day Tags, and I consider it one of those “must have” in your stash!

The sentiment that I used belongs to a set called Holiday Joy and it was white-embossed over a Black Licorice cardstock strip.  I adhered it onto the card with Journey Foam Squares and I simply complemented the card with three pretty Holiday Sparkles.

Here you have the sketch for this card.Remember that sketches are versatile and you can always give them your personal spin!

FSJ • Stay Cozy Card

It’s that time of the year when days start being shorter and seems the hours are  not enough  because, there is a lot of things to do and accomplish before the end of the year. Well, besides other things I have been trying to do, I have been working hard to share a bit more cards this month. So today I have another wintery card! This one showcases a pretty Fun Stampers Journey stamp set called Stay Cozy.

I used an embossing folder called Cozy Knit to emboss a  Cool Pool cardstock panel and then,  I adhered it over a Cranberry Bliss cardstock folded card. After that I die cut two circles. One using the Circles Around die set and a b/w plaid print from the  Cozy Prints paper pack. The other pierced circle was die cut using the Journey Circles die set and Whip Cream cardstock. I want to point out that the circles from both of these sets are different so you can have more circle size options. I also used a strip of red plaid print and a piece of Silver Sparkle Washi Tape to create a few layers over the card, alternating the elements: tape, plaid circle, paper strip, pierced circle.

Next, I stamped the darling snowy village scene onto Whip Cream cardstock using Black Licorice ink. I colored the image using Color Burst Color Pencils and I added Journey Glaze and Sparkle cuts. I trimmed around the image with scissors and andhered the piece onto the pierced circle with Journey Foam squares. I  complemented the card with a  white-embossed sentiment over a Black Licorice cardstock circle,  and I finished it up  with a couple of staples and some silver sequins.

FSJ • Inspired By | Holly Jolly Christmas

Sometimes when creating, and you are not pretty sure how to tackle a project, simplicity can make wonders. So, inspired by my talented friend Kim Kesti and this amazing card of hers, I created a card, using the same Fun Stampers Journey stamp set and the same design concept, take a look:

Rather than using very bright colors like Kim’s card,  I went for the route of  more traditional colors. The pretty set that we used is called Deck the Halls and the images included in it are perfect to create a fireplace Christmas scene. I began my card by stamping the fireplace, wreath and sentiment with Black Licorice ink over a Whip Cream panel. I matted the panel with one Cozy Prints Printed Paper rectangle, and I adhered the panel over a Kiwi Slice folded card.

The concept design of pop of color is simply genius. I stamped the bow, stocking and presents with Black Licorice ink over different colors of cardstock (Chambray Shirt, Candy Apple, Limeade Splash. Then, I fussy cut those images and adhered them onto the card front. I used foam tape to add dimension to some of those elements. To finish up this card, I added a Journey Glaze to the sentiment and I put a few Party Burst dots over the wreath.  Easy, pretty and fun.

FSJ • Wishing You…

It’s hard to believe that the month of December is about to begin, so I think today is a good idea to start sharing with you one of the Christmas cards that I have made so far using Fun Stampers Journey products. This card was made using a nice stamp set called Holiday Joy along with the Branch & Cone die set.

I began this card by making the background. I know is a bit hard to see but I used a Fresh Sage cardstock panel, and using a small dauber dowel and Whip Cream ink, I created a bokeh effect. It is actually a ver subtle effect that lightens the color underneath and makes it softer and uneven. It is really pretty in real life! Once the background panel was completly dried, I Gold-embossed the sentiment. I adhered the panel over a Oatmeal Cookie cardstock panel and then, onto a Fresh Forest folded card.

The pine branches were die cut from Green Olive cardstock, and the pine cones from Oatmeal Cookie and Hazelnut Blend cardstock. I arranged the shapes and adhered them using a bit of Journey Craft Glue,  Glue Dots and Foam Squares to add a bit of dimension. To finish up this card, I used Gift Twine, Sparkle silk and some Gold Friendship sequins.

Always Christmas cards are so much fun to make, no matter what technique, type of products you use, or colors! I like to improvise, and also enjoy my projects as I create them! How about you?

FSJ • Autumn Colors Layout

Hello there! Today I am sharing a page that I made to document a late Autumn day that my husband and I spent together at the botanic garden. I always have loved the colors of this season, so I made a 8.5 x 11 page  to showcase one of my favorites pictures of that day using several wonderful  Fun Stampers Journey products.

I used a sheet of  Oatmeal Cookie cardstock  as the page base.  I used the Tag Set to die cut some shapes  from Rock CandyPumpkin Bread and Pomegranate Splash cardstock colors which were also stamped with different backgrounds (Playful LeavesGrid PaperColor Me Fall). Additionally, I die cut a couple of tags from a sheet of patterned paper that belongs to the Through The Year prints collection. All those tags were arranged around the picture to create a kind of frame/background.

I complemented the page with the Pretty Leaves Die Set. These leaves are beautiful and you can use them as the perfect embellishments for any of your Fall projects. The word Autumn belong to a stamp set called Harvest Wreath, and the word “colors” were die cut using the Journey Serifs steel rule die. I used small pieces of foam squares to add dimension to each of the letters.

I added some final details like a wood leaf, Gold Friendship Sequins, Journey tape, a partial Border Essential at the very top, and a strip of embossed Pumpkin Bread cardstock.

FSJ • Happy Harvest Card

Hello, hello! Today I just wanted to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends. We will be celebrating this day with some good friends at their house, so I am very excited to spend time with them, eat some delicious food and since we don’t see them very often, catch up with them. Anyway, I also have a card that I made using a fabulous Fun Stampers Journey stamp set called All Year Long. This also has a matching die set which makes cutting those cute stamps so easy!

I used the Chasing Seasons embossing folder, a Pineapple Smoothie cardstock panel,  and Whip Cream ink to create the background.  The squirrel image was stamped with Pumpkin Bread and Hazelnut Blend ink over Whip Cream cardstock and then die cut with its matching die. I made a small rectangle and matted with Vellum paper as the base for the main image. I added some details to it: Gift twine and Pop of Color tape.  I also added a Green Olive border underneath the rectangle affixed with Gold staples.

The sentiment was simply white embossed over a Pumpkin Bread 1.25″ circle and to finish up this card, I splattered some Dark Roast and Gold silks and I adhered some sequins.

FSJ • Choose to Be Grateful + 10K Celebration Challenge

Hi there! Today I am sharing a card that I created using a cute stamp set from the Journey Holidays mini catalog by FSJ. This set is called Thankful Friends and I really like the little fox included in it.

I began by creating the main image and sentiment. To achieve the subtle ombré effect of the image, I inked it with three colors: Citrus Cooler, Tangerine Fusion and a bit of Pumpkin Bread, and then,  I die cut it with its matching die. Next, I stamped the hat and scarf with Blue Lagoon True Color Fusion Ink over a piece of  Cool Pool cardstock; I fussy cut the stamped images with scissors, and adhered them over the fox.

I also stamped the sentiment with Hazelnut Blend True Color Fusion ink and die cut with its matching die as well. After that, I  adhered them over a Whip Cream hexagon shape with foam squares.

For this card, I used a Blue Lagoon base card, and a Pineapple Smoothie rectangle. This rectangle was embossed with the Tiny Dots embossing folder and then I rubbed the Whip Cream pigment ink pad over, to enhanced the dots. Additionally, I used a Pool Play Sparkle tape and Gift Twine.

I adhered the hexagon onto the card with foam squares and I adhered a few Fashion Silver pearls here and there. Here you have the color combo I used for this card:
