Happy Hanukkah

Hi! Today I am sharing a card using a fun Hero Arts stamp set called Happy Hanukkah:

This set  includes  eight coordinating stamps and two mini ink pads (silver and blue), which are perfect to create cards and other craft projects for this special celebration.120715web_happyhanukkahTo create this card I clear-embossed the images onto a white card stock panel. Then, I applied  blue ink with a sponge over the panel, along with a lighter blue color. At the end, I sprayed a dark blue and silver color over the stamped panel, and whipped off the excess ink with a clean cloth. I adhered this panel onto a blue card base.

The sentiment is an individual woodblock stamp also called Happy Hanukkah,  and it was stamped using the blue ink over a white card stock oval. Then, I heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. After that, I silver-embossed the star  and fussy cut it with scissors. I put a piece of silver glittery ribbon over the card base, and I adhered the oval and star onto the card with foam tape. Finally, I added a few gemstones here and there.

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another card.

Today’s Card: Merry and Bright

Yesterday at school, one of the teachers asked her second graders to write in their  journals about the things they like the most about Christmas. Some of the kids were writing about the decorations, setting up the tree,  baking cookies, and of course, the gifts. Overall, one of the things that all of them were including in their journals  was about  the joy and fun that they have with their families at this time of the year. I am always amazed how kids express their thoughts in just a few sentences, and of course they all love to make a colorful picture (I love that part.) I agree with them, Christmas is all about the joy of being with the family and the spirit of giving to others without expecting anything on return.

Anyway, today I am sharing a card featuring a cute mini clear set called: Home Baked by Lia. This set includes several images about baking (which is also one of my favorites things to do at Christmas.) My son Allan and I make Gingerbread cookies every year, and I have to confess… they don’t last long, because they are delicious! (We use this recipe).

  1. Make a  card base from red card stock. Stamp Candy Stripe Bold Prints  with Ruby Dye Ink.
  2. White-emboss gingerbread images over Kraft card stock. Fussy cut images with scissors.
  3. Create a rectangular panel from Snow Layering Paper. On an acrylic block, arrange small stamp images (see image below.) Stamp over panel several times with Soft Sand Shadow Ink.
  4. Stamp sentiment with Red Royal Ink and add glossy accents over words.
  5. Mat panel with Kraft card stock. Adhere over card base.
  6. Adhere cookie images with foam tape and embellish with enamel dots.

Making my Christmas cards is something that I really enjoy doing,  and so far it has been fun to include in them some of the things that I like to do during the Holidays.

Today’s Card: Merry Christmas

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a fun Halloween weekend. For the first time in ten years, I missed it! Saturday was a rainy day, and I decided to go to Ikea around noon to look for a new desk chair and other things for my craft space. Well, Ikea is kind of far away from my house, and I spent more time there than what I should have, so when we came back there were no more kids outside 😦 I felt bad, and the worst part is, I still have the candy. Fortunately, the school is collecting candy for the veterans, so I will take the candy to school soon 🙂 Different target with the same good intention, right?

Anyways, today I am sharing a Christmas card, featuring products from the Hero Arts 2015 Holiday Catalog. The set that I used is called Color Layering Wreath.

I stamped a card base with Candy Stripes Bold Prints withForever Shadow Ink. Then, on a white rectangle, I stamp-layered with the wreath with different colors of ink. The sentiment was simply stamped with Black Dye Ink, and then I put a red card stock mat under the stamped rectangle. Next, I adhered the panel to the card base.  Last,   I added Glossy Accents details that I sprinkled with glitter, and some gemstones here and there.

Today’s Card: CHEER

Hi!

Today I have a card to share with you which features some Hero Arts products from the  2015 Holiday Collection. The set that i chose for this card is called Joyful Tidings Tag Set by Lia. This set includes a metal die-cut along with some sentiments. To create my card,  instead of using the set to create a tag, I used the ornament shape as the focal point of my card.

102715web_cheer

First, I created the background using a cling stamp named Garland Bold Prints along with Brass embossing powder over a Kraft panel. After that,  I die-cut the ornament shape from red card stock, and I cut out a circle from white cardscotk (matching the size of the ornament shape). I put Versamark ink directly over the white circle, and I heat-embossed it using Brass embossing powder. Then, I adhered the circle behind the ornament, and I put it onto the card with foam tape. Next, on a white cardtstock strip, I heat-embossed the word “Cheer”, and I adhered it over the ornament shape. Last, I embellished the card with gold cord and red gemstones.

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another card.

I began by stamping a a card base with a large background stamp called Candy Stripes Bold Prints using Tide Pool Mid-Tone Shadow Ink.  Then,  I stamped the little bear and pine tree with Black ink. I colored the tree with a green marker. I also stamped a little yellow star on top of the tree. I complemented the cute scene with a sentiment included in Happy Merry Messages by Lia which is another “must have set”. The mama bear was stamped and die-cut with its matching die, and I foam mounted it onto the stamped panel.  Next, I adhered the panel onto the card base and I embellished it with gemstones, Stickles and silver cord.

Today’s Card: Season’s Greetings

Hi!

It is hard to believe that the Holidays are approaching fast and we have to start making plans, including making cards for our friends and relatives. Today I am sharing a card that I created with a super cute Stamp & Cut set named Winter Penguin.

100215web_seasonsgreetings

The set includes two penguins, a couple of sentiments, and a few additional images. The penguin was stamped on Snow LayeringPaper with Black ink, and die-cut with its matching frame. Additionally, I colored the beak and feet with an orange marker, and I put a little bit of Glossy Accents over its beak and eyes. I stamped some snow flakes with Tide Pool Mid-Tone Shadow ink over a card base (Pool Mixed Layering Paper), and a sentiment with Black ink. I have to mention that the sentiment belongs to another very pretty set called Peace & Joy. At the end I embellished the card with some Clear Gemstones.

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another project.

Today’s Card: Merry Cactus to You

Hi!

To make the background I overlapped four different colors of layering paper. Then, on a white rectangular panel, I stamped the cactus using one of the new Ombré inks: Lime to Forever Green. The little winter hat and the cactus pot were stamped with Tide Pool and Orange Soda Mid-Tone Shadow inks. Then I die cut the images and I put foam underneath them. The sentiment was stamped with Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. At the end, I put Glossy Accents over the hat and cactus pot, a little golden bow, and some gemstones on the cactus.

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another project.

Today’s Card: Winter Wishes

Hi!
Here is a card that I created using a fabulous stamp set by Hero Arts: Color Layering Dimensional Bird. I have to say that this set is one of my favorites from the 2015 Holiday Catalog  🙂
091415web_winterwishes

The outlined image of the bird was stamped with Black ink, and then I started to stamp each of the parts of the bird using Ombré inks. Additionally, I  stamped a flower that also is included in the set. I die-cut both images along with a piece of foamy with its matching frame cuts. Then, I adhered the pieces together. The branch and leaves were  stamped directly over a white panel. I stamped a sentiment with Versamark, and heat-embossed it with Platinum Embossing Powder. I decided to add an embossed line on two of the edges. To do that, I simply traced a line with a Versamark pen, and then heat-embossed the line with embossing powder. At the very end, I adhered the panel to a card base and I embellished the card with some clear gemstones. I really had a lot of fun making this card 🙂
