Happy Monday everyone!

Today is the release day for the first MMH kit of 2016!  This new wonderful kit will be available TODAY January 4th at NOON (Eastern time) at the Hero Arts store. The kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone.

The full kit will contain – two 3×4″ stamp sets, three dies including two paper layering dies, 2 ink cubes, an exclusive mix of sequins created by Lucy Abrams, gorgeous vellum with irridescent speckles, acetate, cards and envelopes. Take a look:

There is also an add-on die set (Valentine word and small hearts) to purchase separately.

DI179 Valentine and Three Hearts Fancy Dies

So today as part of this exciting release,  I created a card and pillow box using a few of the products included in the kit. I have to point out that this kit is so much fun to play with!  I really liked the dies as well as all the products included, perfect for Valentine’s day and so much more!

010216web_valentineI created a card using the heart nested dies as the focal point. First I die cut the scalloped frame on a white card stock panel, and I adhered it over a red card. Then, on a piece of white cardstock, I created the patterned background using different colors of ink and a sponge. After that, I die cut the heart  shape from my custom patterned paper and from a foam sheet (to give the heart dimension). I adhered the heart centered over the white panel. Next,  I die cut the valentine word from black card stock and a piece of black foam. I adhered it onto the heart, and I complemented it with a tiny sentiment. At the end, I added some pretty sequins and gemstones.

I also made a pillow box. I randomly stamped little hearts over a piece of white card stock. Then, I created the pillow box with a punch board. I tied a bow and I added a little heart shaped tag that coordinates with the card.

  1. Very lovely and I would love to be able to make a pillow box but have not seen a punch board for that. I do have a envelope one if that would work?

  2. Love your projects, especially the card. The way you made your background paper for the center heart is really neat and something I definitely plan to try. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I really love the heart on the first card. I would love to see a video explaining how you did that. I am fairly new to all this, and have not seen anything like it before. Thanks so much.

  4. What great projects! I’ve got to try die cutting my sentiments from foam as well as card stock. I love the way yours really pops!

  5. Too cute – I am totally taking your pillow box idea for my kids’ valentines this year! Thank you for sharing your talents!

  6. Your valentine projects are both amazing…Lvov them both and love this kit! Hoping to order it as soon as the site stops crashing! It must be VERY Popular!!

The pillow box is as sweet as can be, I may have to try one of my own, once I have my kits…

Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent…

  7. Great card and pillow box ideas. I really love the colorful hearts you made. I love the dimension foam gives. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration to play with inks.

  8. Love your card and the little pill box is so pretty! I miss making these for the kids. I suppose big kids would like those too though, so maybe I still will make some little candy filled boxes for my friends.

  9. Both of your projects are lovely! I am going to have to get some of that foam that you gals have been using. Wish the kit fit into my budget because it is so versatile………..maybe I will win it!:)

  13. It’s so fun to hop from blog to blog and see each designer’s brilliant take on the Hero Arts kit. Your card and pillow box are fantastic! I love that you created the plaid pattern and incorporated it into both projects. Both items would surely make someone’s Valentine’s Day extra special!

  14. I love how you did that with the white heart. Your cars are so pretty! Lots of pink and hearts and sequins. It looks like Valentine’s Day!

  15. Your card and box are so pretty. You showed us great ways to use the super kit. What did we all do before someone( Jennifer McQuire) taught us to use fun foam for dimension? It’s so handy for cards that are mailed. Thanks
