Hero Arts Summer Catalog Sneak peeks

All the new Paper Layering products by Hero Arts are simply fabulous. Today we are sharing sneak peeks of some of those products that are included in the new 2016 Summer Catalog.

My card features the Paper Layering Daisy with Frame. The daisy itself is a pop-up die, that gives the paper a 3-D effect.  I have to say that I really love the frame part. This one allows you to create an independent shape if you need to. This way,  you have the freedom of placing the flower anywhere you want. I  think this daisy is just perfect for a scrapbook page 😉

For this card I used Sunshine Mix Layering Paper and I  layered the flower as follows: frame + daisy w/frame + daisy w/frame. I colored  the center of the flower with ink and a sponge dauber and then, I layered the three shapes.  To create the background I used Foliage Mix Layering Paper, the Bold Daisy Stencil, ink and a sponge dauber. The sentiment Grateful was gold-embossed , and at the end I added some gemstones and pearls.

Summer is around the corner and at Hero Arts we are ready to share some sneak peeks of the amazing products that are included in the new 2016 Summer Catalog. We are starting the week featuring Color Layering Stamp sets, so my card for today features a set named Color Layering Flamingo.

041116web_yourefabulous

The set includes, besides the Flamingo some other images and sentiments that complement the main image. For my card, I created the layers of the bird with different colors of ink: Neon Ombré Red To Purple ink, Orchid Hybrid InkMulle Wine Hybrid Ink,  and Intense Black Ink for the eye and beak. Another product that is going to be available along with this fabulous set is its matching Flamingo Frame Cut,  so keep this in mind when you make your wish list 😉

I created the  background of this card using the Waved Pattern woodblock stamp Pool Layering Paper and Tide Pool Mid Tone Shadow Ink. At the end I simply added a sentiment and a few clear gemstones.

RG Lumberjack Layout

I really enjoy every time I get to scrapbook one of my old pictures, because many memories come to my mind. I love that each picture traps a moment and makes you remember about it. Today I am sharing an 8″x 8″ scrapbook page that I made using several fabulous products from the new Lumberjack Collection by Richard Garay.

mg_lumberjack_younglayout3

The picture that I chose is one that I took with my camera and a tripod of my husband and myself. This is kind of a selfie in the 80’s 😀  With this in mind, I printed out the picture in black and white with a cream filter. Which made the grey tones look a bit yellowish, in order to make the picture look old. I know, it is old anyway (sigh).

For this page, I used a sketch by Laura Whitaker that you can find by >>>clicking here<<<. I wanted to use the Lumberjack Bromance Printed 6″ x 6″ Paper pad to create my page, so I coordinated them with some Fun Stampers Journey card stock colors.

I created the texture using the Knitted Pattern Embossing Folder and FSJ Raspberry Berry card stock. I did one half first and then, the other half. I didn’t worry about where the two textures joined because I kew that part was going to be covered with the other elements.

mg_lumberjack_younglayout10

Then, I trimmed it into a 7.5″ x 7.5″ panel. I also matted it with FSJ Rock Candy card stock and I added stitches along the edge. The three stripes behind the picture were made from Bromance Printed papers (1.5″ x 6″) as well as the picture mat.

mg_lumberjack_younglayout4

To create the embellishments of this page I mixed and matched Lumberjack Blooms  and Bromance Blooms Die sets along with FSJ Butter Cream card stock.

mg_lumberjack_younglayout2

I also used the Brach Out die set and FSJ River Stone card stock to complement the blooms. Aren’t those flowers so fun and pretty? Aditionally I put a Bro Rivets as the flower centers.

mg_lumberjack_younglayout9

No journaling this time, just a a simple title that I made with my electronic cutting machine and textured card stock,  a complementary word with my Dymo label buddy, and some stickers to record the year when that picture was taken. I adhered some clear gemstones as the final touches for this page.

I have a pile of favorite pictures still waiting to be put on a scrapbook page, and I wish I could dedicate a little bit more of my time to scrapbook more often, because I really enjoy doing this.

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop

MMH_logo_1000x1197

Happy Monday everyone!

Today is the release day for the MMH kit of April!  This new wonderful kit will be available TODAY April 4th at 1pm (Eastern time) at the Hero Arts store. Be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone.

This new kit contains: a 4×6 clear stamp set, a set of four Frame Cuts dies (designed to cut and stack the flower into a layered element), a Paper Layering die (which allows you to pop-up a single stamped rose for a different dimensional look), a dot sheet of DANIEL SMITH watercolors in a palette specifically selected for Hero Arts (each dot of paint allows watercoloring of 2-3 images, to give you an introduction to these wonderful paints), a water brush, and heavy cardstock in cream and white, notecards and pearls. Please take a look:

MH105_main_kit.jpg

There are 3 optional add-on items:  Happy Mother’s Day stamp set, Happy Mother’s Day Frame Cuts, and the fabolous DANIEL SMITH watercolor paints in 15ml tubes (18 colors in all which are the colors used on the Hero Arts Palette dot sheet.)

So for today I created a card, featuring the main stamp set, and some of the watercolor paints. I have to point out, that these watercolor paints are high quality and they are available in a wide variety of wonderful colors. I loved the dots sheet that is included in this month’s kit, because it is a great way to see how each of the colors work. The colors are really pretty, and it is hard to decide which one to use 😀

Anyway, I began by heat-embossing the image of the flower  and leaves a couple times over the heavy card stock with Brass embossing powder. Then, I colored the images with Quinacridone Gold, Quinacridone Siena, and Serpentine Genuine paints. After that I fussy cut the images (you can use the frame cuts instead).

I also heat-embossed some of the leaves and a flower bud over a heavy card stock panel. Then, I colored the images and I created a subtle background with Cerulean Blue.

Additionally, I stamped the sentiment one the panel with Intense Black ink, and I arranged the flower pieces over the panel with foam tape. At the end, I simply adhered the panel over a card base, and I embellished the card with some soft green pearls.

Today’s Card: Hello There

Almost every time I work on an specific project, I like to create a couple of variations of it. Today I am sharing  another version of the card that I shared Monday on the Hero Arts blog.  This card also features the Potted Succulent and Small Potted Succulent woodblock stamps:

033116web_hellothere

For this card I heat-embossed the images with Copper Embossing powder.  Then, I colored the Potted Succulents with Chameleons pens. Additionally,  I die cut the shapes with their matching frame cuts. It is hard to see, but I also put FSJ Journey Glaze over some of the leaves.

033116web_hellothere2

To create the background, I white-embossed a woodblock stamp called Kelly’s Wood Grid over a white card stock panel. After that, I carefully colored some of the tiny squares with markers, and I also put FSJ Journey Glaze on them. It kind of reminds me of those tiny tiles that are used  in kitchens as backsplash 😉

Anyway, after that I adhered the panel over a card base, and then I die cut a piece of foam with the Succulent frame cuts to add dimension (I explained a little trick for that on the HA video, click >>>HERE<<< if you want to see it). I adhered the potted succulents over the panel, and I finished my card adding a simple sentiment from a set called Many Everyday Messages.

RG Celebra’tions Card

Hi! I am  back today to share a card using the Celebra’tions Collection by Richard Garay. I like a lot this collection because it has so many products that you can mix and match to create cards, layouts, party favors, etc. You name it! 😉

mg_celebrationscard2

To create this card I  made a card base with Cool Caribbean card stock. Then, I adhered a patterned paper rectangle on top as a background. I like the happy colors of the patterned paper of this collection!

Next, I used a stamp & die set called  Special Day  to create the main elements of my card. I stamped the balloon images using different colors of ink as well as the banners images (FSJ Banana Cream, FSJ Watermelon Fusion, FSJ Cool Pool, FSJ Huckleberry Fusion).

mg_celebrationscard4

After that, I die cut all the shapes with their matching dies, and I arranged them on top of a Whip Cream card stock rectangle. I adhered the balloons with some Journey Foam squares.  Additionally, I hand-draw the balloons strings and I stamped and die cut the sentiment.

mg_celebrationscard6

Finally, I matted the panel with vellum paper, adhered it over the card base, and I embellished my project with some gemstones and Enamel Elements.
