My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

The new My Monthly Hero kit has been just released and it will be available as of TODAY October 7th at the Hero Arts store, but be aware that this kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. This month the kits will begin shipping from Hero Arts on Friday, October 11th, and you can pre-order it today. I want to point out that you have the option to subscribe and receive the kit monthly and never miss one.

The theme for October is Christmas and the main kit includes fun images perfect to create fun Christmas scenes, check it out:

The kit includes: 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set, 19 coordinating frames, 2 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of Chrome Cardstock, 6 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of Neon Cardstock, , Clay Snowflake Embellishments, and Prisma Glitter 0.5 oz. The value of this kit is $75.00, but it can be yours for only $34.99… so this is really a good deal!

So for this special occasion I created three cards. For the first one I used the main kit stamp set:

I stamped the images with  Intense Black Ink and I colored them with markers. Then, I simply arranged the images on a white cardstock panel to create a cozy Christmas scene. A piece of washi tape and some enamel dots were the final touches for it.

The second card was created using one of the Add-on sets and its matching frame cuts. This set is called Out of This World Christmas, take a look:

For this card, I white-embossed the sentiment and some stars over a navy blue cardstock panel and I added some Sparkle Silk. Images were also stamped with  Intense Black Ink and colored with markers. I adhered the images with foam tape and I embellished the card with some silver sequins.

My third card features another add-on set which is one of my favorites sets:

The set is called Meowy Christmas and I also used its matching frame cuts. I used markers to color the images and I added some Glaze details here and there. I included tiny enamel dots as the ornaments and a white embossed sentiment over a piece of red cardstock.

Hero will give away one $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, October 13th at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

  1. Fantastic retro cards! The space themed one is my favorite. There’s just something about seeing Santa and Rudolph in their space helmets that brings back some great memories. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Beautiful cards! I especially love the cats with trees card! I love the little gem dots for ornaments on the tree! Very creative!

  3. Love ALL your cards, but since I grew up with a Siamese cat, the cat card is definitely my favorite. It reminds me of all the holidays I spent with my furry best friend.

  4. This is my favourite kit so far! That fireplace brings back memories of visiting friends with one like it. I like the CAS lines of the stamps in this kit. It’s versatile too as you could use so much of it on cards that aren’t for Christmas. Love your card with the cats & the tree. All of your cards are inspiring & coloured/shaded so very well. Thanks Mariana.

  5. Love all of your cards, and great job on your scene building! The designs are well thought out and built, and your coloring is perfect! Love the little glazed accents throughout–they are just the perfect touch.

  6. Fabulous cards!! I LOVE that first one with the little living room scene and the chevron carpet!! If only you could have made it shag!

  7. Great cards!! Love use of the enamel dots on the ornaments! The space Santa set is awesome! You definitely did it justice!! Thanks for sharing!

  8. Wow! That reminds me so much of my childhood Christmases!

Thank you so much for sharing these crafty ideas for using this kit.
