My Monthly Hero Kit [March]

My Monthly Hero of March is all about coloring! I just received mine yesterday and I love  it! Check it out:

This month’s kit features twelve 4.25″ x 5.5″ coloring cards, designed by Marianne Walker. I love that some of the images included in the stamp set, perfectly match some of the images of the printed cards to add extra interest and dimension.

The cards are printed on high quality X-Press It paper, perfect for use with alcohol markers. This kit is just perfect to put your coloring skills to work!

The kit also contains a 4″ x 6″ clear stamp set and matching metal dies, a cube of alcohol ink-friendly Intense Black ink, four additional blank sheets of X-Press It white card-stock, assorted colored folded-cards and gems.

Remember that this product is for a limited time only.  Once this product sells out, it will no longer be available. 🙂

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another project.

FSJ Planner + RG Make Amazing Happen

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I am back today to share another project using Fun Stampers Journey and Richard Garay products. I recently received the new FSJ Journey Girl Planner, and I have to confess that I was a little nervous about using it. It is so nice and neat that I did not want to mess it up. I have seen how other crafters make a good use of it, and they are so creative when it is time to make shine their planners, so I was a little bit intimidated.

Well, after seen so many fantastic planner ideas on the internet,  I felt inspired and I created a divider for my planner using a couple of stamp sets from the Make Amazing Happen Collection by Richard Garay, and this is how it turned out:

I made a double sided divider using the original divider as a guide (the one that it came with my planner). I am including the easy steps and supplies below so you can see the process.

Journey Girl Binder
Journey Girl 18 months Weekly Calendar
Journey Girl Divider Kit
Black an White Tassel
Whip Cream 8.5″ x 11″ card stock
Make You Stamp set
Amazing Blooms Stamp set
Make Amazing Printed Paper 6″x6″ Pad
Captivating Coral Fusion Ink
Berry Black Fusion Ink
Limeade Splash
Orange Creamcicle
Pineapple Smoothie

Here is how I made my divider…

1. Make a rectangle from Whip Cream card stock using original divider measurements as a guide. Stamp sentiment with Berry Black ink and Flowers with different colors.
2 & 3. Use a mask to block flowers, and then stamp leaves.
4. Stamp a couple more leaves and small flowers randomly.

5. Laminate divider. Trim excess with craft knife. Round Corners.
6. Use original divider as a template to draw where holes need to be punched.
7. Punch holes.
8. Connect holes to edge by trimming a small piece with scissors. Now the divider is ready for your planner.

Additionally, I decorated part of the planner with the Make Amazing Printed papers, and little pieces of decorative tape. I used plain 2×2″ sticky notes and I stamped flower images on them.

I am still in the learning process of the planner world, so I have yet to use paper clips and other items to embellish my planner. As time passes, I’ll keep on utilizing my planner and planning my weeks more creatively!

RG Journey Girl Locket

One of the things I love about my Journey Girl Locket is that I can always give it my personal touch. You can use it to display some of the pretty charms  that are available for purchase or  maybe to display more personal things like a picture or something that you have created. Tomorrow is going to be St. Patrick’s Day, so I thought it would be fun to make a shamrock for my  locket . Check it out:

I took pictures of the steps of my project so you can see how easy and fun can be to create a shamrock for your Journey Girl Locket. I am also listing the products that I used.

RG Celebra’tions Special Day Stamp set
RG elebra’tions Pixie Play Fusion Ink
FSJ Journey Glaze
FSJ Butter Cream card stock
Foiled green or green card stock
Mini heart punch or die
A green seed bead
Scissors, Pencil, green marker

Step by step:

  1. Stamp a balloon image (Special Day stamp set) over a piece of Butter Cream card stock with Pixie Play Fusion Ink .
  2. Punch three mini-hearts from card stock.
  3. Draw the shamrock stem with a green marker.
  4. Apply Journey Glaze over stem, leaving a small drop on the upper end. This will hold the mini hearts on place.mg_journeygirllocketsteps1
  5. Arrange the three hearts over and around the Glaze drop.
  6. Put the seed bead on the center of the shamrock. Let dry.
  7. Using the locket spacer as a template, draw a line around it.
  8. Cut out with scissors.

Then, assemble the locket: glass, shamrock, spacer, glass, close the locket … and that’s it! Now my locket is ready for tomorrow!mg_journeygirllocketB`

RG Celebra’tions Layout

Happy Wednesday!

Currently, one of my favorites collections by Richard Garay is Celebra’tions. I really like this collection because it includes a wide variety of products that you can use in many different type of projects. Today I am sharing a scrap booking page that I created using some of the products from this collection.

Last year, my husband and I took a day off from work, because it was our 26th Anniversary, and we wanted to do something special. So, besides having lunch together,  we went to visit a place called The Bahá’í House of Worship in Wilmette, IL. This place is amazing. I love all the beautiful decorative details of the construction and the peace that you can feel there. Of course, we took a few pictures, so I created  a scrapbooking page with some of them…

Many of my scrapbook pages include photo collages, just because it is faster for me to complete the pages.  I used Assorted Prints 12″ x 12″ Printed cardstock  to create the background of the page. I thought that the doilies of the patterned paper that I used kind of simulate the details of the temple. The title of the page was created with my Silhouette, and regular card stock. The journaling was typed with my computer and printed out on a strip of yellow vellum.

I created the banner with one of the shapes included in Banner Trio Die Set along with patterned paper and regular card stock. The golden hearts were made with one of the Pierced Hearts dies and a piece of metallic card stock.

The little tags were created with a Tag dies set by Fun Stampers Journey, and they were also stamped with sentiments included in Many Words stamp set and Sweet Treats stamp set using Berry Black and Captivating Coral True Color Fusion Inks.

The pretty flower shapes were created with the Enhanced Banner die templates along with patterned papers and card stock. Additionally, I included some Journey Color Buttons, gemstones and pearls by Fun Stampers Journey as the final touches of this page.

Even though, photo collages can take a big chunk of the space on your page, and limit the design itself, with different colors, patterned papers, embellishments and details you can make your pages look different from each other.

My Monthly Hero Blog Hop

Happy Monday everyone!

Today is the release day for the MMH kit of March!  This new wonderful kit will be available TODAY March 7th at NOON (Eastern time) at the Hero Arts store. Be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone.

This kit contains: 12 coloring cards on XPressIt paper, coordinating stamps and dies, an Intense Black ink cube (alcohol marker-friendly), extra XPressIt paper, assorted notecards, and a package of gems.  Please take a look:

Additionally, there are three ads-on items (you can click on them to see a larger image)…

So today as part of this fabulous release,  I created a card featuring one of the images from the add-on stamp set Marianne’s Flowers…

I created the background using Dusty Concord Distress ink and a sponge. Then, I splatter water with a small brush, and after it was dried  I adhered the panel over a card base. To create the focal point, I stamped the flower over white card stock with Intense Black Ink (one of my current favorite products) and I colored the image using my Chameleon markers. I love the effect that you can achieve with these markers. You can always use your favorite markers or technique to color these wonderful images 🙂

After that, I fussy-cut the image with scissors. Then, I white-embossed a sentiment (For You Flowers stamp set) on a black paper strip and I adhered the piece along with some decorative tape over the main panel.  I adhered the flower with foam tape and I embellished the card with some black pearls and gemstones.

As always, there will be two prizes during the hop: a kit ($29.99 value), and also a prize package from Marianne consisting of a 3 pack of Sketch markers, a Flowers Line art pack, and 3 Kirarina 2win scented markers. Over $40 retail value. So in order to participate be sure to leave comments on the blogs below , where you will see another wonderful ideas by talented designers using this kit:

Lasting Hearts Blog Hop

Today I am happy to be participating on a blog hop for a good cause, which was started by the Hero Arts Director of Sales, Kimberly Saldaña.  This organization helps comfort parents, mothers in particular, those who have lost a piece of their heart. You can find more information about it on their Facebook page here:

Hero Arts is donating 25% of the profits from these stamps to support the Lasting Hearts efforts, in cooperation with Angela Miller, the author of “You Are The Mother of All Mothers.”  Here you can see the complete collection:

For this special occasion, I created a clean and simple card showcasing one of the sentiments included in the So Sorry Stamp & Cut set.

I created the partial background over a white panel using a HA set called For You Flowers along with different colors of Shadow inks. The sentiment was stamped with Intense Black Ink.

At the end, the words were enhanced with a layer of Glossy Accents and I put a few sequins as embellishments.

As part of this blog hop Hero Arts is giving away a special prize to three lucky commenters – Angela Miller’s “You Are the Mother of All Mothers” book, as well as the  So Sorry Stamp & Cut set.  So be sure to visit everyone on the list below and leave a comment for the chance to win the wonderful prize 🙂
