FSJ • Choose to Be Grateful + 10K Celebration Challenge

Hi there! Today I am sharing a card that I created using a cute stamp set from the Journey Holidays mini catalog by FSJ. This set is called Thankful Friends and I really like the little fox included in it.

I began by creating the main image and sentiment. To achieve the subtle ombré effect of the image, I inked it with three colors: Citrus Cooler, Tangerine Fusion and a bit of Pumpkin Bread, and then,  I die cut it with its matching die. Next, I stamped the hat and scarf with Blue Lagoon True Color Fusion Ink over a piece of  Cool Pool cardstock; I fussy cut the stamped images with scissors, and adhered them over the fox.

I also stamped the sentiment with Hazelnut Blend True Color Fusion ink and die cut with its matching die as well. After that, I  adhered them over a Whip Cream hexagon shape with foam squares.

For this card, I used a Blue Lagoon base card, and a Pineapple Smoothie rectangle. This rectangle was embossed with the Tiny Dots embossing folder and then I rubbed the Whip Cream pigment ink pad over, to enhanced the dots. Additionally, I used a Pool Play Sparkle tape and Gift Twine.

I adhered the hexagon onto the card with foam squares and I adhered a few Fashion Silver pearls here and there. Here you have the color combo I used for this card:

FSJ • Thankful for You

A couple weeks ago I started my Fall crafting,  so today I am sharing one of those projects.  I used one pretty stamp set called: Thankful Friends among other great Fun Stampers Journey products:

102218web_thankful2

This set includes two solid critter stamps (a squirrel and a fox) that I love because you can create an ombré effect over the image. I used two colors to do so, Pumpkin Bread and Hazelnut Blend. This is quite an easy technique that with a bit of practice can be mastered.  I also stamped a scarf for the cute squirrel, using Green Olive ink over Whip Cream cardstock. Additionally, I stamped  the hot cocoa cup with Candy Apple ink and a sentiment over a circle shape.

102218web_thankful1

I die cut a couple of  Pretty Leaves from Tangerine Fusion and Green Olive cardstock. I paired them with Simply Gold tape over a strip of Haystack cardstock. Then I added Gift twine, silk splatters, gold sequins and Gold Fashion pearls.

The Block Party promotion at Fun Stampers Journey is about to come to an end. Right now, all the acrylic blocks have a 20% discount. So hurry, you still have a couple of days to get them!

FSJ • Monsters Layout

Happy Friday, friends! I am back to share a page that I created of my little furry Shelby.  Shelby loves new toys, and  I loved the little stuffed purple monster we got for her.  She plays gently with them in the beginning until she ends up making a hole and taking out the white stuffing, little by little. We always find white balls all over the house… so before that happened to this cute monster, I had to take a picture of my Shelby with it.

102218web_monsters

I made the background of this page the same way I made the background of the card I recently posted. I placed the Polka Dot Stencil over a 12 x 12 Whip Cream cardstock. Then, I inked the small dauber directly onto the ink pad, and I tapped it over the stencil in two or three of the stencil  holes. That is why the circle marks look uneven… I love how they look. I used the Chevron and Heart Wall stencils over two different colors of cardstock to create  a couple of rectangles that were used behind the picture.

102218web_monsters2

The long Cocoa Powder cardstock banner was made with the Tiny Dots embossing folder and inked with Whip Cream pigment ink.  I added some border details using the new Border Essentials and Pocket Trims die sets. I thought the image included in the Eyes On You stamp set was just perfect to include it in this page. So I stamped the image with Black Licorice ink and then, I colored it with Journey Burst Color Pencils using colors similar to Shelby’s monster.

102218web_monsters3

For the title I used the Marquee type and its matching die set.    I added a few buttons and some of the Monster Eyes stickers. Of course I had to include some sequins, a tiny wooden heart, a heart shaped clip,  and at the end I decided to add some sticthes. I still have to include the journaling, but that one it will be done later with my computer and printer.

FSJ • Thanks Card

Hello, Hello! This has been a busy month for me… Among other things,  I have been making some projects for my blog, taking pictures, editing them, etc. So hopefully I will be posting those projects soon.  The card that I am sharing today features an AT set called Zen Leaves… and I just love the graphic pattern of those leaves. Don’t you think they are pretty?

102218web_thanks

I began by creating the background using the Polka Dot Wall stencil, along with a small sponge dauber and Haystack ink. Then, I simply stamped the leaves using Citrus Cooler, Pumpkin bread and Pomegranate Splash inks.  Next, I die cut the leaves with its matching dies.

102218web_thanks2

The sentiment is from a set called Harvest Wreath and it was directly stamped over the background with Black Licorice ink. I arranged the leaves and adhered them with foam squares. After that, I embellished the card with some Gold sequins, some Sea Stones, Dark Roast Silk, and Gift Twine.

Please remember that this month at Fun Stampers Journey all the acrylic blocks have a 20% discount! For more details about this promotion,  please click on the image below:

FSJ • Trick or Treat Layout

Sometimes I wish I would have had my I-phone when my sons were growing up and have taken lots and lots of pictures of them back then. Even though I am grateful that I had a camera at least to capture some of those moments, specially those experiencing new things for the very first time. Today I am sharing s letter size scrapbook page that I created of my oldest son when he went trick or treating for the first time. This page shows one of the few pictures I took that day. I know, he looks quite serious, but I bet the one that was smiling was me behind the camera! 🙂  Anyhow, I won’t explain the steps of this page, but I will mention the great Fun Stampers Journey products that I  used to create it.

092318web_TrickorTreat

The Fall-O-Ween prints were obviously my choice for this page. I love that this collection includes papers perfect for the autumn celebrations. I used a Black Licorice cardstock panel matted with one of the prints. I stamped the Widows’s Web background stamp twice with Whip Cream True Color Fusion ink to cover part of the background.  I cut a few rectangles of different sizes to layer them above the stamped area and underneath the photo.

092318web_TrickorTreat4

I created a couple of clusters of elements. For the one on the upper right,  I used the skeleton from the B&W Halloween stickers and the skull clip from the All Hallows Eve Clips.  I also used a tag with my favorite twine, the Gift Twine. I also included some Journey tape pieces and some gems from the Spooky Eve Stickers. I complemented them with a few Toil and Trouble buttons and staples.

092318web_TrickorTreat3

For the cluster on the left, I used one of the sentiments included in Strange Beauty stamp set as the title on my page. I was afraid that the sentiment was going to look small, but I think that with all the elements surrounding it looks just fine.

092318web_TrickorTreat2

The pumpkin underneath the mushroom bunch is form a Fall set called Happy Harvest. As the final touches for this page I included some lines of journaling, Sparkle silk, and stitches.

Please remember that the Crush on Color promotion is available thru the month of September, and this is a good chance to get some of the colors you might have on your wishlist. For more details about it click on the image below:

FSJ • Happy Halloween Card

Halloween is around the corner, and there is still plenty of time to begin creating your Halloween projects. There is a particular stamp set Journey Holiday Mini Trends Catalog that I really like and it is called Skeletons Dance. The images are quite fun and they can be used to create cards, scrapbook pages or many tags for goodie bags.  So, I created a card using two of the cute skeletons.  Take a look:

HappyHalloween091518

I started this project by creating a card base from Black Licorice cardstock. Then I adhered a Whip Cream cardstock panel over the card.  This panel measures 5.5″ x 3.75″, so that way I left a bit of black color showing on top and a bit more on the bottom. After that, I die cut a stitched circle from Electric Lime cardstock, and the tree silhouette from the Spooksville die set using Black Licorice cardstock. I layered both and put them over my card base.

The sentiment that I used is from another pretty set called Eyes on You. I placed the sentiment over my acrylic block slightly bending the stamp as I placed it over trying to mimic the curve of the stitched circle (It helps if you first put your acrylic block over the green circle, and since the acrylic block is clear, you can see the circle underneath).

HappyHalloween0915182

Next, I  simply stamped two cute skeletons with Black Licorice Ink over Whip Cream cardstock and then, I die cut them with their matching dies. It is so nice to have matching dies! I adhered them using Journey Foam squares and I added some Spooky Eve Stickers to complement the scene along with silk splatters and a tiny paper clip.

Please remember that the Crush on Color promotion is available thru the month of September, and this is a good chance to get some of the colors you might have on your wishlist. For more details about it click on the image below:

FSJ Concept Designers Gel Press Print Swap

The FSJ Concept Designers have been having a little fun together (well, a LOT of fun) and today we want to show you what we’ve been working on! We had ourselves a little print swap. The six of us divided up into pairs. Three of the designers created an 8.5×11″ print on the Journey Gel Press. Then they cut their print in half and sent half to their partner. Each partner created a card using that print, and today we’re going to share what we’ve created! It was a really fun swap and I can’t wait to see all three of the prints, and how each designer used their print on a project!
I was one of the designers that made an 8.5×11″ print, and I created it by using warm acrylic paint tones  (I was thinking of the Fall season ), with a pop of white. I really liked how it turned out ! Besides the acrylic paints, I used stencils and modeling paste. This is my half:
DSC_0373

I mailed the other half of the print to my partner for the swap who is Michelle, and  I have created this card with my half:
112317web_thankscard

Since the colors were warm, I thought about making a thank you card for the Fall season. I used the Journey Gel Press print to make a background for the card, and I paired it with a thank you sentiment from a set called: Summer Garden.  I also used one Foiled Frame, some leaves and a zig-zag border.
112317web_thankscard4
To finish up my card I used some Gold Fashion dots and Gold ThreadSo now, if you haven’t visited Michelle yet, please click here to see what she has come up with her half!
Then, hop around to the rest of the teams, and see the prints they created, plus how they each used those prints!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of the swap stops, and don’t forget to pin everyone’s projects for inspiration later on!”
