RG Lumberjack Bookmarks

I have always thought that creating something for my husband or my sons is kind of difficult, specially because I love using all sort of girly stuff, like flowers, birds, butterflies, etc.  So, when I saw the complete collection of Lumberjack by Richard Garay, I just loved it. This collection  can be  used for the men in your life, and you can always give your projects a feminine twist if you want.

Today I am sharing a simple project using this new collection. I create a set of bookmarks for my husband. He loves reading with his iPad, but he still reads normal books… and besides that he has a beard now 🙂 ❤

I began by cutting long rectangles from three different colors of card stock.  Then, I stamped the backgrounds by using some of the small images of the following stamp sets:  Hey Bro!, So Plaid, Plaid Shirt, and Bromance. I used white pigment ink to create the background  on the darker colors of card stock, and red  and gray for the lighter colors.

I stamped the big images to create a focal point for each of the bookmarks, and then I die cut them with their matching frames. I aligned them towards the right edge, and I trimmed off part of the image.

I also stamped a sentiment and I enhanced them with Journey Glaze. I love doing this. Journey Glaze is by far one of my favorites products from Fun Stampers Journey 🙂

Next, I trimmed the upper corners of the bookmarks with scissors. You can use a pre-madetag as a guide to get a perfect cut of the corners 🙂 After that, I adhered a small black circle as reinforcement  and I punched a hole to it. Finally, I put a mix of bakers twine to embellish them.

If you haven’t seen all the new Richard Gary Collections, you can take a look in the link below. The new collections will be released in the next few months, so stay tuned 😉

Well, that’s all from me for today, I will be back soon to share another project.
