HA 2017 Valentine’s Collection Blog Hop

vday_bloghop_800

Welcome! Today I am happy to be joining this hop that celebrates the launch of the 2017 Valentine’s Collection in the Hero Arts store! Be sure to visit the Hero Arts store to see the complete collection!

As part of this launch, I created a card using three fabulous products which I definitely love: Destination Paris, Heart Pattern Bold Prints and the new Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies.

I stamped the Heart Pattern Bold Prints over a card base ( Blush mix Layering Papers  -Carnation color) with Pale Tomato Shadow Ink. After that I stamped the Destination Paris image over Snow Layering paper with Intense Black Ink. I colored the image using Chameleon Markers and then, I die cut this panel into a large heart. I applied Glossy Accents and glitter over the colored image. I let this dry.

I also die cut a large heart from Blush mix Layering Papers  (Punch color) and I adhered this heart over the base card. I adhered the stamped heart over the card with foam tape (If you trim off the right side of the hearts before you adhere them, makes things easier). To finish off this card I simply added some sequins and thread.

HA • Holiday Cardmaking Challenge

thumbnail

Hey there! I like this time of the year because is just perfect to start working on your Holiday cards. Today is the kick off  of the Holiday Cardmaking Challenge at the Hero Arts blog. I love that they do this, because it is a fun way to motivate you to start creating.  I created a card for today, using some of the products included in the 2016 Winter Catalog.

I used a stamp set called Winter Scene + Die Combo to create the jar scene. I started by die-cutting the jar from Pool Mixed Layering Paper. I stamped the pine tree with Moss Hybrid Ink, and then I White-embossed the snow on the ground. I also Sparkle-embossed the falling snow. I stamped and die-cut the house and deer (Red Royal and Soft Brown Shadow Inks). I adhered the little deer with a glue dot, and the house with foam tape. I added sequins and  beads details.

I stamped the jar image over acetate with StazOn ink, and I die-cut the piece with its matching die. I stamped the lid part over Blush Mix Layering Paper, and  I fussy cut it. I adhere the lid over the acetate piece. After that I adhere the acetate jar over the jar scene with foam tape behind the lid.  This creates dimension and it kind of simulates a real jar (according to me)  🙂

The rest of the card were a few layers of stamped backgrounds over a Snow Layering Paper card base:

And the final touches: gemstones, pearls, sequins and hemp.

Of course Hero will be giving FIVE $50 Hero Arts shopping sprees awarded. The challenge runs October 10 – November 15. So you have plenty of time to create and participate. You can find more details by clicking >>> HERE<<<

Today’s Card: Season’s Greetings

Hi there! It is hard to believe that we have to start thinking about  card projects for the end of the year. It is always nice to think ahead and start working without any hurry. But, if you happen to be like me, who frecuently runs out of time to make projects in advance, it is always nice to have a plan B. This is when you can use a simple design, easy to duplicate so you can make a bunch of cards in a short period of time.

Today I am sharing an easy to make card that I created using the Paper Layering Star by Hero Arts.

For this card I simply stamped the Garland Bold Prints stamp over a Layering paper card with Tide Pool Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and then, I die cut the Paper Layering Star. I folded every other piece back to reveal the full star shape, and I put a tiny glue dot underneath each folded piece. Next, I simply white-embossed a sentiment (Holidays Greetings)   over a strip of Black Layering paper and I adhered it over the star with foam tape. To finish off this card I added some clear gemstones. That’s it!

There are a lot of new products in the 2016 Winter Catalog by Hero Arts that you can use for your plan A or plan B projects,so  if you haven’t seen them yet, here you can take a peek of the catalog…
