A Cricut Card [Happy Birthday]

Hi there!
I am back today to share a card that I made using my Cricut Expression 2 and a bunch of paper scraps…

The image that I used is from a cartridge called Birthday Cakes. First, I cut the cupcakes “base shadow blackout” using white card stock. Next, I cut the cupcakes as a base using brown card stock. Then,  I cut the cupcakes using different patterned papers. For some reason, in this particular image,  the zigzag edges of the bottom and upper parts of the cupcake images don’t  match. So, I had to overlap the two pieces, and then cut a little bit of the brown base with my scissors. I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment by Hero Arts, using two colors of ink… just because…I think it looks cool.  Anyway, at the very end, I adhered the cupcakes using foam tape…a pearl and some liquid pearls too 🙂  This card looks quite simple, but the making wasn’t that quick and simple as it looks…

Well, that’s all from me today 🙂 Thanks for visiting, I hope you all have fabulous long weekend!

A Cricut Card [You Color My World]

That’s all from me today 🙂 I hope you all have a fabulous crafty week.

A Cricut Card [Just for You]+ Giveaway

Hi there!

Today is the last day of the month, so here is a card I made using this week’s card sketch 169 by My Favorite Things …. The original sketch suggests a flower as the main embellishment, but I used a bird instead….If you want to see the sketch please click >>>HERE<<<

I used my Cricut Expression to create this card. I used Label 2 included in Cricut Essentials, and Fly Bird included in French Manor cartridge. The patterned papers are included in Harvest Lane 6×6 paper pad by Simple Stories. I created the sentiment with my computer and I added Glossy Accents, along with sequins and stitches.

Today I also have a little giveaway for a lucky reader… The name of the set is Summer Breeze by My Little Shoe Box. Just leave a comment below…Easy peasy. Contest will be open to US  residents only and you have until Thursday midnight central time (04/03/14) to leave your comments and I will randomly choose a winner.  I will announce the name of the lucky one on Friday (04/04/14)… So, stay tuned  :)

A Cricut Card [Happy Birthday]

Happy Friday, everyone!

Quick post today, just to share a simple card that I made using my Cricut Expression

I used a cute bird image included in  Birthday Cakes cartridge  and patterned papers from Hip Hip Hooray 6×6 paper pad by American Crafts….. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and belongs to a set called Little Birdie. I also used decorative tape, a wiggle eye for the birdie, and a few gemstones.

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a fantastic crafty weekend!

A Cricut Card [Thank You]

Happy Friday everyone!

Just popping in to share a card that I created using my Cricut Expression 2 and some pretty patterned papers….

The heart shape belongs to the Cricut Essentials collection that came pre-loaded in my Cricut Expression 2, and it is called Heart 2. I used patterned papers from  a 6×6 pad  collection called Sunny Side by Pebbles.  I also used buttons, a paper doily, stitches and a Hero Arts/Studio Calico sentiment included in a set called Oh Snap.  I want to point out that a few weeks ago I went to a store called Tuesday Morning; they have a small section of craft supplies and there, I found several 6×6 papers pads (including the one I used today)  at a very very good price. I saw some embellishments, inks and other products too. Maybe next time you are near one of these stores, you can take a look of what products they have available for you 🙂

Please comeback tomorrow, I will be sharing Silhouette tips and a sneak peek of a card created by a good cyber-friend of mine 🙂

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a fantastic crafty weekend!

A Cricut Card [Miss You]

I think one of the reasons I chose butterflies as the theme for this month is because I wish we  already are in Spring. This winter has been very cold… and snowy too. Don’t get me wrong, I like where I live, and the people too, is just that this year has been extremely cold. I just wish that the winter would be shorter 🙂 The bad part is that the groundhog saw its shadow this year, right? Lol, I am not sure if I should believe that tradition from now on… I hope he is wrong 🙂
Anyways, I have a card for today featuring some Cricut shapes…

The pretty frame belongs to the Cricut Essentials  that came pre-loaded in my Cricut Expression 2, and it is called Label 2. The Butterfly belongs to Birthday Cakes cartridge an its name is Butrfly 2, but I changed it a little bit, because instead of using the inner shape that comes with the butterfly, I combined it with a heart shape that belongs to Border8.   The patterned papers are from a 6×6 paper pad collection called Dear Lizzy-Lucky Charm by American Crafts. It was fun to combined patterned papers with card stock 🙂 The sentiment is by Hero Arts-Studio Calico (Hey Day Sentiments) I embellished my card with sequins, glossy accents and stitches 🙂

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a wonderful crafty week!

Another Scrapbook Page [How Cute!]

I am back today with another scrapbook page of my Shelby. This time, I used my Cricut Expression 2 to create the title, hearts and cute dog. If you noticed is the same dog that I used for this card, but I flipped the shape and I did a couple of modifications to the dog with my scissors… I wanted it to look more like my Shelby, so I cut out part of the black layer to simulate Shelby’s back spots, and I also trimmed a bit of the tail…

I am not in love with the pictures I took today, but I finished the page around four in the afternoon, and the sunlight was not as bright as I like 🙂 Anyway, I based my page on a layout included in the  Scrapbook Trends December 2013 (Article 10, Page 5). Of course I had to modified some of the details, but overall I think the page turned out fine 🙂

I used Create a Critter to cut the dog and hearts, and I also used Birthday Cakes to create the title. I have to point out that I am missing a little journaling right under the titles that it will read “…And Shelby knows it!” My printer was not printing right, so I think I have to clean the heads or change the ink cartridge.

On another note, I am selling my CRICUT ORIGINAL and my ORIGINAL Silhouette. both of them work perfectly and they are in very good condition. If you are interested or know of somebody that could be interested please contact me. I will put pictures of them in my “4 Sale” tab soon.

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a wonderful crafty week!

A JD Card [BFF]

Happy Monday, everyone!

Here is a card featuring two JD stamp sets: Double Trouble and Suzi

I used patterned papers (paper strips and cat) from a 6×6 paper pad collection called Dear Lizzy-Lucky Charm by American Crafts, as well as a a patterned paper (dog) from “Hey You” 6×6 paper pad by Basic Grey. The heart shape that I used  (behind the cute cat and dog) is a preloaded image of my Cricut Expession 2.  I also used white embossing powder for the sentiment, stitches and some yummy sequins.

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a wonderful crafty week!

A Cricut Card [Good Friends…]+ Giveaway

I wanted to post this card yesterday, but for one reason or another, it was simply impossible. Anyway, here is a card that I created using a cute dog included in a Cricut cartridge called ” Create a Critter“… I just love all the images in this cartridge…They are very cute, and you can easily use them either cards or scrapbook pages…Removedforpublication

I also used a Hero Arts-Basic Grey sentiment included in a set named Life is Fun. I think  this sentiment couldn’t be more proper for this cute dog…. The patterned papers are from a 6×6 paper pad collection called Dear Lizzy-Lucky Charm by American Crafts. The only thing I didn’t like about this pad is that it only includes one of each patterned paper design…. Besides that, all the patterned paper designs are very pretty. Well, I also added Glossy Accents, Wiggle Eyes, sequins and stitches.

Today I also have a giveaway…

sequins5 I brought these yummy sequins from Mexico, and I made four color combos with them:

Red, black, white combo
Orange, brown, gold combo
Purple, magenta, clear combo
Turquoise, lime, gold combo

Soon I will  put more little packages in my Etsy Store for sale, so meanwhile for the chance to win the four packages  shown above, please leave a comment telling me about your favorite furry friends 🙂 You have until Wednesday midnight central time (01/22/14) to leave your comments and I will randomly choose a winner.  I will announce the name of the lucky one on Friday (01/24/14)… So, stay tuned  :)

Thank you for stopping by  :) Good Luck to All!

A Cricut Card [I Love You]

The year is just beginning and I am thrilled to be back here in my cyber spot. I went to Mexico for fifteen days with my hubby and two sons,  and I really enjoyed my time there. I spent time with my mom, sister and brothers, and I also had the chance to see some of my girl friends. The food was awesome, and the weather was very nice. I took my Ipad with me and thanks to that, I could keep posting my cards from there. We came back on Thursday, our flight was delayed about two and a half hours due to the nasty weather here in Chicago, but luckily we arrived home safe and sound.

While I was in Mexico, I had time to think about my blog, specifically I thought about the things I want to share this year. I have been posting cards since 2009 following the rules of challenges and design teams, so this year it will be a little bit more about what I want to create 🙂 Every month I will randomly choose a theme for my cards and other projects. Besides my stamped cards, I want to include projects using my Cricut and my Silhouette, as well as Scrapbooking pages. The theme that I chose for January is Cats & Dogs

Why cats and dogs? Well, since I was a child,  pets have always been part of my life. So this month, whatever I am going to say… I will do it with a cat or a dog. I also want to set certain days  to post my theme projects, but that is something I still have to define. Currently, besides Jane’s Doodles, I don’t have any other commitments with other stamps companies, so that gives me the freedom I need to choose the days and products that I want to use.  If you have any suggestions for themes, please feel free to leave your ideas as a comment. At the end of the month I will have a Guest Designer, and I am not sure yet, but maybe I will leave a space for you to share your projects… Maybe this is the time for you to use that stamp image that you haven’t used yet, or create that scrapbook page of your pet that you have set aside. I hope you like the idea and I also hope you can find inspiration on what I will be posting this year.

Well, here is my first project using my Cricut…

For this card I used two cartridges: Lacy Labels and Meow. I cut out the little cats using a 6×6 pad Collection called Hey Girl!  by Basic Grey. The sentiment is included in Year Round Sentiments by Hero Arts. I just added a few details to this card: Glossy Accents, sequins and some stitches.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂 Have a wonderful crafty week!
